Actually Calhoun Ga Office. Northwest Ga. Would not recommend! Severe water leak caused extensive damage to lower floor of house. Some things went okay, but others not so much. Kitchen cabinet replacement not what we asked for. Currently fading or stain, worn and flaking . No soft close. Glass top range scratched badly. Was told that cedar that was in our den wasn't available. Found out later that Home Depot where some of the materials to repair our house were purchased had an ample supply of the wood we wanted. Currently have cracks in sheet rock that was replaced on all interior walls. Interior door frames mounted an inch and a half or more above the floor. Ceiling paint in primary bath doesn't match. And hardwood floors uneven. This work was done several years ago, but felt compelled to do this review now because we continue to have problems. read more

My name is Dr Ernie McCullough and I live in Forsyth County, GA. I will address my review of the project on my home immediately; it was and is above my expectations. My kitchen suffered a long duration water leak causing the infiltration of black mold in the cabinet sub floor and several feet into the manufactured flooring of the kitchen, and subsequently into the ceiling of the basement. Major project ensued. Cabinets removed, plumbing removed ,flooring in all of kitchen removed, portions of sub flooring removed. Once the deconstruction was completed , the new section of sub flooring was installed, the new fabricated cabinets were installed, plumbing reconnected, new manufactured flooring was installed, painters were brought in to repaint a few spots, a cleaning professional was brought in to deep clean areas adjacent to work area. The project was completed to my satisfaction. The project began in late October and was completed in early December. There were a plethora of tradesmen involved and all were professional, courteous, observant of my home environment, arrived on time as agreed upon, and well supervised by the Project Managers. I was kept informed by the Project Managers of every next step and the expected duration of that phase of the project , as well as any expected deviations from the time line. From day one I had a reasonably expectation of the project completion. I was not disappointed. Supper workers, workmanship and results. I will not hesitate to recommend Southeast Restoration to anyone needing their type of services, and will highly recommend them to my insurance carrier for recommendations to their other clients. IN 2018 had storm damage. SE Restoration did a great job repairing that. SO when a tornado came through neighborhood, a tree came down doing a nasty bit of damage. Called after the storm and they came out after I had the tree removed. Tight efficient team. Communication was outstanding. HIGHLY recommend Mathew and his team. Fast, efficient, compassionate. I completely stand by my previous review. The work is STILL not completed and I have a personal friend doing the missed grout and other things left undone. My schedule was completely open and I left the door unlocked several times but the 'trade partners' either did not show up or were late. I only work two days per week so the availability was definitely not a problem. One day I came home to find a five year old kid running around inside my house! This is not acceptable. The ONLY 'trade partner' who could speak English was the one who was rude and disrespectful (and his English was questionable). The others knew NO ENGLISH whatsoever and were often left alone in the home without the English-speaking day worker. Southeast is now trying to add on more charges 'after the fact'. This has apparently happened to others - please read the reviews. Anyone who wishes to contact me for more detail on this horrible experience, please feel free to do so. This company did a wonderful job on the emergency services the night of the storm which is why I gave them 1 star at all. The work that was preformed to restore our home was long and wrong. We fired them less then halfway through the completion of job. The lead on our job was rude and an idiot. He measured walls and windows incorrectly. Always said that things were coming but then would double check with me on the measurements which Leeds me to believe that things were never actually ordered. They were totally over priced! If I am paying caviar prices I don't want a cheeseburger. That's what I got! If you need to do heavy repairs on your home after a natural disaster shop it out. Flooding took place in Atlanta last night and this company is taking full advantage of the situation and trying to charge the community $500 BEFORE EVER COMING OUT to look at the damage. SRG does not honor their workmanship of the folks that they outsource to. They do not "restore lives" as their advertising states. They added many more thousands of dollars to the original estimate then hired subpar contractors to do work. Paint splattered over our items in the garage, damage on a fridge and did not honor the agreed damage price to fix the dented doors, paint marks on a new ceiling light in a room they were fixing, did not fix sheetrock in the room with damage (see photos) and wood floors that are not holding up. SRG does not respond timely to calls and text, back when the damage occurred and now. Our wood floors did not hold up and began having issues soon after they were completed after our water damage. When the complaint was sent to SRG, we attempted to reach our project manager for 8 months. He apparently left the company and we have never had any other contacts given to us to reach. We did not know he had left, his cell