If I could give it a zero I would. Went for a consultation (which they billed wrong and refuse to correct) to have a screw removed from my jaw. First they didn't have the equipment had to reschedule then the doctor broke the screw off and then had to grind the screw down below gum line. Billing refused to correct billing code for insurance coverage upon being enlightened they used incorrect code BY THE INSURANCE company. read more

Amaze-balls! Love this dental practice! Dr. Friberg and EVERYONE here - all just amazing people. Our entire family goes here since we moved from CLT a few years ago. We had an amazing dentist in Charlotte, and we were worried about finding someone of the same caliber... We need not have worried with Thrive Dental office! You truly feel like family when you walk in the door here, it's not a typical practice, as everybody seems to know who you are, even if you are a new patient! They are also extremely knowledgeable, forthright, and IMHO, extremely trustworthy. As an added bonus, for people who are nervous about dentist visits, this practice has "Meadow" the Thrive, Family Dental Dog! She is truly amazing and wonderful with patients that need emotional support from a furry friend; oh, and even if you're completely comfortable at the dentist... I just moved here and left an excellent dentist with excellent dental care and like many of you looking for a new dentist, you're looking at the reviews. So I want to tell you about my experience with this dentist that was very offputting for me. I showed up 15 minutes before my appointment to fill out the appropriate new patient questionnaire. This is the most paperwork you will ever find yourself filling out at a dentist office. I came in for a cleaning because I want to see what I think of the office because I'm looking at them to see if this is where I want to go. I was told that my out-of-pocket would be about $136. I did not understand why it would be this amount because my insurance covers a teeth cleaning. I was told that the charge was 750 to do a new patient work up with x-rays. I had just had x-rays done in October a few months ago when leaving my dentist. I ended up walking out of the office because I felt it was all about money and I was in there 20 minutes while she was on the phone seeing how much my insurance would cover. She said they do not do a teeth cleaning on someone that they haven't done a full work up on as a patient. Maybe things are done differently here in Wilmington but this definitely will not be my new dentist. read more

I recently switched to this dentist office as I work close by and moved to this side of town. The office is so well designed that you're calm as soon as you walk in. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is extremely sweet and professional. I felt comfortable the whole time. My hygienist was great and finally made flossing less uncomfortable. The DDS and support dog get 5 stars but the emergency after-hours gets 3 stars and office management garnish 3 stars.I was never told me that they no longer participated with my dental insurance carrier, then I was referred to an 'out of network endodontist,' for a very costly procedure. I was too trusting assuming that I was in network, being referred an in network specialist. Then the office manager hounded me for payment and even claimed that she told me my plan was no longer accepted (l amretired and on a budget I am hyper aware of info that will affect my pocketbook). She did ask how I was feeling though. Why? Because when I called for emergency care, I had to wait 5 days for my appt and the office manager(who provided emergency back up triage) did not get my antibiotic prescription to the pharmacy successfully , she said she left a message on the answering machine but pharmacy double checked and no message was found. After 24 hours and a high fever and lots of worry (I was post right knee replacement surgery and infections are high risk), I received antibiotic treatment. So...not going back but will miss the dog and decent dental services. read more

Amazing office, I received a recommendation from a co worker and I as pleasantly surprised. Clean office, extremely professional staff and very knowledgeable doctor. I called at 8:30 am had an appointment the same day for 2:00 pm to fix a broken tooth. My dentist was up to date on the newest procedures and extremely gentle using his equipment. Thrive is an unusual dental practice. They are truly there to make your experience positive. The office has a soothing atmosphere. The office equipment is top of the line and he even has a service dog if you have problems with anxiety. I had a painful tooth at the start of the COVID shutdown. My dentist of 25 years said he could not see me until after the Covid problem was over. I was not expecting to be seen but Dr. Friberg' said he would meet me at his office that Saturday morning. I was not even a patient yet but I had saved a postcard ad that he sent out when his new practice in Porter's Neck opened. When I told him that I was surprised to get to see him he said he was building his practice to have long term relationships with his patients and their families. My husband decided to switch from our previous dentist after I raved about Dr. Friberg . He was so pleased and said it was the best recommendation I had given him in our 50 yr marriage! read more

Where do I start in terms of telling how wonderful Dr. Friberg and his staff are? I went into their office today to have 3 cavities filled & it was one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had (which is no small feat considering the work that had to be done)! The office staff are so friendly and helpful - and they go out of their way to make you comfortable during the visit. Dr. Friberg has done a phenomenal job of explaining and educating me during both visits I have had with him. Not only did he get me in and out of the office in under an hour, but I got to watch Netflix on a big screen tv while waiting for the numbing medication to take effect. An added (and much appreciated) bonus was that I got to listen to the episode I chose on noise-cancelling headphones during my procedure. Dr. Friberg and his staff have found a way to turn what oftentimes is an unpleasant experience into one in which I felt valued, safe, and in great hands.
