I'm not sure why I pay a $75 copay so my physical therapist can be busy with two other patients. If I spend two visits worth of copay I can buy the same equipment at home and do the exercises by myself. It used to be okay, but now each PT is servicing two to three people at once and they just tell you to do the different exercises. I need one on one care and I need actual work on my body. Why am I paying to sit around waiting on my PT to go work on others? I could do it at home for free. read more

This has to be thee absolute worst experience thus far at a medical facility. Being a provider myself, the lack of compassion for patients and poor follow-up of continuation of care is disturbing. Additionally, though determined that my medical procedure was "medically necessary, due to other treatments not being successful, the billing department would not bill the insurance." The auto injury department refused to bill, indicating that PRP injections were not covered in other cases; so billing for mine would be no exception. X-rays for my shoulder were requested by a shoulder specialist at the same facility, after mri's were completed, which is far more advanced and informative. The experience was completely disheartening, especially while having to endure on-going pain. read more

While the surgeon seemed to be very good at what he did and was very compassionate, and the one PA we interacted with was good, the office staff seems to run the place. Communication with the team was poor and why should a cold coordinator, deliver news that should come directly from the physician, and she hides behind computer monitors when interacting with patients. After a traumatic fall and multiple injuries, I chose to come here for the follow up care. My first experience was with a young blonde NP who said that I was not healing and to come back in 1 week for another Xray. My husband's response "Do you really think that a fracture will be healing in a week ?", to which she responded "Oh yes! ". Next visit with Dr Murphy " The bone is not healing so we can just replace the shoulder joint with surgery "!!! Knowing that I have Lupus and RA, I am a'slow healer'. I am very disappointed in my care/ lack of it here! The only saving grace is Paul, the PA. (&Dr. D) Who took 2 minutes to actually listen to me and get a second opinion from Dr Deskmuth. (Who both should start their own clinic ). Also, if you have multiple injuries, here you have to see the shoulder doctor, elbow doctor, wrist doctor , hand doctor and back doctor for all those Xrays and that's just healthcare at it's worst! read more

In November of 2025 I saw Dr Duffy, who came highly recommended and who is an excellent surgeon. He determined that I needed a hip replacement, but at the time he was booked out until mid February. I was going on a ski trip myself, for most of March, so they scheduled me for an April 7th 2026 surgery. I changed my insurance plan to a new company on January 1st, but I had checked before I changed, to be certain that Dr Duffy was still on my new plan as an "in network"doctor. It was confirmed by SEO and my health insurance company, that he was. I found that trying to communicate with the " Duffy Team" was a problem and challenge right from the start. They never answer their phones, or return calls for days. Emails go unanswered for many days as well. I did all of the pre surgical testing in January and February, as I was going to be out of town for most of March. I even went to 4 PT sessions at their Ponte Vedre office, to prepare for the surgery, ...as ordered by Dr Duffy. I was physically and mentally READY. On March 8th, while I was out west , I received a call from a member of the Duffy Team, telling me that the surgery that had been scheduled for 3 plus months, could not be performed, as although Dr Duffy was in Network for my insurance plan, the FACILITY where he performs his surgeries was not. This was discovered by the " Duffy Team", 3.5 weeks before my surgery and after having an EKG, chest cray, blood work and 4 PT sessions at THEIR office, in Preparation for my surgery. I was astounded and obviously very upset. The team member who called me while I was out west, offered no condolences or suggestions about how to work this out... so I immediately called my insurance company and spoke with a supervisor. She attempted many times to call the Southeast Orthopedic office in Ponte Vedre, but as always... no one answers the phone or calls back when you leave a message. The insurance agent could not believe it! She told me to email the "Duffy team" and see if We could find out the address and name of the facility where Dr Duffy performs his procedures, and possibly get an override or work something out. I did email the team, from Montana) but got no response ( as usual). I waited 3 days and sent a second email that was not as nice. I did get an email back from " the team" apologizing for not " seeing" my first email. That did it for me. I stopped trying to work it out with SEO and when I returned from my vacation, I found a new orthopedic. It was obviously not the fault of Dr Duffy, but it makes me wonder if he realizes how inept and very BAD, his team is! Unbelievable! I could never recommend this practice, as I feel that although they have some great doctors, it is not a well run and organized office. Truly bordering on negligence. I wonder how many others have been on a surgery schedule for over 3 months, done all of the pre surgery testing and prep... and are told 3.5 weeks before the date, that the facility that the Dr uses, is not in Network. While Dr. Pavel is the best pain management Dr and did a great job alleviating pain from my cervical (neck) area, I think Southeast has unethical business practices. The billing department will hoard any positive balance (credit) you have without you even knowing that you have a credit. Mine was over $100 which they had kept for 6 months without me knowing it even existed. I still wouldn't know about if I hadn't scheduled a new appointment and asked why they only charged me $20 for the appt. (They shouldn't have charged me anything as I had a hefty credit. Anyway the receptionist stated that I had a credit of over $100 for 6 months. She said I had to ask for any refund. So if you are a patient there, you must have ESP to figure out if you have a credit so you can ask for a refund. read more

