Absolutely the worst!!! I had been at Advent Minneola for a week and they were incredible. I went for a procedure at nearby Southlake Hospital soon after and Southlake was AWFUL! Dirty room, unprofessional staff, and I waited 8 hours to get into a filthy room. Awful care, nasty food, and a high school atmosphere made for a harrowing experience. I could not be more pleased with my recent Emergency stay at Southlake Hospital in Clermont, FL from July 5th through the 11th. I was under the care of two great doctors: Mitchell R. Milstein, MD, and Japher Bernal, MD. Both took excellent care of me and were able to diagnose my problem from day one. I have a special commendation for my incredible nurses: Nurse Rebeka, who calls herself "mamma bear" and means it!, Nurse Monique, a wonderful professional lady, Nurse Michael and his student, Jessie, who helped me even when they were not assigned to do so; and Nurse Zie, a real sharp lady that can keep her wits about her. I was visited several times by the great Nurse Manager, Janet A. and the Charge Nurse whose name I failed to obtain. Likewise, my very best recommendations go to all the Nurse Technicians/Assistants: the young, beautiful and smart Lana Young; Brittania Nelson and Diamond, full of energy! But, my visit would not have been such a success without the incredible assistance of Jose and Lisa, the two Physical Therapists assigned to me. They showed me I could do what I didn't think possible; the Food and Nutrition services Marisol, and Queenie, the Case Manager. All these people played very important roles in my recuperation and making me feel at home in the middle of all these tests, medications and uncertainties. Staff, care quality, facility, food. This was the best hospital experience I have ever had including that of all of my family members.

Exam rooms now have huge advertising screens. Lots of low level employees few medical staff, so you wait while looking at staffers doing little and joking around. Building cleanliness isn't what you would expect either. Patients in ICU can wait hours for a nurse to respond to a concern or problem. read more

Nothing but good to say about this hospital. Cheery decor, pleasant nurses, informed physicians. Easy to get to. Parking easy. They do have free valet though. On a hill with pretty views out the window. Big windows in the rooms. We've done ER and inpatient with a family member. All good things to say. Drs. Even called us at home! Impressed! read more

My Dad passed away in this hospital in the ICU. I will not recommend this hospital. The nurses in the ICU were really nice. However the Dr's in charge made horrible recommendations and I did NOT agree with their treatment or lack of. The med surge floor had horrible patient care! I would give negative stars if possible!!!! My Dad had a very serious diagnosis however they sent him home with out the proper equipment. He returned a few days later on the way to his death bed!!! read more

