Overall, disappointed by my experience with Southern Arizona Rain Gutters for a gutter & rain tank installation. We decided on Southern Arizona Rain Gutters as they were previously featured on a list from Watershed Management Group/Tucson Water, though it appears they are no longer reccomended by WMG. There was a lack of attention to detail and care by the SARG team. Our tank and gutters work fine most of the time, but with the quality of work was not in line with the cost. We experienced the following issues: -They offer a limited number of gutter colors, I was assured it would match our paint but it was starkly different upon installation. -When the team came, they rolled the tank over a locked gate instead of going around to a gate wide enough to accommodate the tank because it was further away, scratching the tank up in the process. -They incorrectly cut a gutter and had to come back to remedy the issue. -A few months after install there was a clogging problem with the tank, the person who checked it crumpled the gutter attached to the tank trying to problem solve. Now, water leaks out from the input, so we have to go buy a new attachment piece but even worse we have a big mosquito issue from the open tank. read more

Retained Southern AZ Rain Gutters Inc (SARG) for installation of a 1,500-gallon Poly-Mart tank and two separate runs from two scuppers totaling around 100 linear feet of 8" tubing to capture approximately 600 gallons during a 1-inch rainfall (Capturing water from 1K square foot roof area). Within 1-2 days of reaching out to SARG, Lou was on site to assess my plan. Lou was patient, knowledgably and thorough. Lou did return an additional time following some revisions to ensure we were all on the same page, always on time and a class act. After solidifying our requirements, contract was signed, and production began. Our critical path required the tank be delivered weeks in advance of the scheduled install to support another project that would become an obstacle. Mariano the Program Manager delivered the tank, no questions asked to support our timeline. As we closed in on install, Mariano kept us abreast via text - he never left me wondering what step was scheduled next. Jesus and Caleb arrived on time for install - installation could not have gone better. Absolute professionals, thorough and exact on alignments and ensuring the location of the inlets and overflow valve / pop up placement met our expectations. They cleaned up all materials and left the yard as they found it. SARG did a fantastic job, and I COULD NOT be more pleased. A couple tips that may help you help yourself. If you intend to install a rain harvest system, do your research, take the Watershed Management Group's 3-hour class, which is required to apply for your rebate. I am not saying SARG is costly, but you are paying for great service, sound install & support. Know your plan, understand your measurements, your rain capture expectation, where you are collecting water from, where your overflow will be placed in the yard, where your tank will be placed, does your desired tank size meet your needs, is it too big / too small. SARG will help you 'figure it out' but be an "educated / informed consumer" - it will make the process much more enjoyable. I read some negative reviews on stupid stuff like suggesting they "Didn't have an exact color to match my house?" Go buy your house paint and ask them to use it! Be part of the solution not part of the problem. It's my review that this company will do everything they can to help you achieve a successful installation - but it involves the customer having some level of understanding of what it is they are buying. We had a really great experience with Southern Arizona Rain Gutters from start to finish! From the initial estimate through installation, the SARG team listened well and was kind, professional, and thorough. They gave me an initial estimate that our installation would be about three months out from the time of ordering, but they were able to actually shave a month off that time and get them up significantly sooner! The office folks were really good about keeping me in the loop regarding timelines, and working with me to find good appointment times. On the installation day, the installers arrived within the first ten minutes of the time block I was given, and talked through the plans with me before starting the work. They worked quickly, were clearly good at this work, and the installation was swiftly completed. The gutters themselves look great on the house -- the color is right, the setup is right, and I'm very pleased! Every person I dealt with (Chris for the estimate, Andrea and Al in the office, and Pat and Sergio for the installation) was wonderful. As someone who understands what it takes to run a business, I also know how damaging a negative review can be, and I take no pleasure in leaving one. That said, unless people speak up, nothing is likely to change. In January 2024, Louis S. was the SARG salesperson who visited our property to provide a quote for new gutters. He was friendly and professional, and after our meeting, we felt confident enough to hire SARG for the job. After paying the requested deposit, it took months to get SARG to do the job we paid them to do. We made and sent numerous calls and emails to SARG (including Louis, Al Gonzales, Mariano Valencia, Brian M., and others). At times, it felt like we were begging for ANY response. SARG took no initiative to provide updates or to get us on their schedule. When we did manage to get someone on the phone, there was always an excuse for their delays, followed by no communication or updates. By March, we were still requesting that the job be started. A few weeks later, the gutters were finally installed. Despite their team leaving trash behind, we were relieved to finally have the job completed. In June, we contacted SARG for minor repair work. Our pool builder had dented the end of the downspout, which resulted in drainage issues, as by then, we were in Monsoon season. Our builder immediately contacted SARG, more than willing to pay for the repairs. The three of us spent months getting someone to return our calls, texts and emails. The first person from SARG to come out informed us the gutter sleeves had not been installed (whether he meant they hadn't been installed at all or improperly, we're not sure) and that this was contributing to the leaks. A deposit for the repair work was paid right away. Weeks later, despite multiple follow-ups, we were still waiting to hear from SARG. Unless my husband personally got involved, SARG was unresponsive. By September, the repairs were still incomplete. On September 11, we emailed Louis detailing our experience and asked him to intervene. He stepped in, and we were put on the schedule. The team that came out was different from the previous one. They also suggested that the initial installation was performed incorrectly. They claimed neither of the two gutters had been sealed or riveted during the original installation and that one had a problem with the bridge strap. Even though the repair was supposed to replace both gutters, the crew foreman said the work order didn't call for paint or to replace both gutters (they only brought one). Again, they stressed that whoever installed them initially didn't do it correctly & made those notes on our work order while we also kept Louis informed. During the repair, the gutters were painted a different color than the original, so we needed SARG out again to paint everything the same. Again, it took THREE MONTHS to finally have the work completed properly. Despite asking to speak with the owner multiple times, who is not any of the above-named, we were told that we could not have their contact information. We requested that they contact us, but we doubt we will hear from anyone. One thing SARG is good for is collecting your money. It's likely to be the only time you hear from them. Even our pool builder couldn't believe their behavior, much less their audacity to expect further payment, considering multiple crews told us the original job was done incorrectly. Speaking of the crews, besides the first team who left trash behind, the guys who performed the work were all very respectful and kind. None were surprised to hear about our trouble with the head office. Ironically, when the person called our pool builder to collect the final payment, they apologized to HIM and said this wasn't typically how they did business. All in all, since January (that's 9 months since the initial order was placed), we've spent over $3000.00 with SARG. The truth is this is exactly how SARG does business. read more