They doctors could care less. Like most orthopedic surgeons they believe they're better and above the average patient. Therefore most of them talk down to patients like they're idiotic. This location is cold, depressing. The lobby feels like a soul sucking DMV lobby! There is no decor- one color paint throughout the office, the chairs in the lobby are laid out in rows that are perpendicular to the front desk- but there is no style. The lobby was also filled with other patients who all struggled to walk in, like me, but most were worse. The pain was in the air. I waited almost an hour to be taken back and it turns out after my MRI- the office scheduled me with the ordering physician instead of the spine doctor that I was being referred to all within the same practice. The irony that my appointment was cancelled and then rebooked and all with the wrong doctor which I didn't know yet as I waited well past my appointment time. Once back, the nurse told me that I wasn't supposed to see the PA again, but that she would go over my MRI results. I paid a $90 copay to see the wrong doctor and be read my mri result. 5 minutes. And ended up seeing the correct doctor 3 days later and paid another $90 copay. You see- my pain is so severe, my brain is overloaded- seriously, brain fog because of how much pain I am in. Between the nurse and the PA I cried in the bland, no decor, patient room. I felt so stupid because I didn't even retain any names of who I was seeing in the first place. I decided in that moment that I had to really pay better attention- and it turned out I would need that mindset upon exiting! Yup, back out in the front, soul sucking lobby- I was being scheduled, again. Except I said Dr Gall and wouldn't you know it- there are two Dr Galls! So the young man was struggling to schedule me and waited for his female coworker to finish with her patient and asked her for help. After a few moments, she asked me which hand? What? Hand- I'm trying to see a spine doctor!!! Ohhhh, there's two doctor Gall's. Seriously- how is that not the first question? Or- better yet, doesn't it specify in my chart? Scheduled for the Ponte Vedra location and I received a text cancelling that appointment 4 hours later, after the office closed. Yup- not my favorite office. I will say the PA and nurse were very nice- but someone could have told me when I checked in that I booked with the wrong person- you know, before I paid. Before I sat there an hour. I have been dealing with ahurt shoulder from falling over 6 weeks. Went to see pain dr. He didn't do anything but push pain pills. Seen Dr. RYAN SUTTON. Direct eye contact. Caring, professional, staff were efficient as well and courteous. Just got injection in shoulder. When I tell you he was so amazing. I was able to lift my arm. I love this practice. Do NOT go HERE!!! I'm a senior living with rheumatoid arthritis on a fixed income. I paid upfront for a knee replacement scheduled with Dr. Lincoln at the start of summer. One day before surgery, it was canceled due to a "family emergency." No one followed up. Weeks later, we were told Dr. Lincoln was unavailable for certification testing, then found out he was leaving the practice altogether. During this time, I was instructed to stop my RA meds, which caused severe swelling, disfigurement, and pain. A new doctor was assigned, but that appointment was also canceled due to office errors. Six weeks later, I was finally seen only to be told I didn't need surgery after all and needed more tests. The physical, emotional, and financial toll this has taken is devastating. And now? Southeast Orthopedic practice refuses to refund the $800 I paid for a surgery that never happened claiming they're waiting on insurance to process a completely separate visit. This is unacceptable and negligent care for any patient, especially an elderly woman in pain. I've chosen to seek care elsewhere and am demanding my refund so I can finally move forward. read more