Thank you so much to Southlake hospital. We arrived here for a non scheduled induction. We showed up just 9 minutes past 9pm when L&D is closed to visitors. So we went around to the ER. The lady at the front desk immediately noticed us and grabbed a wheelchair for us. Dr. Ives was EXCELLENT and made our experience very much better. His bedside manners were top notch. His voice and tone was calm and helpful. After our delivery the food that was served the following day was actually very tasty. I know...right?!?! Hospital food being tasty... That's unheard of. The salmon & the chili - with the hot from the oven cornbread on the side were two of my favorites. Thank you to the nurses as well. Tina our baby nurse was awesome and did a great job. Definitely recommend. Oh I almost forgot- I was swabbed for a rapid Covid test via the nose swab. Masks were worn when the staff entered the room by the staff and also myself. This doctor tried to kill me! This Was Dr. Trantran T Nguyen at South Lake but she is also at ORMC main location. She canceled my transfer to the main hospital after constant neglect, belittling, and wrong administration of medication, along with many other horrid happenings. After everything, she was notified that I requested a different attending and spited me. She took the time to finally call the Dr. I had been requesting for and convince him to cancel my transfer request, well after the evening doctor took such amazing care of me. Immediately I felt her judgment and want to over power my questions and concerns. She absolutely did not want me there and made sure I was not admitted. They had me in an observation room for 2 nights instead of admitting me like a regular patient. She told me that the next time I'm in pain or if I feel good to "not come here" and she pointed at the ground while laughing. Every time she came into my room, I knew the negativity would begin. Worse part of her poor manners was hearing how she loves to say, "you know how it goes and how the healthcare field", as if healthcare workers are sh*tty donkeys that treat you poorly. Meanwhile she was also being condescending about everything and trying to tell me how much she knows because she's a "doctor". I can get technical and say that you're in fellowship and made so many mistakes rookie. The biggest mistake was changing every single medication the previous doctor gave me and administering drugs that in my records and notes I have verbally stated that I am not allowed due to allergies and previous surgeries. So this is definitely a huge issue. She has constantly done things to spite me and as a healthcare worker this is not professional. She's purposely treating me like dirt and I got to the point where I requested a different attending. By the time the morning came and when she was notified when I no longer wanted her she immediately discharge me. Also wanted to add that I ended up needing surgery 3 days later. Thanks for the physical, mental, and emotional abuse Dr. TranTran. Unfortunately she ruined the wonderful reputation Orlando health was founded on to me, and I'm an employee . This is also the closest location to my home in case of emergencies, but I guess since she stated to not return there I will see her at the main. Here is the review I left for Orlando health survey: This doctor was an absolute disgrace. I will be filing a lawsuit. She treated me with wrong medications, didn't listen to my questions, talked over me at all points, belittled me, and INSULTED ME CONSTANTLY. I work with Orlando health at the main location in surgery and I would never return because of this doctor. She is a fellow that thinks she knows it all and continues to purposely hurt you and make you sick. Deleted my transfer request, refused to allow me to ask questions, gave me medications I am ALLERGIC TO, and so much more. I mean, what kind of doctor tells a patient to "not come back to this facility, do not come back here" and " after I had my ultrasound, she told me that "they're gonna do a hida scan on you just to check your gallbladder one more time, but honestly they probably won't find anything there and I'm gonna discharge you". she released me after 2 days of horrible abuse and I ended up having emergency surgery for her neglect that weekend at a different location. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. I was there with my grandparents at around 12:30 AM due to my grandmother experiencing VERY high blood pressure (253/173, heart rate 50) with chest pain/tightness, she was beginning to tremble and cry as well because she thought she was having a heart attack. NOBODY SAW HER. She was sent to sit in the lobby despite having a potentially dangerous medical emergency that could've killed her. My grandfather ended up having to frantically call several other emergency in the area, and thankfully Advent Health was open and took her in immediately including an instant radio for chest pain. Much more competent then whatever idiots you have working here. For almost an HOUR my grandmother was not seen or asked how she was feeling at this hospital, it seems like the staff are too busy talking about whatever gossip they want. I saw the front desk receptionist, some nurse, and security all shooting the breeze together and laughing about some stupid 'thing' that they witnessed. Newsflash it was a mentally handicapped patient, how disgusting is that? I thought HEPPA was a big deal? I thought medical staff were supposed to treat you with kindness and compassion! Especially when all you hear about are how people are being 'nasty' to nurses?? Maybe there's a reason why! It seems like me and my family were not alone on this either, I saw a man and his wife who were there for TWO HOURS leaving, the man's wife was pale and shaking as well as he took her out. There wasn't even any questions when we left either, is that seriously how someone who could potentially die is treated? The hospital was not busy at this time either, we asked a patient who was discharged at the same time as we were leaving and he said 'no'. There was hardly any other patients in the ER. I'm beyond disgusted by this treatment and negligence of staff at this hospital. I'm not alone either as fellow reviewers have said similar things along the lines of how abysmal this place is. I read one review about a woman potentially having a miscarriage and basically being told that 'her issue isn't serious, they have other tending matters'. Absolutely vile, there are no words to describe how nasty this place is. If you want to die come to South Lake, if you want to live go to the Advent Health across the road. read more

