I wasn't bloated and it almost look like I didn't get my teeth taken out because everything was done the right way. Dr. Maguire was my surgeon and he was terrific. I am scared when it comes to needles but he made it painless and quick! I got prescribed pain meds right away and now I can move and talk just fine! I recently had a new patient visit and cleaning at Hartford Dental Associates and was very…read moreimpressed. My appointment started on time, a huge plus from the beginning. Everyone was very friendly and conversational. First, Heidi (Dental Assistant) took all of my x-rays and photographs of my teeth; she was very thorough. Next, I had my exam with Dr. Berry, who was also friendly, and I could tell he likes to joke around, which was nice, given a lot of people are anxious during dental appointments. I had a few questions, which he answered and explained next steps. Lastly, Brittnae (Registered Dental Hygienist) did my cleaning. She measured all of my periodontal pockets -- something I've never had done before, so I was highly impressed by the level of attention and care they give their patients. Brittnae explained everything she was doing and answered all of my questions. Most importantly, she was very gentle on my teeth and gums during the cleaning. The office takes all COVID safety precautions, which was such a relief. Everyone wears a mask (surgical or N95 or both), and I noticed HEPA filters throughout the office. In addition, the office is completely digital (no paper!) and very modern. Overall, I have had a very positive new patient visit and am looking forward to my next cleaning. Highly recommend!

I was in severe pain and called every dentist in a 20 mile radius. Dr Lees office said come in now! (Only dentist willing to see me) In less than 5 minutes, he finished the job, stitched the hole and mentioned how could not believe that office let me keave like that. I refered every family memeber to him and all love him. He has done an amazing job for all of us. I had had the bond replaced a…read morecouple times and it was always too big for my mouth, so my husband and I decided it was time to get it fitted correctly and crowned. I made my first appointment. A few days before the appointment, it was canceled. I called back to reschedule and met Dr. Stoddart. I was EXTREMELY pleased with her at first. I swore I would never see another dentist again. After the appointment, they wanted me to drive to the lab in Branford to make sure the crown would fit (or that's what they told me). I show up in Branford and they were like "uhh we only match the color?" I was in the chair for less than 60 seconds before they told me I was done and the color would be fine. Okay? Meanwhile Dr. Stoddart had cut my mouth a few times shaping my tooth for a permanent crown and she absolutely tore up my gum. I couldn't eat anything but soft food for 3 weeks after and I had nerve pain going from my tooth to halfway up my nose. My gum was black and blue and bleeding for literally a few weeks. Yesterday was my appointment for my new crown. I showed up early and it was super busy. I sat down in the chair and Dr. Stoddart told me she didn't like how the lab shaped the back of the new tooth. There was a little piece on the back that stuck out. She told me she didn't have time to fix it or she would get behind on my patients. I've never had a doctor say that to me before, so I just looked at her and said okay, I'll come back this week. She took the temporary crown that she had just taken off and reattached it. Unbeknownst to me, it has a huge break in the back of it where it met my gum. It was literally a hole in the back of the tooth. She reattached it, and as I was checking out I realized the hole. I freaked out a little, especially when they told me I couldn't come back until December 22. The past 24 hours has been lots of fun, where every drink I take a sip of, I can feel the liquid floating in the back of the temporary. The office called later that day to fit me in for today (the following day). I showed up 15 minutes early and expected my permanent crown. When I sat down in the chair, she said I couldn't use that one, it had the piece sticking out still. I was surprised and asked if she could just drill it off and she said no, she needed to get another tooth made from the lab. At this point I'm really upset. Then she numbs me up and starts shaping my tooth more. To say I'm in pain is an understatement. I was writhing on the chair with tears pouring down my cheeks in serious pain. The back of my tooth felt like there was a massive hole leading into my palette. I didn't even cry in the childbirth of my two children but this was intolerable. After her THREE impressions were done and my mouth was literally burning, she made a new temporary crown for me. I made the follow-up appointment for December 22. I walked to my car, got in and looked in the mirror. You can literally see the remnants of my real tooth under the temporary. There are spots on the temporary. It doesn't line up. It's adhered to the tooth to the right of it. It is an absolute joke and to make it all the better, I'm seeing my family for Thanksgiving in 2 days. I wish I could give less than 1 star for this. Let's not forget the fact that I paid $500 so far. Three appointments, one lab trip to Branford and a mouth full of pain. That's what $500 has bought me.

Who would know better than another professional, I thought, so I gave them a try. Everything about Dr. Erickson's practice exudes professionalism and patient-centered care. The words which best describe my experiences with them are friendly, efficient, and compassionate. The office is bright and welcoming, the office staff courteous and pleasant, and the equipment state-of-the-art. It had been a few years since my last cleaning, so I required two visits to get all the tough stuff off my teeth. Nobody was condescending or judgemental that I had avoided the dentist for so long. Both hygienists who performed the scaling and debridement were as gentle and quick as the procedures would allow, and my routine follow-up care was even easier. I also needed a large filling in a cracked rear tooth repaired. Rather than putting a full crown over the tooth, Dr. Erickson installed a four-cusp onlay, a conservative approach which maintains as much of the healthy native tooth structure as possible while strengthening the repair. I explained my general apprehension towards dental work, and Dr. Erickson and his staff took the time to explain and discuss the procedure, options, and how discomfort could be reduced. When I experienced some breakthrough pain during the tooth preparation, Dr. Erickson promptly stopped the procedure to administer more anesthetic directly below the tooth. He was meticulous in both the preparation and fitting of the final restoration. The final result is a tooth that works and feels better than it has in a decade. I would highly recommend Dr. Erickson's dental practice for their expertise, dedication, thoroughness, and compassion.

First, let's just say this office puts you at ease, and Dr. Erickson does not tolerate the idea of causing pain. The receptionists are rude and NO MATTER how far out you ask for an appointment, they act like you've asked the impossible and that looking into the computer for some available times would be fruitless. They text you for a "reminder" of your appointment, to which I've responded. Then they email you and tell you you didn't reply and this is followed up with a RUDE conversation with one of the receptionists. All of the dental professionals are kind and talented, making it the best possible experience. This change to a more corporate office may have improved Dr. K's business model but I know of other long timers who have left or are planning to do so just because the "gate keepers" make it so bad.
