This security company is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of meeting the acquaintance off. I recently went to a private event in Miami and they were great! At one point, I noticed a guest who seemed a bit distressed, and one of the security officers quickly stepped in to check on them, showing genuine concern. Later in the night, they also handled a situation with an uninvited guest calmly and efficiently without making a scene. The purpose of a security company is simple: keep residents safe. It is not to harass residents, intimidate guests, or create constant conflict inside people's own homes. Unfortunately, South Florida Security Group appears to fundamentally misunderstand that role. This has been the single worst vendor experience I have ever had in a residential building and I have lived in high-end and luxury p roperties my entire adult life.What makes this situation even more disturbing is the scale of responsibility involved. Our HOA allocates close to $1,000,000 per year to this security company. With that level of budget, residents should expect professionalism, training, restraint, and accountability. Instead, what we received was the opposite. Over an extended period, I experienced a clear pattern of misconduct, including: * Harassment and intimidation of a lawful resident * Unauthorized photography of me, my guests, and visitors * Following authorized guests through the building without cause * Denial of access to my own residence despite a valid, paid lease * Selective and inconsistent enforcement of rules * Escalation instead of de-escalation * Interference with third-party vendors (dog sitter, cleaning service, handyman), causing delays and extra costs * Complete lack of response or accountability from management Security is supposed to protect residents, not target them. At no point did these guards act like trained professionals entrusted with resident safety. Instead, they routinely overstepped their authority, behaved in a confrontational and invasive manner, and injected themselves into situations they had no legal standing in. The most alarming part is that this behavior continued after multiple complaints were made, both verbally and in writing. No follow-up. No corrective action. No acknowledgment. Just silence. On more than one occasion, situations escalated so severely that law enforcement had to be contacted simply so I could access my own home. No resident should ever have to involve police because a private security company is blocking or harassing them. Let me be clear: This is not a misunderstanding. This is not a one-time bad interaction. This is a sustained pattern of harassment. Even more telling every other department in the building (management, concierge, valet, maintenance) has been professional, courteous, and reasonable. The issues originate exclusively from South Florida Security Group. When nearly a million dollars a year is being spent on "security," residents should feel safer not stressed, targeted, or afraid of interacting with guards in their own building. I have a horrible unprofessional and disrespectful guard named M vinton at pariso bayviews who claims to be the head guard, who harassed me 3x in one day. I have all interaction video recorded & plan on making a formal complaint & will call the police on him if he harasses me one more time. I was disturbed by his claim to be a correction officer & I had to explain to him that my apt building aka my home is not a jail, prison or detention center & he has to treat people with respect & not like criminals. If you read some of these reviews you will quickly see which ones are fake and which ones sound real. Ex employees all tell the same story, which rings true. I for one have no first hand experience with this company nor do I have any employment connection with them. However, I saw one of their patrol cars on the road the other day and was completely blinded by there illegal, green in color LED lights that were both installed on the on the front and rear bumper of the vehicle. The vehicle was just traveling West bound on NW 6th Street and were flashing the lights. These lights per 316.241.(7) Flashing lights are prohibited on vehicles. These lights are distracting, blinding and pose an extreme hazard to the motoring public. If this company is so brazen violates FSS, you can only imagine what else they will violate. One of its security guards has displayed over and over again his unprofessionalism and inability to fulfill his job requirements. He has verbally and physically attacked me. The building management as well as South Florida Security Group has ignored his behavior and not done anything to correct situations this employee has caused. Most people think of a security person as someone to protect them the, owners of the building. This security guard does exactly the opposite. Many people in this building do not trust the security guard and feel that he is not properly performing the requirements of his position. I have been sent to properties as a rover they gave me an infested patrol car with a nail in the tire that also had faulty charging problems. They are extremely racist and only look out for themselves and their kind. This job isn't for us African Americans only 2 of them speak fluent English but those