If I could leave zero stars, I would…read more During my appointment, the doctor examined my nail and clearly diagnosed my condition. After that, she clipped part of the nail and said very vaguely that it was something she "might need in case there were issues with insurance approvals." At no point did she explain that 1.) this was a prerequisite for oral medication prescription, 2.) that the biopsy would result in additional charges, or 3.) that the sample would be sent to an outside lab for pathology testing. In fact, the way it was presented to me made it seem like I did not have a choice. Fast forward to today when I received nearly $400 in additional bills due to the nail biopsy and pathology lab testing. Mind you, Dr. Iwu had already determined my condition, so the biopsy and lab testing were not medically necessary. When I spoke with her after receiving the bill, she insisted she had explained the reason behind the biopsy (NOT TRUE) and how dare I question her. She also told me I "should have known" the sample would be sent to a lab. I am sorry, but last time I checked, I am not a medical professional, so why would or should I know this? Clear communication and asking for informed consent are the doctor's responsibility - not the patients. What's most disappointing is that despite acknowledging the situation as confusing, Dr. Iwu refused to work with me in any way on the bill. TRUST ME -- AVOID HER OFFICE AT ALL COSTS!! Dr. Iwu does not operate in good faith and only wants your money. She does not care about your health. Better alternatives: Marietta Podiatry Group Gauld Foot and Ankle Village Podiatry Kennestone

Honestly this so much better than I anticipated. Highly recommend Michelle & Dr. Goldine…read more I had been putting off getting an ingrown removed for months and it got to a point where it was keeping me awake at night. Plus I had my postponed honeymoon coming up (Paris in fall so a lot of walking and definitely could not get away with open toed shoes like I could have when I was supposed to be going to Italy in summer) I was able to get a next day appointment and they were able to take care of it same day. Which was unexpected. But the biggest positive, was the bedside manner. So full disclosure I am that person who does not handle pain well (anymore). Going to the pediatrist is similar to going to the dentist for me. I HATE it. I absolutely will avoid it until I am in so much pain I can't really ignore it anymore. Which is exactly what I did here. I had been treating and dealing with this ingrown on my own (which I'm used to doing and have done many times successfully over the years) for 5 months. But there was an infection and again, a very big European honeymoon coming up. With lots of walking. So it really had to go. Another full disclosure, I'm also not someone who's not so great in terms of self control where where pain and anxiety are mixed. I definitely warned them and apologized in advance (and probably a few times during and after) for any and all of the UNHINGED AF things that came out of my mouth while this was going on. Both Michelle (the PA who did my initial consult and felt with the truly crappy aspect of numbing me Pre-procedure...did I mention I'm a complete child where needles are concerned?) AND th Doctor both could not have been nicer or more humane about it. There's a difference between dry professionalism, and being a person, and they were both so great and understanding and full of good humor. I had to ask them to take many breaks, reposition the seat, let me have a bit of a cry and I almost threw up at one point. It took way longer than it could have (totally my fault) They again listened to me say the most unhinged crap with such a good attitude, and got it done. I also want to say my old doctor, who has retired, had a pretty prestigious career. He was the ballet's pediatrist when I was dancing there (which is how I found him) and was also the pediatrist for many other prestigious sports teams such as the Falcons at the same time. He removed 2 ingrowns on me 12 years ago (as well as other procedures in vet the years) when I was still dancing, and did so with more needles per foot (6 in each foot-12 total, versus the 3 I had this time around) and the numbing lasted much much longer. I am writing this 6 hours after and it is just starting to wear off. It also seemed stronger as the first time I did this, it was a similar experience to having a procedure at the dentist. You are numbed, but can still feel someone rooting around in there. It was the same. This time, I was really truly far less physically aware that anyone was doing anything. It was so much better. The doctor worked quickly, once I sucked it up, he was done in maybe 5 min. It was an altogether better experience. I'm not sure if it was because in 12 years things have improved, or it's new techniques, or he's just a better doctor...but this was a far better experience. I am so grateful this is over and how quickly they took care of it. Also for how nice everyone was. Highly recommend!

I've been going to Dr John for over 25 years and in all of those years he has never been anything…read morebut the very best listener and most caring doctor. He definitely has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've ever been to ,He never ceases to amaze me at how intelligent he is and how he always goes about doing things without surgery first, I love that about him. He is not one of those who loves to cut for no reason ,(like so many do )his prices are very reasonable and never have. I felt like he was just trying to make money off of me as I have felt before with other doctors. I have sent him many friends of mine that have been very pleased With his work and his bedside manner . I've been to several surgeons that have told me there's nothing they could do and the first thing he told me was we've got to get you out of pain and that's just the most recent incident and there's nothing he could've said that would've made me happier than that. About 15 years ago, I broke my ankle in three places and for some reason after I left the ER, they referred me to a orthopedic Doctor (Whom I would prefer not to mention their name because it was such a horrible experience. )He wanted to do surgery on me the very next day when I had so much swelling, there was no way it could've been done without problems . Dr John informed me and talked with me and explained everything that was necessary in order for me to have my surgery we waited a week. He did the surgery and I've had no problems with it since. I had a very good friend whom went to an orthopedic and she walks like a pirate unfortunately. Thank God, I left that orthopedic office in so much pain and went to Dr John and did such an amazing job that I barely had any swelling. it healed very quickly and he did it with one surgery. He always tries many other ways to deal with your foot issues other than trying to rush you into surgery like so many doctors do. I would never go to another podiatrist and I'm so grateful for him every day . He has always made me feel like I was his special patient.. I trust him completely and you would too. If you had experienced the things that I've been through . I can't say enough positive things about him. He is an amazing doctor and worth every minute of waiting, that is if you have to wait. i've never had to wait for very long and like I said if I did, it was worth every minute I highly recommend Dr John. ,He is so kind but mainly so intelligent and probably the best foot doctor you could possibly get. The office is run by the best customer service you can imagine they always get back to you and always seem to work you in even when I can't imagine how he would ever have enough time. He stays very busy because he's so good I am shocked every time that I go to his office, at the fact that he still has people working for him that have been there for at least 20 to 30 years . Their loyalty to to him to work there that long truly proves a lot about his amazing character It's very nice going in and seeing the people that I've known for so many years that I've been there. I can't say enough about Dr John. He's the best medical person and the most caring doctor I've ever had.