continued to work and this is were we left messages and text. SRG will hire their own inspectors to "review the workmanship". Very biased. SRG has great come backs and puts the blame on the customer when there are work complaints. Read other reviews. Buyer beware. They will say they work hard to resolve complaints. First you need to be able to reach them and then have patience to wait and wait and call them to remind them you are waiting for a response. They work hard to remove the blame from themselves. Below are just three of 100's of pictures of what has happened to our floors in less than a year. They blamed me using water to wash floors - DEBUNKED. They blamed humidity in my house - debunked as the reading reached by both our inspector and theirs is within the guidelines. They blamed by dog. They blamed wear and tear. I am pretty sure wood floors should hold up especially since they did not redo our wood stairs and those 20 year old stairs are just fine. The third picture is the darkening of our floors in the room where the water damage occurred. The other pictures are selective in the home. Not only does SRG have our insurance money in their bank, we have to pay to have our floors fixed, thousands of dollars. So disappointing. Would never recommend this company. After our house was damaged by a falling tree, they replaced our roof (among other things), but failed to properly flash a skylight. I didn't know this until much later when it started leaking. When I tried to get them to fix it, they claimed the skylight "wasn't their problem", even though they replaced everything else on the roof. Now I'm getting the skylight replaced and find out that they did something else wrong with the shingles and now I have to get the roof replaced again!! DO NOT HIRE THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!! They accepted our job (restoration from a water leak the damaged kitchen floor, and the basement) and said they would start the beginning of July. We called and texted the estimator to get a status update and got no response. We finally contacted the office today, July 20. Honestly, I was shocked to see some of the negative reviews here for Southeast Restoration. Our experience with them has been nothing short of perfect. We had a washer, wash our home and not our clothes. Water went EVERYWHERE. They were there to meet me at my house when I got there, and they got everything dried out in a 2-3 day timeline. Their representatives are professional and easy to deal with, and as a company they are excellent with their communication. I am an ambassador for life! The estimator came out very timely and went over the process with us. They were very busy so our job did not start till two weeks later. The project manager came out and went over the job with the workers. Everyone was attentive to our questions and concerns. The job was finished in a week and the project manager came out, went over all the items we felt were not complete and insured us everything would be completed to our satisfaction. Southeast saved our house from potential further damage. Our washing machine somehow flooded our ENTIRE house and they were there the second we got there to meet them. They were able to pull out most of the water within 20 minutes and minimized the effect the water could've had on our walls. They were up front, honest, and efficient. Like others, I'm a little baffled by the bad reviews and even a little annoyed. For whatever bad luck reasons, we've had several unfortunate events over the past few years that have required the services of a restoration company. So this review is actually based on a COMPARISON with a few other companies that will remain nameless. It's not just some pat on the back for a bunch of guys who did excellent work. First of all, there is nothing "convenient" about using ANY restoration company. Typically, you're using them for some catastrophic reason. There's going to be glitches. There's going to be hold-ups. There's going to be materials, supplies, and items that need to be ordered and purchased. Don't be shocked if some of them are custom items that take longer. There is always 'some' waiting involved. I don't care which Restoration company you use. Nobody is ever 'delighted' with this aspect. Most companies will work with your insurance carrier, some won't. Some, like Southeastern are better and more adept at it than others. They have a lot of credibility with my insurance carrier. It's up to YOU to bird-dog your coverage with your insurer. Not the restoration company. They (Southeastern) will help you to the point where you will likely need to do very little, and believe me, you are a lot better off with their help than without it. The quality of the workmanship and the professionalism is excellent. The sense of urgency they have about getting your house back in shape, is as close to your own sense of urgency as you are going to get. The speed with which things get done, and the timetable for repairs and restoration is very quick, but will always depend on the type of services and repairs that you need. Southeastern has vast resources and contacts to get things done quickly. I NEVER had to call Southeastern to find out the status of repairs, or ask how long I needed to wait, or stay on them about the next step in the restoration, or about some no-show contractor, or incomplete work. THEY ALWAYS CALLED ME. Communication was always smooth and unbroken. The final result is going to be better than what you had before your event or catastrophe. That's as good as it gets, people. Our project manager was Tripp Lange. He kept things moving. The crews and tradesmen