Our house was built in 1995 and the windows had been replaced once (according to neighbors) but they were very cheap quality. With the heat we've had the past few summers and then the snow that seems to be a yearly event now, we thought it was time to get a really good widow upgrade. We also wanted out house painted after installation and Clear Choice set that up for us as well. (See my review for Triple A Painting). What we loved most about dealing with Clear Choice Windows & Doors was the personalized service we received. They have a large selection of window frame materials to choose from and our choice of fiberglass was an easy one. It was explained to us that fiberglass windows are stronger than both vinyl and wood, making them incredibly resilient to weather and climate -- perfect for PNW homeowners. From start to finish, our team of window installers provided friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and it took only two days to install the 10 new windows in our home. Before, during and after, the team cleaned up and kept the work site tidy at all times. There was minimal damage to our landscaping as well. We can feel a definite difference in the inside temperature of our house since the new windows were installed. Our AC doesn't seem to work as hard and it takes less time to cool off in the summer and to heat in the winter. I wish there was a zero star option. I'm a general contractor and I had a horrible experience with Clear Choice. Once they got the sale everything fell apart. They dropped the ball on every aspect of the job after they made the sale. Ordering botched, measuring botched, installation botched, cleanup after install botched, left their roof jacks and planks on the roof for 6 months after repeated calls to remove them. We have used Clear Choice three times now. During the last time we used them to replace a window frame that was leaking water into the house. The crew that came out was very new and completely botched the job, breaking siding along the way. To Clear Choice's credit they sent out a more senior team member to fix the issue and said they would replace the siding. Unfortunately because they had to cover up all the issues the window frame is now twice the width of all my other window frames. Once the siding arrived I paid Clear Choice to paint the trim and siding. The crew came out to fix the siding and get things painted but they said they only would paint the trim even though I agreed with the project manager, Luke, that the siding would be painted as well since they broke the siding in the first place. In April the trim was painted and they said they would come back out to do the siding but they never came. After multiple messages to Luke and then to our original sales rep, Jeff (who is lovely!), we still do not have our siding painted. Jeff did everything he could to escalate the matter but after months of back and forth it is clear that Clear Choice does not have great internal communication between sales and the working technicians since even a small job could not be resolved despite multiple efforts from myself and their own colleague, Jeff. While we appreciate the work Clear Choice has done for us over the last several years, we will not be using them in the future, as I now need to buy paint and find another service to come out and paint our siding (which Clear Choice broke), leaving me in the negative for this project. read more

During installation, the crew added shims that lifted the door frame, which caused the door to lose the proper clearance needed to slide smoothly. As a result, it would not open and close properly. It took 3 service visits to cut out the excess shims to correct the problem. read more

My new glass sliding door was just installed by Dawson and Seth who worked together seamlessly as a team. It was pleasant to have them in my home for a good part of the day to carefully remove the existing door, prep the opening so the new one would fit, and install the new one, and replace my interior trim. I purchased a 2000 condo and realized they used the lowest grade windows, and 6 of them are in desperate need to be replaced. I called Clear Choice Window and they did a great job from beginning to end. From estimating the cost (trying to fit as many windows into my budget), taking detailed measuring and installing the windows, everyone was professional, friendly and helpful. During the installation, I gave them full access to my place while I was at work. The guys took care of everything and I was relief when I returned for expectation. Not only I ended up with beautiful new windows, the house remain clean and untouched! Only minor complaint I have, is that I had to call a few times to make sure my appointment was on track, but it's no deal because I want to get it done before I can repaint my house. Josh and staff were very professional up front and honest with window brands and quality of various products. I was really concerned about spending a lot for subpar quality and Josh was very patient to answer my questions and provide sound insight to various brands and their features. Ended up going with Milgard and I am very happy. A couple months in and the condo is at least twice as warm and half the cost to heat. No complaints about the product or installation. I think we got the best warranty and product for the money I was able to spend. Would definitely chose clear choice again if we sell and need windows again elsewhere. read more

We purchased a home and decided to invest in new windows. It was 17 windows plus a sliding glass door, so it was a large project. I was told that the project would take 2-3 days. It took around 2 months from beginning to end for it to actually be complete, given the number of things that went wrong. -the crew broke one of the brand new windows that they installed the day after they installed it by throwing an extension cord through a different window -random people showed up at our house to have lunch with the crew -window in master bedroom was installed crooked. They pulled the window out and reinstalled it but it's still crooked -windows were caulked over saw dust, so the caulk did not stick. I personally recaulked ALL but two windows, which a crew came back to fix -vinyl frame around sliding door was damaged, so they had to come back to fix that -the crew did not caulk the bottom of several exterior windows, which created an opportunity for water damage -a screen was installed that was already torn MOST of these things were fixed over the course of 2 months, but not without us having to take time out of our days to accommodate having the crew come back over and over again. We were never offered any discount for the issues, or for the disrespect that was shown to our home and our time. I spoke with the owner several times, and although he seemed to care about our issues and the way that the crew treated our project, I still am left feeling like we were ripped off. If it had not been for my complaining, we would have been left an incomplete job. They have NEVER come back to paint the exterior trim that they installed several months ago, though I paid the project in full in November. We were told they would come back to paint, though I have never heard from them. I would not recommend them. read more