This place was very busy when I was there but they were efficiently getting people in and out of there. The waiting area is kinda small and some spouses ended up either standing against a wall or sitting on their partner's knee scooters. The X-Ray tech was fast. She was very polite and didn't try to pull or push me into position in front of the machine. Paul Hofrichter ARNP was great and gave me some hope for my pain. I didn't feel rushed and he thoroughly went over the XRay with me explaining what he can and can't see. We started a treatment plan and he assured me that their would be no injections, which is great. I was their a little over an hour for my first visit so that wasn't bad. PATIENT BEWARE - SUPRISE BILLING!! This place will squeeze you for every dollar they can get. Make sure you get a firm price quote for any devices they try selling you. I saw Dr. Brown at the Mandarin location for a wrist injury. He recommended I get a wrist brace and his office gave me one on the day of service. When I asked how much the wrist brace would be, his staff could not/would not tell me an actual amount but said they "think its around $30 or $40." I was shocked to see they had billed my insurance provider $654! When I called the office to dispute the price, they said they are sorry but the person that helped me that day wasn't trained or qualified to provide the price, and I already accepted the brace so they can't do anything about it. She openly admitted that they have untrained/unqualified staff helping me that day... How is this legal?! Additionally, she said they have a "cash price" of $18 but, again, they already billed my insurance so she "can't" do anything about it. This place will take advantage of you, so be sure you know what you're getting into if you absolutely have to go here. Update 7/11/25: I've spoken with my insurance company who has authorized the clinic to reverse the claim and allow me to do self pay. Even after a phone call between myself, clinic and insurance, the clinic said they won't do it and is holding firm on their $654 claim. Not only are the Physicians at SE Orthopedics rude and unconcerned about patient care but the office staff is even worse! They do not listen. They over book appointments. I scheduled 4 appointments with them and every time the time was changed day of by text and 2 of them the location was also moved last minute without my knowledge. I left the practice with no help but found a wonderful Dr at JOI who listened on the first visit and I am scheduled for the surgery I needed for the 6 months SE Ortho drug me thru therapy and needless appointments with PA's and second opinions! read more

Endless questionnaires. I made my first appointment months ago, which was cancelled 1 business day before my appointment (the Dr I was to see left the practice). Appointment was rescheduled and had the initial appointment, x-ray was done, MRI was ordered and f/u appointment made. Last week was sent another questionnaire about how I was functioning with my injury. That was fine. A few days later, I received a text to confirm my appointment, but before it could be confirmed, there was a questionnaire which seemed a lot like my medical history. I completed my medical history before my first appointment. Why is it necessary to complete another questionnaire just to confirm an appointment? I gave up because I didn't feel like completing a redundent questionnaire. What's the problem with yes or a 1 to confirm, or no or 2 to cancel? I cancelled the appointment. read more

