5 stars for customer service! Brandon and his intern were awesome. They worked in 90 degree heat up on the roof to make sure they had to best access point to set everything up. He explained everything and the reasoning behind it all. Prices are higher than we are use to, but our options are limited in our area. But... for the customer service that is provided, it's headache free and they really do care about the issue and will figure out a solution. That alone is a rare find these days! read more

I have used SVI as my internet service provider since I moved to San Martin in 2018. Their customer service has been great. A live person answers their calls and, in my experience, have always been extremely helpful. My last two internet issues were related to lack of wifi to my barn where we operate our small farm shop. We were preparing for an event that required reliable internet service to our barn. Brandon and Mark came out the same day I called on both occasions and took all measures to resolve my issue. Brandon's customer services is second to none. Exceptional. He even followed up to for a status check to ensure all is still well. This level of service is hard to find these days. I've been an SVI email-only customer for several months, meaning I only have an email account with South Valley Internet, but use another service provider to get on the Internet. I did this because my Internet service provider's email system was absolutely horrible: The incoming spam filter couldn't be turned off, sucking important messages into its black hole; it refused to let me send some legitimate, important messages, rejecting them as spam; and, its Web-mail interface was terrible, constructed with Adobe Flash, software that is obsolescent and being dropped from an increasing number of operating systems and devices. Complaints were generally ignored and customer service was next-to-nonexistent. My experience with SVI has been exactly the opposite. I'm dealing with real, local people. When I visit the office, I'm treated courteously and they are attentive to my needs. Technical support is available by phone, by email or in person. I was able to get the service set up exactly the way I needed, opting out completely from spam filtering, so I get all of my messages. SVI offers two different Web mail interfaces, neither one requiring anything more than an ordinary Web browser, with no third-party plug-ins. They bill for three months in advance. I just got my first recurring invoice, and I'm going to continue being a customer, as I haven't had a single problem in my first three months. UPDATE, April 2014: I no longer can recommend South Valley Internet. Without warning, a few days ago they stopped permitting flexible SMTP usage, forcing one's email address in outgoing messages to precisely match the email account as set up at their facility. In effect, it amounts to outgoing message filtering that makes their service useless for both personal and business purposes. Their explanation for making this move was to prevent SVI from being blacklisted, and they are absolutely rigid in this matter. It may serve their purposes, but it doesn't serve my needs. In essence, they treat all their customers as spammers unless proven otherwise, and they're not interested in proof. I will be looking for someone else to handle my business. read more

I have worked with South Valley Internet as one their partners and suppliers for over a year now professionally, and I am impressed by the level of personal care and service that they strive to give their customers and suppliers alike. I have been a Yelp reviewer for many years now. When I am passionate about someplace I have been...good or bad...I want to share my experience. I come onto Yelp to look for recommendations myself, and feel I should do the same. In my experience, most people that complain (most...not all) might have had one bad meal, or looking for something to be comped if they complain, come onto Yelp and give a bad review hoping to get something for free. RARELY do you see happy customers come onto Yelp to take the time to share positive experiences, so yes...most technology companies will get the complainers coming onto Yelp to...complain. When was the last time YOU came onto Yelp to just talk about how good your TV or internet service was? So lets be real...most of the "other than 5 star" reviews here are mostly likely disgruntled customers who are looking for something free or had one bad experience. I personally would much rather give my business to a local business that cares about it's clients, than another big-box cable company where I am just another number. Upon moving to my new place, SVI was actually the best provider for my location to get internet services. I've been using SVI for about 4-5 years now and one thing I will definitely say is they have the BEST customer service team. This is one of the biggest benefits of being a customer of SVI, since it is a smaller company compared to other IP's the response times are fast and the service is even better. My SVI Fiber was turned on recently and it has been a blast. Folks at SVI have been very helpful and accommodating. They listened to my concerns and addressed my requests during the installation of fiber. I work from home and rely on high-speed Internet for my audio and video conference calls. My kids have been streaming on their devices without any issue. There is no latency and the connection has been rock solid. My Wifi randomly runs speed test during the day. These speed test runs show that I am getting 920+ Mbps. Great job SVI for bringing the fiber to our neighborhood! read more

