I've been allergic to cats my entire life…read more My eyes would get irritated around them, my throat would start to scratch, and my nose would get so stuffy I could not sleep. I don't have the time to get allergy shots once a week or even once a month, I'm too busy. As a result, I've never been able to be comfortable around pets. I found Dr. Fass in 2013 and he prescribed me immunotherapy drops for cats, dogs and dust. Three drops under the tongue for two minutes, twice a day, and now I can continue watching all of my friends pups painfree. Can not say enough about how much this has helped cure me of my allergies, except that it is life changing. Thank you, Dr. Fass!

I've been working with Dr. Fass for a little over a year now. To be clear, even though he's an ENT,…read moreI think he really only focuses on patients with allergies. Basically, I spent most of 2011 sick as a dog. I would have a chest cold for a couple weeks, get better, then get strep throat, then get better, then have the flu AND strep thraot, and on it went. Finally, I figured I had to do something, so I sucked it up and went to go see an ENT. Even though I really wanted to take my tonsils out, he referred me to Dr. Fass because he felt I might have allergies, which I never knew could cause so many other problems. Ever since I've been working with him my health has dramatically improved. I found out I have allergic asthma and together we've been working on different medications to treat and control both. Aside from the fact that he's very knowledgable, he's also very patient and really works to understand you, and then to help you understand your condition. My one gripe: Appointments there take a very long time. The last time I was in the office I had to listen to someone complain about it for a half hour. Honestly, I know this is the case at most doctors, and I don't much mind the wait but I know some people do (and that you may be subject to someone else's complaining because of it). Tip: If you're thinking of doing allergy shots but want something less intrusive, consider allergy drops instead. I mention it because this doctor is apparently one of the only ones who offers this particular treatment.

It took me 6 months to get my $1,500 deductible back from SF ENT after I had sinus surgery. They collected the deductible before the surgery, but it was applied to the anesthesiologist's bill. I had to pay another $1,500 to the anesthesiologist to avoid going to collections and then fight with the billing office of SF ENT to get the other $1,500 they weren't entitled to back from them. It took countless calls, documentation, letters, the insurance carrier calling and writing them, and me finally threatening small claims court before they finally refunded it. I even had someone in the billing office outright lie to me about their title and level of authority. Dr. Kleidermacher's staff is beyond unbelievably rude. They will put you on endless hold, disconnect you, not answer your questions, give you bad information, argue with you, and God-forbid should a situation arise where an apology is in order. Avoid this practice at all cost.

I handed over my ID and Kaiser card and gave my information and they were able to easily bill my insurance so I didn't have to handle it after the fact. After some wait my vitals were checked, then I was sent back to the lobby and after a bit more of a wait, I was moved into a shared room. In total my visit was about three hours and I was able to speak to the doctor who ordered my medication to the closest pharmacy and had a first dose ready for me prior to my leaving. When I let them know I hadn't eaten recently they also provided a sandwich and crackers to take with the medication. I was texted semi-regularly with the name of my nurse, my doctor, my room, and when I was discharged - all things Kaiser doesn't do that I appreciated. My visit fee was the same as it is with Kaiser and because they supplied the first dose I was able to head home and go to sleep, picking up my medication the next day. All in all, I appreciated how Mount Sinai made the experience smooth for me and it's nice knowing I have an ER I can go to when I'm in the area.
