Life guard on duty @ the main beach area but not beyond the stone jetty. Small snack bar. New stone restrooms. BBQ grills, picinic tables, recycling. Beach is raked wkly. Long ample parking lot along the back of the beach except on holiday/weekends.

It was super warm and enjoyable, the beach was huge and sandy, and since it was May there was practically no one there/it was not crowded at all. Free large public beach, that I imagine gets quite popular and fun in the summertime! Would recommend and if I lived in the area I'd very likely be coming back too :)

Last time I came it cost $60, now it is $100…read more Because that is way too pricy, many people decided to park close by and just walk in for $25 per family. Getting out to the main road was a total nightmare, when every one was leaving at the same time. The sand is rough with a million seashells to step on. It's so bad I kept my slippers on, even in the water. Although there's a lot of algae, the water is so clean there were guppies swimming around. There was a few people past the water border and the life guard wasn't paying attention. My daughter told me she almost drowned, so I told her to stay on the sand with us for the rest of the day.. because when I glanced over the guard was too busy chatting with a girl instead of watching the water. Good thing the food line was small when we ordered fries. Brianna was friendly. The fries tasted warm and fresh. A few hrs later the line was way too long, which sucked because I would have bought some more juice when I ran out. We came in 10 am, the people collecting admissions were very nice. By the time the evening came the beach was overcrowded, some people were walking on my blanket; not sure if this is legal to have so many people occupying such a small space. The show was really pretty, but I rather not come here again.

I'm a Bridgeport resident so the entry was $100. We didn't think it was worth it so we headed home. Then we changed our minds like whatever. We made a wrong turn & to our surprise we found a public parking around the corner. We were beyond delighted. Although we found public parking it was $25 per family for walk-ins. Attendants up front @ the admission entry were very friendly & nice! Ocean water was very clean you could see the fishes. We loved it. Make sure you bring water shoes there are a ton of seashells & rocks in the sand & water. Fireworks show was amazing! The only thing was we were caught up in traffic when it ended which sucked. The show was sooo worth it though! Hope all you Yelpers had a happy 4th! I know I did!

A super adaptable park, here you can get your cardio along the walking trail or workout equipment…read more You can stroll slowly between the sand and clam beds, or you can sit and watch the waves, or let your kids have fun at the playgrounds. Though you need resident parking during swim season, it's a great winter escape for all between Labor Day and Memorial Day. People decorate memorial benches for the winter holidays, and jingle bell horse rides go on during the December holiday season. It's a park near and dear. At some point we'll make it to the museum, but the historic interpretative signs helped us make do. Kids can sled the hills by the entrance, and everyone can find beach glass along the cove itself. Whether you're looking for nature or exercise, this is a great local escape.

Anytime day or night all year long the views are spectacular. I like there are police cars that patrol the area just to let us know a friendly face is in the area. I feel blessed every day that I live in Norwalk. The sense of community is strong at this park. You can see it in the eyes of the people as they greet strangers along the way, parents as they make sure to deposit their garbage in the cans in order to keep the park clean and the dog parents that pickup after them when the go. I have recently seen a festival take place at the top of the hill. It was impressive to see the port o potties make there way up there. When the festival was done the park was spotless.

Twin Brooks Park is a very beautiful and well maintained park. It has a nice paved walking/bike…read morepath with flowers and trees that bloom in spring and summer. There are a total of 5 ponds/lakes, two of which people sometimes fish at. There are swings (in very good condition) and a playground that is suitable for kids around age 4-13. In the winter Twin Brooks has easily the best sledding hill in a 10 mile radius. It's such a good sledding hill that it can actually be dangerous due to the sheer distance. With most sleds you don't have to worry but with high quality inner tubes you can generate a lot of speed. Sledding not your thing? No problem! There is also an extensive network of mountain biking/hiking trails in the woods to the north of the park. In fact you can mountain bike or hike from Beach Memorial Park all the way to Twin Brooks! Twin Brooks is beautiful in all 4 seasons, just don't forget your Trumbull parking pass. If you don't have one there is street parking on Franklin Street.

The five acre park was donated to the town from the estate of Elizabeth Ballard in 1964 and has been the site of countless events including concerts, parties, town events and quiet reflection. Stately trees, formal gardens, ornamental shrubs and flowers reflect the beauty of changing New England seasons and provide a safe, central place for contemplation and recreation. In order to preserve, protect, and improve the park's functionality, the Friends of Ballard Park Project are working with the Town of Ridgefield and the Department of Parks and Recreation.