It does not treat badly infected wounds caused by the destruction of the epidermis or destruction of the epidermis and dermis by a heredity skin destruction disease, an autoimmune skin destruction disease, and skin destruction caused by a fungal infection, (including Candida), a bacterial infection, (including bacterium Staphylococcus aureus), and a viral infection, (including varicella-zoster virus aka "shingles). Thus, this wound care center is very limited in what it can do for the destruction of the skin, limiting itself only to traumatic wounds. read more

The nursing staff has been amazing here, however, dr Michael anus should learn how to have some basic customer service skills when speaking to people in general, let alone to people who have had serious medical issues. Another fun class I'd recommend would be called "honesty". He's clearly never been in attendance to that class. Also, try to not have an attitude towards your patience's and get scared bc you're too fragile to hear a swear word I wouldn't let him be a dr for me if he was the only one available. If I could give negative 10 stars I would. My aunt was brought in just recently by ambulance. The nurses were lackadaisical. They repeatedly left my aunt in her own urine. (She is incontinent) We requested pads or a diaper. They finally brought in one pad. The have her a portable toilet and then took it away. Supposedly to clean it, but it sat in the bathroom till late evening. (She was not supposed to get out and walk. Hence sitting in her own urine.) She was supposed to be given medicine at specific times so she could be given a colonoscopy. Because of the plethora of incompetent nurses, she WAS NOT given the meds and they HAD to POSTPONE the procedure!!! Not getting the procedure done in a timely manner also postponed her diagnosis AND she had to needlessly in that wretched hospital for another day. If they had followed instructions, she would have received her diagnosis and gone to surgery earlier. I have never seen such an incompetent place. read more

Absolutely the best staff ever! I have had the worst pain in my abdomen and nurse Kelly and Kevin the firefighter medic in the ER literally took the besttttt care of me and made me feel so comfortable and always helped whenever i needed and always kept checking in. Was my first time in a hospital and to be honest i don't think it could've gone better especially considering how scared i was and with so much anxiety (weird to say but TRUE). I'm only giving this hospital a 2 star for 90% of the Nurses and team being the ones who's making this hospital work. Most of these doctors act as if he they no genuine care for the patients or listens to their concerns UNTIL you say you want to be transferred or will go to another hospital. It's a business and they'll keep you only to keep those $$ instead of another place better equipped and with doctors that care. I understand going to the er could mean a long wait time but we've sat here for 3 hours at 1:15 am and no one has called us and there are people who have been here way before us still not being called . The slowest working hospital I've ever been too... Last time I was here it took 4 1/2 hour and got checked on twice and then told some bs problem and some meds . read more

Thank you to South Lake Hospital! We had a young family member staying with us over the summer who ended up breaking out from head to toe in hives. She was having an allergic reaction to something and I needed to have her seen by someone quickly. Being that I am not her legal guardian and she was a minor I was really worried as to how to go about getting her the attention she needed with her parents being far away. No worries, the admitting staff at South Lake knew exactly what to do. They were able to call her parents and get photos of their insurance card sent over along with verifying some other information via phone so that we could get her taken care of. I was at a loss, but again, the staff knew just what to do. Thank you again. You guys rock! read more

If I could give zero stars I would ! I live over an hour away. My niece was scheduled to be induced today, and they have visiting hours only until 9 pm. I drove all the way here from the other side of Orlando and had to leave because of damn visiting hours ! I have two children of my own and I gave birth at two different hospitals that did NOT have these stupid visiting hours. Now I have to drive over an hour back home, just to come back tomorrow ! Why do they not have a lobby that is available for family to wait like EVERY OTHER DAMN HOSPITAL?! Beyond irritated! I wanted to discharge her and take her to another hospital! Ever her own mother had to leave her there, like are you serious ?! Her father came and only spent 5 minutes with her before he had to leave. Then we were forced to leave her there because of these stupid hours. Also, they only allow three people in the room at a time (a huge room at that) something I was disappointed with. I was able to have as many people as I desired at all times of day and night ! Just really disappointed in this place and extremely annoyed ! read more

