This was my first visit to Southeast Smiles. I have gone to several dentist in Wilmington, but was referred to this office by a very dear friend after she also started getting care at this office and was very pleased. From reception, to the technician I interacted with, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also appreciated that I was seen close to the scheduled time and never felt rushed. Once the technician brought me back, I went through a quick X-ray and was led into the exam room. The room was clean, organized and comfortable. Again, within minutes, the dental hygienist arrived and started her routine. I'm very particular about following up with dental care and exams. I floss and brush frequently, and take pride in my teeth. Nevertheless, this dental hygienist took her time, and was extremely detailed in checking the health of my teeth, and even better, she was meticulous with a very detailed cleaning! I can say that in all my years, she is most definitely the best Dental Hygienist I've ever had! Great job! Next, I was welcomed to the practice by a super down to earth and friendly dentist: Dr. Panchal. We went over any concerns and and oral history, and, of course, he studied all of the X-rays taken. He proceed with the oral exam. Dr. Panchal patiently explained his findings and discussed his recommendation, treatment plan, and timeline. I'm pleased to say that my first visit was above average! From professionalism, welcoming and very clean environment, detailed staff, everything was perfect! Dr. Panchal has a great personality and I can see how he sets a wonderful standard which staff fallows. His wit, and lack of pretense were great, and even better: his knowledge, his ability to put the patient at ease, and his communication skills were wonderful! Dr. Panchal is the BEST dentist I have ever been to. I am so sad because we were only able to see him for about a year before relocating to Georgia. My husband and I both visited Southeast Smiles for our teeth. The hygienists are all warm and friendly. This was especially appreciated since my husband is a little anxious when it comes to needles/fillings. I had several cavities filled and the composite was beautifully-set and looked just like my actual tooth. Moreover, despite maintaining a very busy practice, Dr. Panchal ALWAYS took the time to talk with me about random topics and nonsensical bantering. He has a great sense of humor! The experiences I've had at southeast smiles have changed the way I view a dental visit. I just had a cavity filled for the first time in over 10 years. The technology used to perform this procedure was a true game changer. Dr. Panchal has a solea laser machine. This made it possible to have an almost completely pain free experience without the need for any anesthesia. It was fast and simple and I could not be happier with the results. read more

Best dental experience ever! I woke up Sunday with a toothache, being new to the area I researched different offices and found this office and so glad I picked them. I called first thing Monday morning told them what happened and they got me in the next day. Please note its Thanksgiving in two days I really thought I was going to have the pain till the holiday was over. Nope they understood and worked me in, first thing the next morning! Once you walk in the door your greeted with a smile. I filled out the paperwork and right away they had me back getting x-rays, everyone was so nice and helpful. Dr. Panchal is absolutely fantastic, he explain what will happen and goes step by step with you checking on you. Couldn't have asked for a better dentist! Timely, effective and pain free! Side note: I had just changed my insurance and was unsure about a wait time and instead of them just having me call the insurance company they took care of it all! read more

I always dread coming to the dentist office, but today was a different experience. Dr. Panchal and his staff made the experience a pleasurable one. The office was clean and welcoming. Dr. Panchal's approach is enthusiastic and reassuring. I had a crown replaced from a previous dentist today. Dr. Panchal was able to fit me for a crown and place a new one all on the same day. He even followed-up with a personal phone call afterwards to see how I was doing, I never had a dentist do that before. Overall, a passionate staff and a great dentist. I was surprised to see the bad reviews here...I normally don't like to write reviews on yelp but I think the crew here deserves a fair review. Like most people, I hate to see dentists. But Dr. Panchal and his team is the BEST. I did a lot of research finding a new dentist when new in the town, and I am glad I made the right choice then. They are all friendly and patient, especially my hygienist Beth! She helped me with my deep cleaning and she was very gentle and patient since I have very sensitive gum. I'd been their regular for over three years and from the first meeting Dr. Panchal insisted I should get rid of my wisdom teeth. I finally did it last year and he and the crew did my surgery beautifully. When in my surgery, someone lent me her hand to hold tight because she knew I was afraid. Just go here, people. Now I move to the west coast and finally realize it is so hard to find a caring crew like them. read more

I went to this dentist as a new patient and was told I would need four crowns on my teeth and braces. I got a second opinion at Caperelli and Mellis and they said that they would only recommend the crowns if I was in pain or discomfort and that crowns can create more wear and tear on the remaining tooth. They said braces were recommended only for aesthetics and if I was having problems (I wasn't) and my teeth were healthy. I've been to the dentist yearly and was never told I was heading in the direction of crowns. I also spent about 5 minutes with the actual dentist and was given very little info on his treatment recommendations. I got a second opinion because I thought it was odd that out of no where I would need a couple thousand dollars of work done with little explanation. read more

So last week I had broken a tooth on some crunchy food, I scheduled my visit and they fixed that on the spot, a couple days later had my cleaning. These folks are amazing at what they do. Thorough first time visit: the tech was engaging and careful; kept things relaxed. Dr. Panchal has excellent bedside manner--super courteous, sincere, interested in the whole patient and without formal "doctor head" superiority which I always find annoying. After a year of avoiding this great local business due to my anxiety, I figured it was time to take advantage of having two forms of dental insurance and get my fillings taken care of. The Dental technician did a great job of talking to me and keeping me distracted during the cleaning. Unfortunately, I will have to make two return visits to get all the filings I need fixed but I am very glad to know that my teeth have not gotten worse in a year. Can't say enough good things about South East Smiles. I am glad to find a new dentist but I really wish I had perfect teeth and could avoid this place altogether. read more

I only went there one time and would not go there again. The hygienist kept asking me personal questions non-stop for the whole hour while I was sitting there with my mouth wide open. like I'm paying them for asking me questions. The dentist himself makes inappropriate comments. Besides, he gave me a $6K treatment plan like I looked like I could spend that kind of money just on my teeth. he told me my existing crown had to be replaced. That was 4 years ago. Don't be scammed by the 89$ deal they try to sucker you in with. I really hate to have to give this review because I did enjoy the lady who did my cleaning , but that does not excuse how they tried to get one over on me . Said my my gums were bleeding to much and had to break my cleaning up into two. Came back the second time thinking it's free cause they are continuing the cleaning but no! They charged another 86$ . So that great deal turned into a 172 $ cleaning !!! What a joke ! Doesn't end there , it's almost laughable the list they came back with from the X-rays . Every single filling I had supposedly needed to be replaced . They handed me a chart and the cost of each and all together which would be about 3000$ ! I can only LOL. I endulged in some popcorn that "popped" a filling in my tooth. The pain was horrible. I phoned the office of Dr. Panchal, and was able to be seen within the hour. The office is well decorated and updated. Members of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, Dr. Panchal is amazing! He is very skillful at explaining the procedure, and empowered me to be a part of the decision making process. Together we reached a solution that was the best for my tooth and my budget. Have you ever tryed to find a dentists on the day after July 4th, Well, I had an emergency and Dr. Panchal and his wife delivered. They basically opened up the office for us on the 5th, I had a wisdom tooth that was causing excruciating pain. While it sounded like they were shopping, or doing family stuff, He made the situation his priority. There is a new dds in town and he is absolutely wonderful, K-Cups , Bottled Water, Modern decor, pleasant service and you can tell these two care greatly about patient care and experience. I was out in an 1 1/2 after initial discovery process and action plan. I hate the dentists, Havent been in 6 years or more. I will start back up regulary.