were all experienced and competent, many of them at master level. I hope I never have to use another restoration company. I hope that going forward, I can shop around, take my time with repairs and improvements, dither around on my own timetable, and even do some of the work myself. But if I EVER have to use another restoration company (and again, I've had to use several) It will be THIS company. Southeastern Restoration. Dealing with this company is like trying to row the Titanic! We used Southeast for water extraction last month and sang their praises .The crew that serviced us was super. We did not have to interact with the office until that portion was over with. At the time for "rebuild" their estimator Chad was assigned to us and it was downhill from there. We have wasted two weeks (which seemed like forever) while living in horrible surroundings. The day I spoke to him on the phone at the office and called him back 10 minutes later and was told he was in south Georgia and most likely didn't answer his phone because he had bad service . I told the secretary that when I spoke to him 10 minutes prior his number showed up as the same office she was in. I knew we had yet another problem. Poor communication, questionable estimates to insurance and the list goes on. Greg in the office is no better . Don't waste your time, money and emotions with this company at a time when you need to channel your energy in a positive direction. Had to place a rating since it did not let me give it zero, but Yelp did allow for zero ratings, it would have been ZERO. After the torrential rains we had over Christmas, this company was referred to us by a friend of the family. We had them come out to do an emergency "repair" on 12/30/2015, at which time they stated that the temporary "repair" should prevent any further leaking. Today 1/15/2016, the same leak started up, so I called them back spoke to "John". John, explained that if they found that the damage was different from the first repair they'd have to charge a new fee, however if this new issue was related to previous workmanship related the fix would be Free. I am resonable and accepted the terms. ****At this point, I would like to point out that between 12/30 and 1/15 there had not been any type of rain in Canton, GA. So their "repair" could not be validated.**** So he sends out a new set of repairmen to my house. They climb on the roof do their inspection, I over hear that the "repair" may have been done in the wrong place. After about 10 minutes, I get a call from John who tells me that the damage is "wind related" and that its a new issue, immediately the New Yorker in me detects the "BS" and I proceed to interrupted him mid sentence. I explained to him that the problem is not a new problem and that it should have been detected when they first came out to visit. And that since I needed someone and they were already present at my house they had me over a barrel so I would pay for their service but would appreciate a guarentee that this time the fix would hold until we had the issue repaired permanently. ((I should mention that during our conversation I explained to him that I was waiting on a final quote to get the issue fixed.)) "John" then became upset that I had called him on BS and then he proceeded to tell me that his men were not equipped to do any work on my roof and that I should call one of my estimates to get the repair work done. MORE BS, since I dont understand why a company would send a team of repairmen that are not equipped to do any type of work. BOTTOM LINE: If you need a friendly customer service oriented roofing company that will stand by their work not try to rip you off, stay away from this company. read more

Sloppy work with an attitude!!! around 10 months ago they laid oak flooring after a flood....now some areas are problematic, in one area the flooring is not level and many of the oak slabs are grey patched. Secondly, they replaced some acoustic tile in lower level and one is cracked and the metal grid is hanging down....they sent Daniel who is totally inept with a major attitude who insisted it was like that before...I called Servpro who attended to the drying of the wet areas and they had before pics...surprise surprise....the grid was not hanging down nor where there any cracks in the tile.....They refuse to do anything. read more

I'm still in shock while I write this review. I called them to open the ceiling in my laundry room in order for the plumber to gain access to a leaky pipe. When I entered my property, I found that they had removed my floors, my base molding, and even the door frame. I never authorized them to do that. They stated that my husband had signed a general waiver which allowed them to basically destroy my house and it also allowed them to bill me for them to do it! have no idea how to proceed. Lesson learned. However, now I have to figure out how to put my home together due to a simple leak. Honestly, I know that they did that to just raise the bill for the insurance company. Zero would have been a more accurate rating. They began project in June 2016. The damages to my home were caused by water damage. Mold and asbestos were discovered. I was without a kitchen until February 2017. Southeast Restoration did not complete the job. They did not appreciate the fact that the floors they replaced were inferior and the proper material was not placed on concrete prior to installation. I called office and a "Manager" visited my home. I showed him where the floor was buckled (this was within 1 week of installation) and glue seeping from some of the wood. His reply was I was being too "picky" and all