They didn't even bother responding until a week later and apparently don't want my business which if fine by me if they can't even be bothered to offer options for my other windows. I've worked with dozens of home improvement companies over the years and can confidently say that Clear Choice has been the best experience I've ever had. From their customer service to the quality of their work/product, I've been incredibly impressed by everyone I've interacted with. The night before our windows were set to be replaced, we made a mess of the trim by attempting to strip the paint. In a panic, we contacted Mo, who sat on the phone with us for over an hour, helping us try to salvage what we could. We ended up needing to reschedule and get new trim, but he was patient and kind every step of the way. The guys who did the installation were also phenomenal. The day that they do our windows, sliding door and french sliding door we both are excited for that day, mostly for our new french sliding door but when the workers came in and told us that they dont have our doors, the very kind weird part is they dont know where the door are !! So i thought at least the sales (Jeff) or the company will let us know where is it and when they gonna install our doors. They didnt email us or at least call us and explained it whats going on ??? I had the windows on the east side of our house replaced in 2016. This year we discovered a leak in a fixed window so I immediately called Clear Choice to see what could be done. Mo spent over a half hour on the phone with my husband and I explaining what the cause could be since it didn't seem like an installation problem. After helping us trouble shoot it was determined that the leak should be reported to Milgard. He gave us the contact number, looked up our contract number which was needed to report the problem. It is rare to find a company that will still support you years after the work was done especially when it wasn't faulty work. I did get an estimate from Clear Choice. The estimator who came out was very professional, and at the time time I felt thorough. I did have a good impression. Though in getting other bids that did change. Tim was great and did a lead test, presented a window choice that suited my budget and house, and did explain how their company worked. What was lacking in the end I learned was more detail about the windows themselves. I'm not knowledgeable on windows at all. I learned a great deal in this process, and I did learn a lot from Clear Choices visit. However, I didn't learn what makes a window more energy efficient than others. I learned from another provider what a U factor was, why that is important and what other values are important in looking at windows. I was not presented with this info for this estimate here. The U-value was stated on the quote but I didn't ask about it, for I didn't realize the important of learning the values of a window that are important to pay attention to. Tim was sensitive to my budget issues, and answered many questions that I did have or at least know to ask. They are well rated by the CCB, Yelp, etc... no question. However, the windows once I learned about the U factor were medium efficient windows at a .30, which reflects a lower cash incentive rebate as well. I didn't learn about egress windows which were recommend by someone else too for the bedroom areas. In the end, I went with another installer who was/is also well rated, but more thorough information wise. I'm getting triple pane windows versus double pane, and for thousands less than quoted to me here. All this said, I still don't have anything negative really to say about Clear Choice. I just am someone who prefers knowing all the details and technical stuff that I don't even know to ask. There are many positives about this company and I can see why there are well rated and why people choose Clear Choice. They do all the work in house, guarantee their windows/work, etc...I just went a different direction that seemingly was a much better choice for me and my house. I'm able to do much more with better energy efficient window (.24), with bigger rebates, and all of my windows done. It wasn't an apples to apples comparison really. I do have a 1940's house, and single pane single hung old windows. So the jump to triple pane was actually less than double pane. I went with someone who doesn't have overhead or other employees too. Anyhow, I really appreciate Clear Choice for coming out and giving me an initial estimate. Thank you kindly. read more

The salesman was always available and responded to questions and concerns quickly. Everyone made sure I understood and was happy with every step of the project. The installers were efficient and professional (friendly, even). They did a great job of making the final job look great and cleaning up after themselves as well. Also, the cost was very competitive and the quality of the widows and doors is very good. They had a good selection of products to choose from, so I could be sure of getting what I was looking for. Not everything went perfectly smoothly, I have to report. On a project as big as this one, that is to be expected. Several things I really liked, 1) they worked with several brands of window manufacturers so I could choose the one I wanted; 2) Joshua was very responsive, customer oriented for sure, I highly recommend working with him; 3) our siding was not originally cut to a precise arch (back in the 70's) so they had to come back and recut siding to fit properly. They did a fabulous job. 4) Their admin department prepared our rebate paperwork, walked me through what I had to do, he made that part easy.
