It is a little confusing on how to enter the building, but once in, it is a great space. I love the artwork, and sculptures. This time I went on a Sunday to the craft show and a lot of the businesses were closed, but there were many open as well including a unique shop that sold knickknacks and chalk paint, a cute coffee shop, a mystical shop, and a children's book store.

When I say the store is endless- you think you've hit a dead end and then all of sudden a new section opens up like a black hole sucking you in. Most times I'm overwhelmed but this much inventory but the each booth was so well organized and prices were clearly visible that it made browsing so much fun and enjoyable. Staff were also all scattered about and willing to help patrons. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time when you go so that you can browse peacefully. Owner Dalida Atallah has really brought something special to Rochester with Dado. One trip to her store and you will understand her aesthetic, the girl has impeccable taste. If that's not enough the store is impossibly clean with each of the garments hung perfectly spaced apart while center tables hold accessories. A type A personality who understands the importance of presentation? Whats not to like?! Be warned: Though Dado is just minutes down the street from Marshalls and TJ Maxx, it is expensive. The store carries high end brands like Elizabeth & James and more popular brands like French Connection but don't let that scare you away, Atallah has great sales (Up to 30% off) often so its worth a visit. Perhaps some holiday money could buy you a fabulous New Years Eve dress. It's possible you've gotten a glimpse of what Dado has to offer if you've attended any of the local fashion shows. Most recently a Dado show raised over $100,000 for the Wilmot Cancer Center. A small business helping a local charity makes my 8 minute drive to Pittsford worth while. He sells the red and white Fairport sweatshirts that everyone in town has, but he also sells new-old-stock clothing, shoes and accessories. He's a salesman from another time, he will often compare his prices to Sibley's, McCurdy's and B. Forman Co. Any Rochesterian would know that those department stores have long since closed... Not Mr. Barranco, those stores are still the major players in the Rochester area and he's doing a service to you by offering his items at such low prices... (which they are). I'm amazed at how he has managed to stay in business for so long. I'd go on about all the great treasures you can find here, but you're just going to have to see it for yourself; it's a total time capsule. For many years, he didn't have a card machine. Since he was cash only, I remember trying to explain to Mr. Barranco that I had to run to the ATM. He was confused and said "the bank isn't open on Saturdays." He was concerned that I was not going to be able to withdraw the money from my account. On a recent visit, I was surprised to hear that his older register broke down and somebody sent him into the 21st century. He now accepts cards, but it takes him awhile to figure out all the space age technology before him. I love this place, he seems to have an endless source of great vintage clothing and his prices can't be beat! Every visit I make to Fairport is accompanied by a requisite visit to Barranco's.