It has been quite some time since We did business with a company that places so much emphasis on customer satisfaction. Our house required new gutters. My husband solicited four bids. In advance, he had been told by others that Southern Arizona Rain Gutters (SARG) would be high. That was not what we experienced. Their quote was competitive with the others, and more importantly, they were able to handle some odd-angled corners that other vendors could not. As with any job, complications arise. It's how they are handled that makes the difference, and SARG made the effort to determine what we needed. The job was completed, and before we were was asked to settle the balance of the invoice, SARG first called to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Southern Arizona Rain Gutters are expensive, which is okay if the results justify the expense. The gutter instal was good, but the installation of the rainwater collection tank left much to be desired. They did not install a first flush, which was verbally discussed, and worse, they used cheap sewer pipe instead of schedule 40 PVC pipes, which made retrofitting very difficult. When contacted about this problem, they blew it off, and despite dozens of texts and calls, they did nothing. I have rarely seen such poor customer service. Louis, in particular, was full of jokes, but empty of response. I would not recommend this company, and I hope another company with better business ethics will take note and fill this void. read more

We had an agreement and a $2,000+ downpayment all set with SARG two months before the March 16, 2023 installation date. I had called several times and verified the date and appointments. The day of the installation, there was a call from a worker, Mariano, who was impossible to understand, and didn't leave a phone number. His crew didn't show up between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. as they had promised. He was asking about which colors we had chosen, although we had verified the day before and with the salesperson, Paul. I asked to speak with an owner. Someone named Brian called and said that Mariano, the guy that had called, was new and that our job had "slipped through the cracks," and blah, blah blah. I cancelled the job and asked for a return of the downpayment. Brian made zero effort to keep me as a customer. I wouldn't recommend this company. I would like point out that the office staff is very kind and good listeners. I now have to find an alternative before monsoon season. read more

