I needed a mirror replacement for 1of 3-mirror doors in a med cabinet. A new cabinet was $400+ & I hoped to avoid that cost/project. The repair was far more difficult than I thought (separating old mirror from backing & laminating new mirror). Grace, Duane & I considered alternatives. Everyone commented on my cloudy, double pane windows and the degraded views they created. The windows were so bad we could barely see outside from half of them. We looked into window replacement but the related cost was outrageous. We decided to look into replacing just the glass instead. Best decision ever! Our experience with South Town Glass began amazing. Thomas was our initial contact and he was so helpful, very professional, with exceptional communication with us. We had worked very hard to complete a bathroom remodel and selected South Town as the company that we felt could help us complete the shower project. On the first delivery, the door to the shower was not cut even, requiring that they remove and replace the shower door. During the second attempt the installers place the hinge at the bottom and inadvertently drilled through our heated flow system. As a result we had to have our Tiler come back, take up a portion of our floor, have the electrician come and repair the floor and then have the Tiler come back to re tile. The next replacement door was installed only to find that the door height was 2" to short. Once again the door had to be re-ordered and then eventually after some weeks replaced. During this ordeal my husband spoke with the manager of the store to discuss the cost of the heated floor repair, and the tile costs. Our experience became worse, when we were informed that he would not cover any of the additional costs we had for the floor repair and insinuated that his installers do not make mistakes. We were left "holding the bag " for a costly repair. The final door was installed without difficulty, however the heated floor is still in the process of repair from that damage. If this were a reputable company, they would have worked to help us through the additional financial costs. . . If this company had integrity they would have helped us. Buyer beware . . . if you have issues don't expect that they will try to help you!! This is not a dependable company!!! read more

Still waiting for a proposal. On April 29, they came to my home to measure for a project. On May 7 I still hadn't received a proposal, so I called. I was told one of people who prices projects like mine was on vacation. I was told my project would be on his desk so he could get to it first thing Monday morning. First, they screwed-up our original order for our new shower door, which put our bathroom being completed by 3 weeks. Then, when they had the glass and came out to install it, they didn't have all the hardware necessary to install it properly. When asked if they would be going to get the missing hardware, the indicated they would if they were paid an hourly rate of $100. Poor customer service. These people are scam artists because they are one of the only companies that sell custom glass in the city. My advise: Go with anyone else! Working with South Town has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Bummed to say I had a bad experience with Southtown. Paid over $1k to replace a few small glass window panels. Placed order and waited weeks beyond expected order and never heard back about an installation date - no communcation from STG. Called to check on order and staff didn't know what the issue was. Eventually someone called back with a much later install date than expected. Upon installation they arrived outside of the installation window and did not have the right glass for the window. They had to come back 2 more times and both times had the wrong window glass again. Both times they came I was not home because they came 2 hours before the installation window when only my daughter was home. I called to share my concerns, especially because we had to adjust work schedules and take time off multiple times. They just blamed it on the outide production company and took 0 responsibility and did not offer any discount for the trouble. Honestly...just disapointed they didn't make it right. Our house was broken into while we were out of town, and the perpetrator smashed through the sliding glass patio door on the back of our house. When we arrived home we called South Town Glass on the recommendation of a neighbor, and due to the circumstances they gave it top priority. They had someone out the same day to measure the door, and they took the frame (which was undamaged) back to the shop and ordered the replacement glass. Within a few days they delivered the frame with the new glass and installed it all within a few minutes. They were fast, friendly, reasonably price, and showed a great deal of empathy for our situation. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

I called South Town Glass inquiring about window screens. The person I spoke with informed me the window measurements needed to precise due to the frames having a device which lock into the window frames. When I arrived a few minutes before the appointment time the person from South Town glass appeared annoyed and despite my (quite unnecessary) apology he said nothing. After measuring a few windows he told me I would need hardware for the frames. I informed him I was told the measuring needed to be precise due to not having additional hardware. He said this was due to my windows being old this was not the case. I then replied the information I received was misleading as I then, could have measured the windows myself. At this point the guy was CLEARLY annoyed and said this information was not misleading as this was an old house and they could not have known that. The next window I asked him to measure he indicated it was a unusual size and said I don't think we will do that one and he didn't bother to measure it. I offered to pay for the service fee though he said in parting they would give me an estimate for the job and then said sometimes "We don't always take on jobs". Two weeks have passed and I have heard nothing from them. After he left I just shook my head in amazement. He clearly acted like I should be so lucky to have them vs I was a customer. This business seems way to exclusive for my taste. AVOID THIS PLACE read more