I had to do was wipe the paste with a cloth. I told him that the Project Manager or someone in charge should have been onsite to check the work. There were 2 installers and it was the Friday before Labor Day (2016). He said the best they could do would be to charge me for removing the "new" floor (at my expense) and purchase the material needed to replace the buckled floor. This was not a win win situation for me the customer. I was also told they could not match my kitchen cabinets. Therefore, the cabinets would have to be custom made taking 6 or more weeks. My kitchen had been remolded not more than 5 years and I told them were to check if they had. The Project Manager pushed for the custom cabinets and said the match would be better. The floor debacle resulted in Southeast and I parting ways. I believe they thought that they could ignore my concerns. Fortunately, I found a reputable contractor. The matching cabinets were found at the place I had told Southeast Restoration check. Southeast told me they were unable to find. Cabinets were ordered and installed within 1 week. By the way, SER told me they destroyed the cabinets they removed from my kitchen. Also, my contractor discovered behind the sheetrock replaced by SER: 1) Live wire inside wall with no cap 2)No Junction Box 3)Did Not comply with Code 4) Fire Hazard (there were sparks when contractor attempted to remove wires from the inside of wall). 5) Additional openings breeching sheetrock to locate wires Cabinets were ordered and delivered within 1 week and installed. I hope this review will prevent this from happening to other people. Particularly, those of us who have no one to go to battle for us. God protects widows and orphans. read more

Called for a tree removal that hit my house and ended up on the driveway. They came out and cut into chunks (2 Hours) and left them in the yard. The only removed the brush (somewhat). They charged us approx. $3k and are giving me a hard time about the insurance deductible (threatening a lien on my house). I just feel like I have been ripped off. read more

Maybe the other locations are better, but avoid the Macon location at all costs. They were referred by USAA to repair water damage in my office area. The guy showed up with some really horrible, cheap carpet that he recommended for us. We have better carpet than that in our rental houses. It was awful. I asked him where to go to select flooring and he acted like he didn't know, so I kept prompting and finally got a name. Then I had to prompt him for the paint. TEN DAYS LATER and he hadn't called back, so I called USAA and got a new contractor. I can't work in my office until the work is completed and we're already at 10 days. This is very poor customer service, and if the customer service is that bad, I'd hate to see the kind of word they would do. read more

SE did a large job Feb 2017, at suggestion from USAA..Hardwoods, Master Bath, painting.. all repair from water damage over 25K.Good job with exception of Master Bath. Pretty crappy job with paint in bath( Bubbles in paint, it peeling in places) came back to " fix the problem "Oct 2017... they found water damage in wall( on us) needing Mitigation to come out and secure area and get rid of mold.Well, now it's July 2018.. I have reached out at least a half dozen times to get the Master bath put back together . This is OUR cost because of the mold.. SE just responsible for paint. No response , no solutions no help. Guess because the job now doesn't fall in the right $$ range. I have no working bathroom now for several months. Job they initially had repaired due to water damage 12/16, leaked again same area, same way( shower) happened agsin Memorial Dsy weekend.. still NO resolution. Saying they don't see a leak! Really? same place, same way.. USAA needs to re-evaluate who they suggest their members to call for help. Now I've been without a sink and vanity since Feb.. No shower since end of May. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!! I will not call out individual names but SER in Canton is absolutely unprofessional and incompetent. An Estimator came to my house and it took over a week to get initial bid after insurance company did all the measuring and the bulk of the cost calculations, etc. This estimator left out items twice that I had to identify requiring supplemental reports. It wasn't like my entire house had to be rebuilt although they would have been on my doorstep had that been the case. Nevertheless, they would not return my emails or answer my questions. After two months total and, almost 3 weeks after I asked a question by email concerning the promised contract and start date, I called my insurance adjuster to complain. The next day I finally get an answer to my question, which was no... and them telling me to find another contractor. There was no conflict, I only met the guy for 30 minutes at my home and exchanged a couple of emails that took forever to get a response. I am 3 months into this insurance claim of water damage to my master bath that requires a complete bathroom redo. Moreover, I have a hole in my ceiling above my Christmas tree on the first floor in addition to other stains from the damage. We have to walk around on broken and missing tile that was pulled back to find the extent of the leak initially. My guess is that my $10,000 job was not LARGE enough to make it worth their time. That is fine but they should have excused themselves immediately rather than leading me on for 2 months. I'm sure their plan was to use my job as a filler for some side money in case one of their crews found themselves a little slow, thus the reason they refused to tell me when they would be able to start the job. That is unacceptable!! I have filed a complaint with my Insurance Agent and company that SER should be removed from their approved contractor lists. There are other options so save yourself the grief from the start. DO NOT EVEN CALL THIS COMPANY IF YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY PROVIDES THEM TO YOU AS AN OPTION. read more