I would 100% recommend this place. My boyfriend and I were desperately looking for a solution to handle our leaking in windows when it rained. We originally thought about getting awnings. But things were way too out of our price budget. So we thought well why don't we try gutters. And we saw these people online and they seem that they were a decent price. They gave us a price based on where we needed the gutters at. And they even offered matching colors for the house which was required for HOA. Originally they were saying that it would be out till September for us to get our gutters in. But we felt like that was way too far especially with monsoon season and the windows allowing water in which we had caulked and done everything else we could. We decided then to have an expedited thing done through them for an extra price. And I'm so glad we did. Because it resolved any water just sitting on the Lip of our windows and it all goes the gutters and the gutters have kept anymore rain from leaking in. What a worthless company this is. Started a quote with Paul at the end of February. It is now the beginning of May with no gutters. Paul was a complete waste of a salesperson, no follow up communication and no attention to detail. SARG installation manager Mariano is the second worthless employee in this company after Paul. After having over 45 DAYS to review my installation, Mariano kept calling me but never left a voice mail that he needed to speak with me. Even lied to me and said he had left voice mails! Great communication skills for a project manager! Finally scheduling a follow up appointment, 24 HOURS BEFORE MY INSTALLATION, Mariano said he would be at my home at an mutually approved time. So a no call, no show at the scheduled time, he shows up 45 minutes late, and expects me to be available. Sorry, should have called, and now have to take my sick elderly mother to the doctor. Great customer service Mariano! After being in customer service for over 36 years, I am amazed at the audacity of some of the "service" companies like SARG that have so many customers that they can choose to do business like this...either take it or leave it. I should have known that there might be problems, as they cannot even hire enough employees to man their phones during the day. Sometimes their phone goes to an answering service during the peak hours of the day, their solution to great customer service. So after dealing with these jokers for over 60 days I have no gutters and still have not been reimbursed my $4300 down payment. I will be contacting the State Attorney Generals Office, the Better Business Bureau and AZ Registar of Contractors to file a complaint. Do not use this company or you will be out money and time! I really appreciated the promptness and professionalism of this company. They came out to give me an estimate within the week, on the spot, and the installation was on the calendar just about a month later. I'm having to pay someone else to reslope the gutters. Sales guy is using the " didn't I tell you so " method. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM. It's funny how the company that's going to fix it says "it's not a problem we can do it". I'm sure they do residential stuff just fine but for me this wasn't worth $3000. We had 6" gutters installed 6 years ago. The are working great. I recently returned to SARG to purchase Leaf guards for the same gutters. I purchased the leaf guards. The wrong ones. Excellent company to work with. From the initial contact for an estimate to the final cleanup, our experience with SARG simply could not be better. SARG was the middle estimate for our small project. A detailed contract with specs and plan was provided for the replacement of one 20' aged gutter/downspout to one section of our flat roof and the addition of one 24' gutter/downspout with a below ground pipe/popup drain combo for passive water harvesting in another area. SARG responded quickly to a cascade of hidden damage discoveries. They coordinated repairs #1. with the termite company, #2. with their subcontractor for fascia replacement and rafter repair and #3. with our previous roofers who needed to be involved in order to keep our warranty there intact. All was done calmly and competently with prompt and continuing communication, with no intimation that our site was turning into the project from hell. Our new gutters with the nifty hidden outflow look fantastic. We are thrilled with the process, the product and the people from SARG. read more

