We had an amazing experience with Doctor John who took care of our precious little girl after she had fallen at child care and had cut her head and the paramedics recommended getting it stapled. We took her to South County Urgent Care and Dr. John and his assistant, Garrett were extremely helpful. He had our daughter laughing and in great spirits before applying the lidocaine and staple to laceration on the back of her head. His bedside manner was amazing and comforting. Doctors are really experienced and sharp, the nurse is nice and helpful. I brought my daughters to there when they get sick, they got well after taking the medication. I got cold and I had bronchitis in the past., I went to there, the doctor knows the issue soon after he checked, and gave me the right prescription. Strongly recommend this urgent care. read more

Dr. Gentile and the entire staff are wonderful! Our first experience with South County Urgent Care was a week ago, when my husband, son, and I went in for Covid tests after our daughter tested positive. That was a great and painless experience - we were seen right away and received our negative results within 2 days. And then today we had the occasion to visit again. While playing soccer, my son's forehead collided with another player's cleats - ouch! A couple of major cuts needing quick attention! Rather than the hospital ER, which was suggested by the coach, I decided to return here and I'm so glad we did. The reception staff were very accommodating and took us back right away. Thankfully they had our paperwork on file from last week, so I didn't have to worry about that. Dr Gentile came in right away and has the BEST bedside manner, putting us both at ease with his subtle humor and likability. He proceeded to put 13 stitches in my son's forehead while entertaining us with his banter. Really helped my son stay relaxed and distracted. (Ok, maybe me too) His assistant was very nice as well, and we also got to meet his wife, who is a doctor on staff there too. Really lovely people - so much so that I kinda wish we could make them our regular primary physicians! We ended up in and out of there in less than an hour. They were very efficient and Dr. Gentile did a beautiful job with the stitches which is so important on the face. Thankful to know we have this option for our future needs! read more

Just waited 30 minutes while the receptionist was on a phone call. One person in the waiting room. Absolutely nothing "urgent" about their service. Asked for my ID, insurance card and paperwork back so we could drive to MedHero. Will never go back there! As a follow up: We walked in to medhero, we're greeted and are now in an exam room awaiting the X-ray. It took longer to drive from SC Urgent Care to MedHero than it took to check in and be seen once we got here. Thank you MedHero. Don't waste your time with South County Urgent Care! The people there are fine, the wait wasn't bad. What really pissed me off is that Gentile saw me for a maximum of 2 minutes, recommend some drops, and sent me on my way. I later received a bill for $187 dollars. The bill claims I saw him for 30-40 minutes. Try somewhere else if you can read more

My husband experienced a high fever and we went to this urgent care and my husband was seen by Dr Gentile within 10 min of our arrival. He identified what the problem might be and prescribed an antibiotic. Dr Gentiles follow up on how my husband was feeling was top notch. He was very professional, concerned and caring. Zero-wait for a walk-in clinic! The staff is friendly and efficient. I was just there for a covid test (PCR) yet you still get seen by the Doc. Dr. Gentile was kind, efficient, and answered all my questions. I checked in for my results 2 days later - the staff was patient with me. This place is great! They'll stitch you right up. Literally. Dr. Gentile is awesome and good at what he does. These are the best stitches I've ever gotten. These are also the only stitches I've ever gotten, so that bar was pretty low, but it seems like he nailed it! My finger was kinda hanging open when I walked in, and when I walked out it was sewn shut, so that's real nice. I love not being able to see the inside of my finger. I think in general I prefer all my fingers to be closed from public viewing, and the doctor made that a reality for me. And a shoutout to the nurses, they are so kind and calming! They are super good at doing doctor stuff too. I don't recommend slicing your finger open, that's definitely a thumbs-down for me. But I DO recommend this doctor-store if you do need urgent care. I went back to get it looked at and oh-BOY that finger is lookin gnarly but Doc says she's healing just fine. read more

We visited this Urgent Care last night when my daughter needed a COVID test and everything about this office prioritized patient care. The front desk was very helpful and allowed us to sign in and return when it was her turn, not making us wait in the lobby. The medical technician/nurse was very friendly and made sure all of our concerns were addressed and then Dr Gentile was incredible. He explained what the test entailed and performed the nasal swab very quickly. He said we would have the results in 10 minutes and he was back right at 10 minutes. I highly, highly recommend this office for COVID testing and any other medial issue. We will definitely be back when the need arises! read more

I had come down with the flu unexpectedly in June, very concerned that I might have infected my family with the Covid virus I was instructed by my primary doctor to get a Covid test. I first tried CVS, what a failure they were. So I called my favorite urgent care late in the afternoon, Dr. John Gentile picked up, he was so cool and said come by, sit in the parking lot and he will meet me outside. Came this morning for a covid test, they let us know it was walk-in only. Waited approximately 5 minutes after filling out some forms and were seen. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. John was very friendly and informative about COVID, what to expect, and explained to us the "why" behind the 6 foot rule, why it works, all with a scientific approach and explanation, which we greatly appreciated. I will never be returning to this urgent care. I saw Dr. Magee and was not tested for the illness he said I had, and was misdiagnosed because of that. He was impatient, ignorant and unwilling to listen. As a result I had to go see another doctor to get the proper diagnosis and treatment. Absolutely the best experience my wife and I had with an urgent care situation in San Clemente. We were greeted by Joanne at the front desk, she was extremely empathetic. My wife cut through half her thumb with a knife I had just sharpened (little guilt there). Joanne cleaned the wound with patience and care, she made my wife feel at ease and made her comfortable. Dr. John Gentille came in and was extremely professional and explained her situation, he also had a little humorous side that sets your mind at ease. Procedure went as the doc explained and it was over in a matter of 10 minutes, perfect stitches! Medications were available at the office, so no extra travel to CVS or RiteAid. I went into South County Urgent Care on Monday, July 13, 2020 after learning that a co-worker tested positive for COVID. Today is July 30, 2020 and still do not have my results. I have called numerous times and am told that the results aren't back yet. WTF? Not the fault of South County Urgent Care that Quest cannot handle the volume of tests. Just very frustrating to wait almost three weeks for results. read more

I needed a Covid test for a procedure I had coming up. I was dreading the nasal swab part but Dr. Gentile did an a very thorough but not too invasive swab of both my nostrils. Very quick too. Be careful when you walk in that you do an immediate left I went straight and ended up at Quest who said they only do antibody testing not the needed nasal swab one. Fortunately, I called the Urgent Care number from my car and she said they absolutely do the nasal one and she guided me back through the building til I walked in, very helpful at the front desk on everything! The Quest person mentioned that she had several people asking for the swab but apparently did not realize Urgent Care right in the building was doing them, I went back and told her. This is one of the most efficiently run Urgent Care's I have ever been to. Highly recommend. read more

My wife and I have been coming to South County Urgent Care for a number of years now and have always been impressed with all the doctors that work there including all of the staff. They are always very professional and caring. If it were not true I would not be writing this. Today was no exception as Dr Gentile helped me straighten out a problem I was having with blood pressure medications until I start with my new pcp.
