Rocky beach and no waves because it's on the bay. Parking is $22 for non residents. Wish the water was clearer but it's natural. Brought water shoes but didn't really need them if you're careful. They have an East beach and West beach within park. West allows bbqs, larger fields and nice views. East beach is more like a beach due to lifeguard staff. Attendents at gate harrassed and aggressively continued to aggitate my daughter in law over no dog…read morerule after my son exited car and walked of property. They called ahead to explain they were there only for a 20 minute photo shoot and was told it was ok for dog to stay in car .. absolutely unprofessional.. then called cops because son got out of car with dog at gate and had to walk off property but they said dog was on property even walking of the property. May be a beautiful beach but attendents were aggressive and made a chaotic scene in front of lil children. . 3 hour drive to get told no entrance with dog who again wasn't going out of car for the 20 mins they would be there .. but before attacking my children they took her $22 and then tried to say my daughter in law and kids couldn't enter. I'm very upset as a parent and we have dash cam footage to prove their actions .. while she did the shoot a ranger followed and taunted her the whole 20 mins while trying to do her professional photo shoot .. they were instigating a reaction more than what already had occured. I'm a seriously mad momma bear and will be making a phone call to the park authority

Parking can be paid using the ParkMobile app. Might be more worth it for locals who come regularly to jog/walk...but I can't say the $6 fee is worth it for visitors unless they have other interested there...i.e. attending a game.

Trial class scared the child as there were no accommodations to welcome or educate on the routine. Fear developed quickly so a second attempt a week later was scheduled in hopes it was an anomaly but it wasn't. Things went from bad to worse. Office staff wanted to charge us as a second trial visit which was fine but they were ignoring the trauma in development and the submitted paperwork of enrollment (showing clear commitment but reticent due to 3 yr old reaction. We got through that, then there was the inflexibly and insensitive approach yet again as our daughter walked into the gym space. Less than 5 minutes and tears were like a river!!! We tried to dork out an option to arrive 15 minutes early in hopes to get a "show and tell" of the environment but the front desk were so closed minded even that wasn't an option. This place has tours groups you can go on an expedition with, or if you want just rent the kayaks and make your own adventure. I went renting the kayaks. I would say wear something comfortable, but good for the conditions as you will be out on the river for an hour or two. And don't forget your sunscreen!