I am 62 years old, disabled and just escaped from a long term abuse situation in February 2024. I had been scheduled for surgery on my left foot on March 27, 2024. The surgery had been scheduled since March 5, 2024. I was REFUSED surgery by Stephen Arndt, M.D. from Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in Jacksonville, Florida SOLELY BECAUSE I am a homeless abuse victim. I was told this point blank, to my face, by the surgery center administrator, Beverly Teague, who escorted me from the Center like she was throwing out the trash. LITERALLY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE CARE FOR ME BECAUSE I WAS A HOMELESS ABUSE VICTIM!!!!!!!!! My abuser will be cutting off my health insurance the end of March 2024. This was my last chance to get this horribly painful condition fixed. Now I am forced to live with pain so severe that I can barely walk. One of my best friends of 26 years, who is permitting me to stay with her indefinitely, AND who has been a registered nurse since 1976 is helping with my care and was present with me on the day of the surgery. I TOLD THEM ALL OF THIS. Ms. Teague said "well we may need to bring her back," but they NEVER DID. My friend's cell phone number was written on the wristband that they had attached to my arm. I believe they failed to call her because they did not want another witness to what they were doing. A nurse was also involved. I believe her first name might have been Liz. Now I am trapped in hell with this pain permanently?! I paid their initial $974 fee directly from my bank account when I walked in the door, so money WAS NOT a concern. I have Social Security and had saved this money to flee from my abuser. I have NEVER been made to feel so hopeless, helpless and humiliated IN MY LIFE!!! The intervention of my pastor, Jeremy Henderson, was the ONLY thing that averted me from eating my glock. The abuse just NEVER ends! read more

Always had a great experience. Dr. Collier and Dr. Van Rensburg are a pleasure to work with and have helped me combat the pain to my lower back and neck. I previously went to this facility for my auto accident in 10/2018 but since have been involved in a 2nd auto accident in 01/2020. They schedule my appointment verte quickly and got me in through their doors in less than 48 hours. They are professional and efficient which is what I love because I have to be seen at their facility during my lunch hour, which is only an hour. They are awful to deal with. I was under their care with a work injury which is why I was seeking treatment with them. After the MRI on my hip they said they couldn't see anything related to why I was having hip pain but offered creams and injections. I was in physical therapy and had a follow up appt with SE Ortho. Anyhow, I took the injection and cream hoping it would somehow fix my problem. I provided paperwork for them to complete for my injury and had to have it back on xxxxx date. They had a month to complete the paperwork. I called weekly to inquire about it and got no feedback until three days before the paperwork was due. I called and was told it was completed but someone would call me back to confirm. When the PA called back two days later, which in now has to turn the paperwork in the next day, he said they couldn't compete the paperwork as nothing was wrong with me. Then why was I under your care with a follow up appt of nothing is wrong with me! But what really upset me was they had the paperwork for weeks, plenty of time to complete it and waited until 14 hours before I had to turn it in to tell me! I told the PA they had put me in a real bind at work as I was now required to do anything they required and I clearly still had hip pain which they had done nothing to help me with or guide me in another direction to find a solution for the pain. Now nine months later I still am trying to figure out what is wrong with my hip and when I called SE Ortho three times in seven days to get a copy of my MRI to take to my new ortho. I finally called the main line to make an appt to see how I could get my med records and MRI and finally done success. Drove up to their office to get a copy and now thankfully I never have ti have anything to do with this practice again. read more

Had some arthroscopy surgery on right knee. Fully torn meniscus. Dr. Deshmukh did the procedure. In and our in 45 minutes. P.T. for 5 sessions. Knee is great. Great organization and great doctors. P.S. Dr. Deshmukh even called me personally the night before to make sure that I did not have any questions. Pretty great. Most Doctors don't do that. read more