are the hardest people to get in contact with. The office people will mess with your schedule and the supervisors would act completely clueless and say they will work on it. It takes about a week to get the smallest problems solved but it would only be a temporary solution, not a permanent one. If your looking for a full-time job to pay your bills this is not it one pay period your work 80+ hours the next you barely work 20. Overall nobody should apply to this job I dealt with disrespect for 4 months. They allow other male guards to walk around and say their supervisors when there not. They will talk to you anyway. I give this company zero stars. They don't have a care in the world for their employees unless they put up eith their bs. I've had issues with this company for 4 months that I've been here. I've reported 4 infestations. The firdt two road sup Rick assisted me with the cars and changed them out. Because they had so many roaches in them. I posted the videos to yelp. I also reported another time about a car in the moors neighborhood that had roaches. I spoke to captain Ramos. She was useless. And a lazy liar that will do everything in her power to not work. After I called her out saying she was being untruthful about fumigation in the vehicles.she then switched all my hours to the gatehouse just so she didn't have to clean and fumigate the vehicles. She also stated a lie saying "the cars had been cleaned and fumigated. They might not be up to your standards but they have been cleaned." She stated that to me after I called her out saying they hadn't been cleaned because I was standing at my post watching every work vehicle and no one had been there to clean or fumigate. Spraying bug spray in the car or the gatehouse is not fumigation and will not get rid of an infestation. They refuse to fumigate any cars or gate houses. On top of that there is a termite infestation in the moors north gate house. Again they refuse to fumigate. Instead chief Andy when I told him about the issue he sarcasticly stated "are the termites there all the time? Or are they only there when you are." I then proceeded to ask if they can replace the wooden desk that houses the termites which they have already eaten through the pressed wood. And again cheif andy states sarcasticly " sure I can place am order for another 3 or 4 thousand dollar desk." This company is full of lazy lying supervisors who don't have a care in the world for the employees under them. They are contempt. But you better believe that if any supervisor had roaches or termites in they're office they would call fumigation immediately because it directly affects them. I've asked multiple supervisors if they would work in these conditions and possibly take the bugs home with them and ofcourse they never responded. What a surprise. If you work here don't. If you apply don't even show to the interview. They charge you 25 cents every hour for your uniform. And if something breaks or you lose the uniform you have to pay out of pocket after that charged you 25 cents for every single hour you worked in the uniform. No proof that they were hired by the association and I was told to call police if I had a problem with it. When I asked them what proof they would show police they said they had it but offered nothing to show me for a sense of SECURITY. When presented with a business card I went to turn on the flash on my phone and the man snatched it out of my hand accusing me of taking a picture of it. Why is he allowed to take my info but I not his? Borderline harassment and will definitely be making a report in the morning. Was not surprised to see their rating here. The patrolman in my complex Georgetown in Lauderhill watches and waits for someone to step away from their cars (even knowingly for seconds) and places those hard to come off violation stickers. No common courtesy is given to say move or your car or a warning. They purposely block the entrance with the patrol car. Cars are consistently having to maneuver around them causing a serious hazard.The patrols cars are now armed with 2 blinding lights that shine brightly into residents homes. (No dark curtains, and you're screwed.) He's also walked up to the garage to let us know his son would come to "whoop someone's ass." We are still waiting. "Officer" Latoya which paroles Isles at Bayshore in Cutler Bay is the extremely rude and unprofessional. How the association in such a prestigious neighborhood has allowed her to keep her job despite numerous complaints is beyond me. She's costed the association money by unauthorizedly towing vehicles which then has had to be reimbursed to the owner by the community association. She focuses on ticketing people which she knows are owners/renters. What's the purpose. Ticket true, unauthorized vehicles not known community members. Not to mention her vengeance on people's porches and what they have in it. Mind you this is a very clean neighborhood. Understandable items are found in THEIR porches, such as an umbrella from a days rain, etc. Latoya abuses her power and Karma bites back. Enough people just need to complain. Which from what I hear everyone has had an issue. Call Lisbeth Martinez at Miami Management 305-378-0130 and file a formal complaint which will then be sent to the board of directors.
