Words can't express the depth of help that Dr. Daya has given my family. Our story began years ago at Go Dental in Calgary when I took my 4 year old little boy to the dentist. We were told that my son needed a large amount of dental work thanks to our inherited lack of enamel genetics. Knowing that, my son had the worst fears when it comes to needles and doctors. So once we had our xrays, we were told of the amount of work that was needed. My son was referred to someone who specialized in pediatric sedation dentistry. The quote that I was given from the specialist was more than any single working mom who was attending university part time could ever afford. After crying in my van quietly after our specialist appointment while my son watched a video in the back I pulled myself together and called back the dentist office who referred us and told her the situation and that the option of sedation dentistry wasn't an option at all. She then told me about Dr. Daya who seemed to have an amazing way with kids and that she thought I should come in and just see what she could do for us. From the minute we met Dr. Daya we have felt like family. I felt all my fears and worries regarding my son's anxiety towards the whole situation disappear. My very nervous, anxious, and scared little boy at the age of 4 was able to bring in his blanket and a teddy to squeeze when he got too scared. Dr. Daya told my son a story of what was going to happen to his bad teeth before she even had a chance to look into his mouth. She sat beside him and made jokes and talked about things that were interesting in his world. We needed to visit Dr. Daya 5 times in order to get all the work that was needed to be done. However on the last visit we were booked with a different dentist at Go Dental which didn't fly very well for my son at all. He had a full blown panic attack in the chair once he had seen that Dr. Daya wasn't the dentist. One of the receptionists had actually called Dr. Daya in the middle of all of this to let her know of the situation. Dr. Daya who had already worked beyond a full day was going to come back into the office just for my son. Tears rolled down my cheeks when I was told this by the receptionist but my beyond scared little boy was too over the top upset that it would have to wait for another day. But my heart was filled with love knowing that Dr. Daya was willing to come in and be so kind just to help my son. Beyond anything I could have asked for in a dentist. Fast forward a few years, Dr. Daya had transitioned into her own practice at South Trail Crossing Dental. Dr. Daya has always had an amazing team alongside her and her office is one of the most kindness and happiest dental offices I have ever seen. Dr. Daya has always been a true joy to be around regardless of the slight fear my son still holds towards getting dental work done. Except now he knows that there's no hard feelings, he gets a hug before and after all dental work, so in his eyes it is a Win Win situation! Absolutely love Dr. Daya and her team. read more
