In my opinion this is not a relaxing type of massage but more of an intense massage where you feel like you just ran 26 miles but after a few hours after the massage you definitely feel all loosened out. They offer a monthly membership or you can drop in. You can also select between whole body massage or target a specific area. Definitely recommend phila massages for those looking for an intense deep tissue sports massage.

Cue Pain Away. This place was a wild 30 minute ride. I went in for neck pain after a colleague at the gym recommended it. I walked in and the only words exchanged were "how long?" "30 minutes" I reply. A woman spawned from nowhere and guided me to a room where she signaled to get undressed. I did so, laid down, and the massage begun. This woman came back in and I was tense for the next 30 minutes. She put her whole backbone into this massage. I was in a constant state of pain, letting out squeals here and there. Nevertheless, she persisted. At the end of the 30 minutes, she stopped as abruptly as she started. Sweet relief. I walked out to pay and she handed me water. It was nice. I waited until the next day to write this review because my neck truly does feel a LOT better. So, Pain Away did its job, and I would certainly come back!

But the thing that finally made the muscles in my neck and back calm down, and let me live a little, was a series of massages from Julia Taylor. I went through six sessions over a couple months. I've recommended her to friends, and they've all gone back to her repeatedly. Her prices are quite reasonable - $85 for a 75 minute session; $100 for 90 minutes. She also frequently runs package specials - get on her email list to find out about these. Be warned - she usually runs a little long with her sessions. It might wreak a little havoc on your schedule, but who can complain about a few extra minutes of massage?
