    Urine stains
    Victoria N.

If you like the smell of urine, then this station is for you. Pretty much day and night, people defecate in the lobby, stairwells, and outside around the track. It always smells like urine at this station...never fails Hot tip: do not get here early for your train so you can avoid the putrid smell and use "NJ Transit Departure Vision", which is pretty spot-on with train times.

Listen, I pride myself on being able to follow directions and knowing where to go. But I did find…read morethe signage on the monorail from the Newark Airport to the Airport Train Station confusing. As did countless others. I suppose that is why they have staff standing at the stations yelling which tram is going where. Kind of cracked me up, but if you don't know English, it might not be as funny. Once I arrive at the train station, my train was cancelled. And the times on the screens did not match the times on the NJ Transit schedule (both on their printed and displayed schedule and on their website), so I also found that pretty confusing. Once you enter the train station area, you cannot go back into the main vestibule where there is a pop-up Dunkin' Donuts. Also a bit frustrating when you consider all the confusion and cancellations. However, the staff their were nice and helpful, as many people were confused. Plus, noshing on some Dunking while being delayed is better than noshing on nothing.

We flew into Newark Liberty International airport with the plan of taking the NJ Transit train to…read moreNew York Penn Station. The ride from Newark to Manhattan only took about 30 minutes. I think was more economical than taking an Uber/Lyft, but more importantly the time would have been constant. Don't have to worry about traffic jams or accidents to make the commute time unpredictable. That's the good part. The bad part is that the train seems kind of old and dirty. There's no digital billboard/message system to show you the system map, where you are and what the next stop is. And they didn't even announce the stops on the intercom. I did my homework ahead of time and knew how many stops there were in between EWR and NY Penn Station. Then we went underground and I assumed this was us going under the Hudson River. And as we approached Penn Station and the train was slowing down I was looking around for a sign to confirm I was in the right place. A passenger shouldn't have to know all the stops ahead of time or look out the window to see where they're at. NJ Transit needs to improve in this area.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I had to book a round trip from central NJ to Newark airport and forgot…read morethe name of the car service we used previously. My wife was at work, so I couldn't ask her to remind me. I called MetroPark on April 3rd for a pickup on April 4th and spoke to 'Sid'. He seemed like a nice enough guy although he couldn't seem to either hear or understand what I was saying part of the time. He told me what the price would be for the pickup at our home and for the return trip, I gave him my credit card info and email and he said I would be receiving an email or text confirmation. By the morning of April 4th, I had still not received any confirmation but what I did receive was an almost $400 charge on my card from them. The agreed upon price I got on the phone was $120 each way. I called the main number back at 8:10 am on April 4th, got a different person, told them I had not received confirmation and asked why I was charged so much extra. He was rude and condescending, said it was sent and that I should check my spam email (which I had already done prior to calling), told me the extra fees were for gratuities and other expenses and added that I shouldn't book them if I can't afford it. Keep in mind that this comment comes from a semi-literate working at a taxi stand. Needless to say, I emphatically told him to cancel the service and hoped this would be the end of it. I then called my bank to give them the heads up about these charges as I would be out of the country for over a week. They explained that the charges were still pending, but I at least wanted it to be on record that I contacted them immediately. As I write this on April 13th, the charges were still on my card, so I filed a fraud complaint with my bank and the charges will be taken off. Also, we went with the car service we had previously used and they were honest, charged less, had a clean, new car and were top notch. Even our driver was a pleasure. To summarize, it is much easier to be an honest company who treats their clients with respect and good service than a vampiric parasite who tries to cheat honest people out of their money. You are only hurting yourselves in the long run through loss of business and reputation. MetroPark, are a few extra ill-gotten bucks really worth it?

Driver said thanks and keep them posted. I notified them 3 more times by text and talked to the driver on the phone and he said not to worry, keep him posted. So I did. He said he was at a party, no problem. Never did he tell me I was being charged from the original time. I believed that because I gave over 2.5 hours notice, I wouldn't be charged. I paid $193 for the trip from Metropark to Rumson. They billed me an extra $180 the next day. When I questioned Sid, he was extremely rude. He sent an email threatening to sue me if I write a bad review.
