It's been 10 years since I last step in to a WIC office. Forgot what to expect. I was helped by Ximena, she was great and very helpful, she explained everything and made things so much easier. Location is clean and well organized. They also have fresh fruits and veggies, prices are amazing compared to the grocery store and plenty of snacks. Definitely recommend this location. read more

So reading the yelps i was actually kind of scared to come to this office because it was my first time but honestly i loved it the staff was nice and acknowledged me especially Maggie she was funny and so kind and so helpful now that they use the cards . I can honestly say she took great care of us .Parking also scared me because its Southgate street parking is ruff but they have a whole parking structure in the back of the building vip to us wic users that was a HUGE plus for me especially with a baby in the backseat .They even have a MOTHERS next door killed 2 birds with one stone there. read more

Waiting time is ridiculously long, I don't understand why they give you an appointment if they are going to make you wait 1+ hours!!!

This is the worst place to go if you need your wic coupons and all that, even with your appointment you need to wait 1 something 2 hours after! They dont take into consideration that some of these moms have newborns and a mix of screaming toddlers then to top it off if one of the children are sick they might pass it on to the newborns. I've came 3 separate times in the past year and each time it has not been pleasant. 1st visit was when I first found out I was pregnant, they did not approve of my answer of not wanting to breastfeed. The lady was very pushy and not understanding at all of my reasons and made the comment that if I wanted WIC their mission statement was primary focused on breastfeeding. My 2nd visit I was about 6-7 months pregnant already and was told that my weight gain (I only gained 15lbs total during my pregnancy, I am petite person) was not where it needed to be and that I was putting my child at risk. I told the lady that not once at any doctor appt was it every mentioned my weight gain was an issue. She responded by saying that sometimes doctors don't really care for patients and they are more experienced when it comes to diets. She then went on and said that I would need to provide a doctors note saying that my weight at the time was reasonable and nothing to concern over. My last attempt was when my son complete his first year I made an appt for 8am. Waited til 8:15 and no one was at the office, I called the main number and only then was informed that the office was not going to open til 9. They had a last minute thing and they had only found out the afternoon prior but did not think to call everyone who had an appt. to reschedule!! I asked why I was not informed and the person on the phone responded that it was last minute and they did not have the time to call. I would think this should something important and if overtime is needed in order to inform everyone or send a voice message indicating the change would be reasonable especially the people who are taking time off from work. This office is very unprofessional and are only welcoming to parents who have the same mentality as they do. After so many bad experiences I've just decided WIC is not an option for me. read more

I visited this placed and waited for service for over 20 minutes,until I got up and left without any employee offering me service. I would understand if the place was busy, but it was half empty. Employees engaged in conversations among themselves behind the counter. Service is terrible. I don't recommend this place at all. If you in the area stop by the azalea shopping center you will find good food and much better service, where you will feel welcome. In this place you will be ignored uncomfortable especially if you have company. read more
