Came here with a few friends for salsa and bachata night about 2 Saturdays ago and had so much fun!…read moreThe studio is spacious and clean; Darlin (the owner and primary teacher) is patient, fun, and incredibly entertaining. I kept stumbling with my turns so he went out of his way during the lesson to work with me on them. After an hour lesson, the dance floor opened up until 2am to a spicy mix of salsa and bachata songs! As a first-timer I felt shy and sat in a corner but everyone (even the elite) were so friendly and continually asked me to dance (and taught me steps along the way)! I tend to be very uncomfortable when it comes to physical contact but dancing with everyone felt rather natural! Such a lovely experience- If I lived in or near Philly I would take classes here in a heartbeat. Will definitely be back for more salsa nights!

Our instructor was pleasant and patient, and we had a great time learning basic salsa moves!! The other people in the drop-in class were two other couples...so be warned as that generally seems the norm for classes. I think the academy also does "salsa parties" which are more free practice sessions. The time flew by, and we were encouraged to videotape the last 5 minutes of the instructor giving an overview of what we had learned, so we could come back after practicing on our own! Will definitely come back to use up the rest of our livingsocials....hopefully the classes aren't too repetitive so we'll see!

Just out of curiosity, could you post/ show photos of the diversity of students you pick as main…read morecharacters. Say, from the summer shows from the years 2025-2026? Would love to see those The theater company keeps insisting on their website that they "teach," and "nourish," (etc. on such nice fluffing words,) overstating they are very fair in who they cast and just how much they do for the kids...Absolutely, a lot for the same students over and over. I'm sad to say that you'll be paying for day care camp, with such theater related activities as "paper towel hop hot lava", "make up your own Disney trivia," and playing YouTube background music to do "Karaoke." Statistically, it is not possible that out of 60+ students that they "accept" per summer session at $800.00+ each, the same 15-20 (or less) are featured all the time because they outdid the other 40-50+ every single time.... also, the overcasting of shoving the 60 kids on ensamble just once or twice, way in the back, while only 15 of those kids are assigned anything of a role (Kudos to the organizer's kids for getting roles as well, and to boot, demonstrating poor sportsmanship to the other students by making commentary out loud...) It's essentially a bit of a cult. While they do have very sweet and talented students (and definitely not their fault they're highly favorited because their parents are part of that creepy singing cult, which has to be ritualized at the beginning of every single play, extending it over a half hour, along with the absolute same speech paraphrased over and over and over... about some egotistical lady claiming she's so busy and not doing her laundry for 3 weeks, how tired but so happy everyone looks, especially the day of performances, at drop off.... Just please. AI sounds more genuine, maybe put effort into that as well? We were stupid enough to try it twice, not even expecting absolutely any lead, but maybe ensamble and to actually LEARN something about theater... Alas (paper towel hopping ) as the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Please don't be fooled by the fluff. It's honestly sickening. (And please, a new shorter more genuine speech for $800.00 per student you are receiving wouldn't kill you) Also, shouldn't that money go towards actual makeup, working mics, and... oh, yeah, keeping those props, and not saying out loud to the kids not to break them so you can return them?) You can't make this up

And the productions were ... well ... amazing considering they put them together in 6 weeks. Through the years, it impressed me how Mainstage always put kids first - it was important that the kids were having a positive experience. The programs focus on giving kids not just exposure to the arts; they help kids be self-confidant, teach teamwork, and encourage them to support one another - skills that are valuable anywhere. Highly recommended.

I've been studying Tae Kwon Do here for over a year now, and it's high time I wrote a review!…read more I've always been a very slow, awkward, unathletic person. I can't dance, and I'm all thumbs and right feet. If this is you too, I guarantee karate will do you wonders. (Thanks too to Josephine M @Traineo for inspiring me over two years to get into Martial Arts!) I found Bobby Leach's Olympic Karate through my son, who attended an amazing birthday party in kindergarden here. Bobby Leach, his wife Andrea, and their instructors were very good with the children and I was highly impressed. It took me two years to get back in and sign up for a free month of karate though. (Shame on me!) I was only going to sign my son up initially, but decided at the last minute that I may as well try a free month too and keep him company. The first thing I really appreciated was the honest enthusiasm. There was no high pressure sales - they let the free month speak for itself! I've been to gyms where the salesperson fakes it for the 30 minutes it takes to get you to sign a contract, but how can you fake it for a full four weeks? The positive atmosphere, encouragement, enthusiasm, camaraderie, and friendly competitiveness are real. The other major selling point was: No contract! You pay each month and can cancel any time - no signup fees, no other expense other than the uniform and belt. The rates are extremely competitive - I paid $100 for my son, and $80 for myself (discounted rates for multiple students). Best of all was the positive and nurturing atmosphere that the instructors and senior students provided. Mr. Bob, Andrea, and the other instructors are really top notch not just in teaching you the basics, but making you feel good about yourself and making you WANT to give it your all. Senior students like Ms. Susan, Ms. Meredith, Ms. Jackie, and many others also constantly pitch in to help fellow students with forms and tips and keep morale and energy high all throughout.

Did not appreciate Bobby's gift with connecting with children, until I had my own. Also, as a female, I am equally proud that this school has some pretty bad ass women like Meredith and Dee helping run the show - whether it's teaching karate or kickboxing!!!