I have known the owners of South Valley Internet for almost a year now professionally and I am quite impressed by the level of service that they strive to give their customers. I have been in their offices and their staff is very friendly and responsive. I hear them answer customer service calls and their customer care is stellar. I do not say this lightly, as I am very particular about who I recommend, but I believe South Valley Internet is on a mission to become the leading internet provider of the area. They are working on expanding their services and I earnestly see how hard they try to please customers. An example of their customer care is the Hawaiian Luau they just threw for ALL of their customers to celebrate their 25th year in business. Around 200-250 clients came out and ate and drank to their heart's content on South Valley's dime. SVI wanted to give back to their customers for being loyal customers. These are the kind of owners they are. In the last few months, because of the level of care that I've seen, I switched my internet service over to them to give them a shot. Well, I have to say that I'm very happy with my service. The speed is comparable to what I had, but the service is much more personable. I am in awe that is 2018, I pay 150 bucks a month for 50mbps, and still only pull about 7-15mbps in peak hours regardless of that. How I pay so much for "claimed" speeds and still can't even play an online game without constant rubberbanding and ping that goes up and down like a wack-a-mole game. There is no consistency in service. Its point to point internet and I get that, so I expected to be dropping what the "claimed" speed of 50mbps was down to lets say 30-35 consistently. That is not the case though. Most days and hours outside of like 3 in the morning we exist at around 15mbps. I have a 250 dollar router, am hardwired from the POE to the router, then to my computer and then have gone as far to pull every other thing on the network off in hopes to get more solid performance to no avail. Whats really the worst part though is when you call in and get blatantly lied to and met with hostility. The techs most the time are fine over the phone and I have had multiple explain to me that I should not be experiencing the issues. Yet the company doesn't offer a resolution. It is what it is and that's it. Last time I called in the lady on the other side literally fought with me, raised he voice, and offered nothing even close to an apology over the poor service vs high cost that we as customers pay. They do NOT care. All I want is consistent ping so I dont lag out and fly around everywhere in an online fps game. I can deal with the slower speed. Please, just fix your ping issues! So that I don't have to wait on constant buffers during peek hours just to stream an HD stream on two devices and have a horrible experience when I try to hop on and play an online game. I literally have had better and more consistent internet in 2005 for half the cost. Please improve the quality of your service, both in the product you offer and your customer support. If you're going to disregard your customers priorities...at least do it with a smile and don't show your constant irritation that we are calling in for support. read more

This is crazy....they ban my Email and want me to debug their code, not even mentioning that they closed my problem out without notifying me. ------- Richard, As far as the last notes on the closed ticket 23795 as you initially reported, Steve in Tier III added your address to Donald's Whitelist & Donald advised everything was good at that time. As for the banned content, it's typically something with either key words/phrases, attachments, images, URL addresses or signatures within the email itself. If you send a standard email without any of the forementioned, it should go through without an issue. If so, then start narrowing down where it's being caught - send test email with the signature if you use one, send another with an image, send another with an attachment, etc. if any of them fail, then you've found your issue. If none fail, then you should be good to go. Thank you. We have been a loyal paying customer for 3 years. Over the New Years holiday they left me and hundreds of other customers without internet for 6 days! When you called over the holiday it went straight to there answering service and they never knew anything that was going on. Finally when SVI opened on Jan 2nd the internet started working again - coincident?? I think not! They are making up some stupid story that another internet provider is running interference on the Victor tower and that is why I didn't have internet for 6 days. No! It is because your company went to Tahoe to go skiing and your CEO is an idiot and probably didn't even bother to have your answering service contact one of the main IT guys to fix it. Have I gotten an apology from SVI? No! Have they called to give me statement credit? No! I had to call them and tell them if they didn't give me 1 month for free that I was switching internet companies. Still haven't heard back from Claudia - so bye bye SVI. I am working with Bulletwireless.net and Etheric networks. I know there has only been SVI and Frontier (with there data cap) on the market for years and years, but thank goodness there is more competition now and both of these companies are offering better speed for lower price. Man if only San Martin had another option for Internet. But unfortunately they do not. Unless we get Verizon and it's expensive. Therefore my family has had your internet for over 6 plus years. And for us to receive the POOR customer service that my father in law has received. This company should be shut down, for the poor communication that the employees have, we have a lot of communication with our wifi and my father in law has called at least once a week to complain about it. Sometime once every two weeks he has to call and have somebody come down to check the connections. And the last time they sent a guy over. That major attitude he recommend a router by a specific brand. That he looked up on his phone on GOOGLE. So then my wife ordered it for me the house. And when It worked for two weeks and then it failed again. He called again for help. And they end up sending the same TECH and he checks everything out. And this is where it gets interesting after he checks the connection he asks my father in law. What made him get the brand of router and where did he purchase the router. So he replys we'll my daughter ordered it off the internet. And you actually recommended me to buy this one. He then responds "no I never tell anybody what to buy" my father in law frustrated now says REALLY! You sat in my kitchen table and looked up some on your cell phone and told me to get that one! The brand and everything he told him. And he denied it so my father in law told him to finish up and to then call his Boss. He said his name was Joe. And was told he wasn't in at the moment. That went on also on the next day he called back. And they told him he would return his call in two hrs. That never happened and til this day he hasn't called him. And when we call to ask for the owner we get told he is not in. This is totally unprofessional and you should do something about It. If I can give no stars I would but you get the 1 that Yelp allows. I was extremely impressed with their event, planning, attention to detail to ensure every attendee was welcomed and appreciated. After the party, there were many emails thanking SVI for not only putting on a fabulous event, but more importantly, thanking them for outstanding service and products. There were long time customers as well as new ones. This was great to see. I just got off the phone with Steve from SVI, having had tech out here multiple times in the last year, having very slow internet forever, last time brought out a lift to help assist them to do their job, cut down trees for a clear path, etc., still same problems. Steve admitted on the phone our speed is slow, and basically told me if I can't a lift out here for them to get on my roof, then maybe I should find a new internet company.