This company is not competent or able to fallow the simplest instructions. First we got the estimate, ok fine. It was 2 or 3 days later I got a call from the "foreman", he was going over it with me and out of the blue said he we could change "reallocate" where the money goes to repair. still fix it but not do all the work and add stuff outside to scope of work. Needless to say we said NO. We said repair as the damage needs to be repaired, show us the proof of work (this is where the can't get it right). we get a call saying its all done, No proof of work plus the bill went UP twice the original estimate. NO call to tell us what was going on, NO email with proof of work, and NO notice that it was even related to the scope of work. I drove down to meet with the company on site, they didn't show. I viewed the work with our renter to ensure it was safe for them to live there. Did an inspection of "work" done. Noticed the mentioned added work NOT on or agreed to was done and added to bill. Also view the crawl space in attic and the "new" insulation was not new or any of the insulation was new in roof. Pointed out the paint work looked like a child was painted by a three-year old. paint all over the windows floor and in bookshelf's. Called an talked with foreman, VP and few others about the issues, was assured they would make it correct. Made another trip down to the home for a second walk through "with" them no so again, and yes paint was fixed insulation we got billed for was still NOT new the poor repair outside the home was still there not fixed. Told them we will NOT pay until it is 100% perfect. I had a very large tree branch fall on my roof about a month ago. Southeast Restoration was one of 3 companies that my insurance agency recommended to me to do the repair work. I had all 3 companies come by the house for an estimate. All 3 estimates were the same so I really just went with gut instinct on who to choose and I am so glad I did. I knew within about 5 minutes of talking to the estimator from SE Restoration that I was going to choose them to do the repair work. The estimator Josh was honest and straightforward. I just got the feeling that I was dealing with a good guy so I decided to go with them. After I hired them I then got to meet Chris the project manager and again I could not have been happier. They were both good,honest straightforward and professional. Any phone call that I made to him or to Josh was returned within the same day. I was never made to feel stupid for asking a question and more importantly I never got the feeling that they were trying to pull something over on me. I knew everything they were going to do and they did it when they said they would. I have had a bad experience with a contractor before and I was not looking forward to having to deal with it again. I have had the unpleasant and horrific experience of working with Southeast Restoration because of unexpected and accidental water damage to my home. I had billing issues, customer service issues, repair issues and service issues with them. They took too long to get the scope of work done, during which time my family & I had no use of the kitchen or downstairs living area at all. It took them over 3 months to get the work completed. They were dishonest about the actual cost of materials and labor. Their sub-contractors broke and damaged some of my property and all the company cared to do was patch things up, instead of fixing it properly. They broke a part of my cabinetry and covered-up the broken piece instead replacing the piece to its original state. They marked-up my wall with a pencil and gave me a difficult time in painting it over correctly. They scratched-up my newly installed wood floors and threw-away the kick-plate to my dishwasher. There was damage to 2 doors. The sub-contractors work was of poor quality. The company will want to keep the O&P even if they did not do the work, due to a change order. I would not recommend that you work with this company nor directly with Chris Lutz (general manager) and Jay McNair (estimator). Mr. Lutz is a leader within the company, he is setting an example as to how to treat customers. If Mr. Lutz is dishonest to customers, like he was to me, then his employees will do the exact same thing. When he came to meet with me because Mr. McNair had lied to me I thought he was there to mediate the situation but he was not. Mr. Lutz was dishonest as well regarding a credit I should have obtained and worked the contract numbers to his advantage, for their gain and profit. Mr. Lutz did not deduct my credit based off of the actual scope of work/cost, but instead on the original contract before the work order changes. I spent over 1-1/2 hours with Mr. Lutz in my home literally mulling over his deceitful tactics, till I gave-up and paid the remaining balance, with out obtaining the correct credit on the scope of work. This should be considered racketeering. Please be aware that there are contractors after the insurance money, and this is one of those companies. I learned my lesson the hard way as a first time homeowner and would not recommend this company nor recommend you work with the individuals I referenced after experiencing their bad/poor business practices.