I must say that I have had nothing but the best experience since coming to Southeast Orthopedics. My previous orthopedic doctor at JOI wasn't much help with even trying to help get my knee to a somewhat healthy point prior to getting knee replacement. Southeast recommended therapy and other treatments to help me until the day of replacement came. Dr Rahul Deshmukh MD and his team took EXCELLENT care of my knee replacement. I feel GREAT ! I'm very pleased with it. His office team help me file all the necessary paperwork in a timely manner for me and my employer. Everything was completed in a timely manner. Thanks Delaine ! the physical therapy department was very professional and attentive to getting me back to good health. Thanks David and Mikhail ! My follow ups with his PA Brian were great with concern on my progress. Southeast Ortho is the only place for me. This is my 2nd experience with them as I had rotor cuff surgery January 2020. I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Acevedo for Fri. 07-31-2020 in the morning. When I did my online registration, I truthfully stated I had taken a COVID test and that had not received my results. Per instructions, I called them Tuesday and told them I had taken the test voluntarily and that I never had any symptoms whatsoever. They said someone will call me. No one called until Friday morning. Then they said since I had taken the test, they wouldn't see me until the test results were received. That makes zero sense. 1) If I had not been truthful about taking the test, they wouldn't have even known. 2) Calling me last minute to cancel the appointment is completely unprofessional. I am a busy professional and had carved time out of a busy schedule for this appointment. Obviously, these people have zero respect for other people's time and schedule. I had to call on behalf of my company CEO to schedule some time with Dr. Gall due to broken bone emergency. On my first call, I chose option 0 to reach the Operator and the line was answered but no welcome greeting was given, and was then disconnected. I redialed and the line was answered by a lady clearly already in a bad mood with a gruff, abrasive telephone manner. Despite calling to schedule an emergency appointment for an existing patient who I was able to provide details for to verify, and in no way trying to obtain personal details, I was given a lot of huffing and puffing and a very belligerent manner, before being told by the grumpy Operator that, "I do not like your attitude," and being placed on hold for an overly extended period of time, which I patiently endured. Ultimately, I was able to book the appointment for my CEO, indicating that her bluster and resistance was all for nothing. Conversely, my CEO has nothing but praise to give to Dr. Goll and team and the overall service received. read more

My first visit with Dr. Hurford was great! extremely knowledgeable and helpful. His bedside manner was perfect. highly recommend seeing him for any surgery consultations. Second visit was with Paul Steinke PAC. He was also very knowledgeable and understanding of my medical situation. Everything was fine and dandy until I decided to call the office to ask some questions. I called the office and spoke to someone named Sasha was a very rude. I asked why did they need to ask my insurance company for approval when come to find out that the insurance that I have specifically allowed me to get this medical procedure done without insurance approval. He answered with a vague "We have a process sir." I asked him to explain the process further and he repeated himself again saying that he "didn't have time to repeat himself." I asked if I could speak to someone else and he told me that someone would call me back. We all know that just simply isn't true. For a pain management office, you would think that he would have empathy for patients situations. I hope the person who reads this gets Sasha more training. In any professional situation the way I was treated was not up to standard. It is hard to fully explain what happened in a simple paragraph but please understand that these last 4 months of pain numbness in my right arm and neck have been extremely debilitating on me both physically and mentally. Hi I was a patient here when I broke my tibia and fibula. A lot of people recommend this place to me and my dad so we decided to go here. I had dr arndt he had recommended rod surgery to me and my dad,he said we could let it heal on it's own or proceed with rod surgery which he highly recommended. Of course we are going to go with what the doctor says. I got the rod surgery I was fine for about four months and then I had really bad pain causing me to go back. I went back and it took about two visits for them to tell me I have a stress fracture... to add on the first visit I heard them in the room saying "she has a stress fracture", at the time I didn't think anything of it because it could have been someone else, now I know. After multiple visit they then told me the rod was causing a stress fracture, so they needed to remove it. At this point I could see the screw and even the rod. I wasn't comfortable going back to a doctors office that lied to me and see me as just another dollar sign and not a patient. I transferred over to JE door and ankle my doctor was Dr Ernest highly recommend. Southeast took about almost a year to get everything transferred to JE,they are horrible to get information from as well. It took about 2 years of pain for me to finally get it removed. If you want a place that cares about your well-being go to JE foot an ankle. I thought this was important to share because this affected my life in many ways and I Don't want anyone else to go through this, it was wrong. read more