I have been in terrible pain for the last few days. The worst I've ever been in. I've been taking the strongest painkillers and nothing has worked. I couldn't handle it anymore so I head to SouthLake Hospital. When I arrived the women at the guest desk not the main desk, asked me my name, date of birth, what was wrong. I started to answer her and she immediately shut me down and told me to wait for the main desk to be done when that's what I was already doing. While waiting they kept telling another woman who was in serious pain that she needed to be quiet and they even made the sherif watch her because she was crying and had to go to the bathroom. Off the bat I had a bad feeling about continuing to stay but I was in dire need to get help for the pain. I finally got to the main desk and the woman was very kind, patient and understanding. I then had to wait in the waiting room for 15 minutes so they can check my vitals. As soon as I entered the room. The nurses were extremely rude, forceful, careless & lacking any compassion. I was sobbing because the pain was so horrible and the lady looked at me and told me to shut up and then another came in the room and shushed me with a death stare. I was horrified. I was scared she was going to hurt me. The next nurse asked me multiple questions as usual and when it came up to the "Do you want to kill yourself?" Question. I promptly answered honestly. "I don't want to die but this pain made me want to hurt myself badly because I couldn't handle it." She then said "You don't want to say that." In a very angered tone. She then threatened to put me in a psych facility with the sherif without checking out my pain. They then told me to get out of the room and the next person would take me to a room. A man greeted me. He listened better which was appreciated. Though it seemed as he and the previous nurses had patient profiled me. Next a woman came in to ask even more questions along with a different man. Honestly they were the kindest, most helpful and sympathetic people there. The only good thing about the hospital were those two. The woman was very polite when questioning me and so was the man. I believe his name was Bruce. He actually seemed concerned for my well being and tried to help and figure out the issue and what can be done to solve it. Bruce then consulted with the previous male outside the door unaware that I could hear. The male from before said that "something weird was going on and I'm acting strange and he shouldn't give me anything to take away the pain." I'm sorry I'm in pain. & I'm trying to keep from crying because your nurses threatened me and told me to shush. Bruce was confused and wanted to give me something to help though I guess the other man has authority over him. I then waited about 5 minutes. While waiting I can hear nurses coming up to the man and telling him they need to get rid of the non important people to clear up rooms. I then went to the bathroom. Came out and waited another 2 minutes. Then the man came in told me I'm fine and that he's giving me essentially what I was taking before and something else and I can now leave. I was confused. I was barely in that room for 15 minutes. All he did was print out a paper of my information and told me to leave. Nothing was done to help me. Nothing. & the bill was insane. I would not recommend going to a place where you get mistreated, ignored, not helped & made to feel unimportant. I would recommend making the hour drive to a hospital in Orlando. Better service in a busy town than a small town hospital. Never going back to SouthLake Hospital. read more

The emergency care at the hospital was great. But if you run into a Doctor Karlene Sinclair beware. She wanted to do a surgery that was not needed. No bedside manners at all. I have no ideal why the hospital allows her to practice there. If I ever think I'm going to be admitted to a hospital, I'll take my chance and drive some where else. read more

I am rating 5 star alone on Debbie Duggan. She is a saint and a life saver literally! I wish every person had such a beautiful soul as her... Not only is she thorough but she was the most comforting during the most traumatic event I have ever experienced in my life time thus far! She is one of my Fathers ICU nurses and this is who you want taking care of your loved ones especially in a traumatic event. It was a rocky road at first with South lake because unfortunately good help is hard to find these days. Wish we could have her all day every day because we were assured and finally could sleep better at night knowing my father was in the best hands possible... She treats her patients as if they were her own family which typically should be expected in a nurse and hospital but unfortunately not always as fortunate to have everyone as genuine and compassionate as she is. From the bottom of my heart I wish there was something more I could do for her as she has done for our family... She deserves recognition or more because she shows that she truly loves what she does by helping others because actions speak much louder than words!