From the initial contact and visit from the salesman, to the appointment reminder and confirmation calls to the installation by Derek and Ethan, everything was handled with a level of professionalism we have not seen since moving to Southern AZ. If there was a change to schedule, we were called with a least a days notice. They called to reconfirm the appointment, then called to give an arrival time for the crew. It is so nice to deal with a company that understands communicating with their clients. We were never left wondering. Save your money! Stratospheric prices matched with slow, inferior service. Don't fall for the "don't hire a tailgate operation, go for the cadillac". MANY call backs (5 at least) I ended up tightening leaking fittings myself. They left me swarmed w/ mosquitos for a MONTH because they couldn't be bothered to come out here and put a cap where they forgot one. Move on! This isn't rocket science. Just had a 6" gutter installed on the front of my house. The installers were on time, very professional and quick. I actually saw them running back and forth to get everything set up and ready. Pleasant and friendly guys and got the job done within an hour, quick but a quality installation. The gutter looks great and they left me with the connectors I need for my underground run off. Rob and Tim of Southern AZ Rain Gutters (contracted through Lowe's) did a very professional job. They called to confirm and were on time. We live in a hilly area, so it was a bit difficult, but they did fine. We highly recommend them 520-299-7246 YES, they are based in Tucson but drive to Phoenix quite often. Our home looks brand new. We were very pleased with the work done on our home. The estimator came on time and was very detailed in his estimate. When we returned from a trip to Seattle the installers arrived on time and did an efficient and careful job on our gutters. I met with an estimator who gave me a quote of $2400 for a 100 foot job (there were two bore holes required which added $300 to the quote). When I told him I was looking for other estimates, he stormed off, wouldn't even shake my hand. He called back a week later to see how it was going, told him I had to reschedule the second estimate, and he hung up. He immediately called back and left a message to the effect of, "Let me save you the trouble of getting another quote...call me back and I'll revise my estimate". When the second company came and gave an estimate, it was for $1000 (no bore holes, my landscaper is doing that). Spoke with SARG again today, told them the competitor came in at less than 50% their quote, and Mark didn't even try to earn my business, just hung up again. read more

OK, one more star for effort here. The course they offer, which is sanctioned by the City of Tucson as a requirement for rebates for water harvesting, was out-of-date on information. This resulted in us getting a far lower rebate than expected from the city. SARG stepped up to the plate and offered us a refund for the amount lost on our rebate. This is the right thing to do, but they didn't have to do it. A great sign of honest and ethical business right there! They've won my seal of approval and I'd certainly recommend them just on the way they handle business alone. read more

We contacted SARG about upgrading our existing water harvesting. We want to move our 400 gal Bushman tank to our guest house, and install a larger 800 gal tank on the main house. Southern Arizona Rain gutters workers they might be; however, if they have to deal with your masonry, pavers, brick, or concrete to get the gutter job done, forget it. They admitted that they are gutter installers and do not have the tools or equipment to repair the rest. Unfortunately, they admitted this only after they made a mess at my home. It took over 60 days for them to come back and finally complete the job. They only seemed to take notice and offered to come back after I notified them that I had contacted an attorney about the floor's damage and dangerous condition after they installed underground drainage. There is nothing they can say to excuse not coming back days after they started the gutter job since I notified them about the patio the day after their office personnel said they were done with the gutter job. It took five appointments, five different workers, multiple calls, and multiple emails. They finally brought in a second company to repair damage to the patio floor. Stay away from this company; they will promise a great deal and make their incompetence look like you are the problem. If they attempt to refute anything I have posted, I am willing to share all the evidence with anyone that needs proof. Just do not use this company, I am sure there are others that will do a better job of taking responsibility for the mess or damage they cause to install gutters. This company will not unless forced to by getting yourself an attorney and thereby adding to the job's cost. read more

I called the office to schedule an in home estimate for 3 cisterns to capture rain water. The rep Trace came to my home. Waa not well prepared. He said he would get back with me in a few days. I have been waiting for 4 weeks. I called tge office and asked for a manager to call me. No call, no excuse. Poor business practice. read more

These guys did such an awesome job the first time we called them back again. Brain is a master at installation and leaves the site looking clean and polished no clean up work for me to do! They were quick and efficiant to provide an estimate and complete the job. The company is great, their people are great, they do an excellent job from start to finish. Very unprofessional when I expressed that I did not like the manner in which they chose to run my downspouts. The downspout was set 2 feet below the roof line, which, if it were stronger, could have made a nice chin up bar. I asked to have the downspout rerun to hug the underside of the roof line. The owner initially agreed to the rework and rescheduled for the following week only to cancel the day of the appointment. He said his crew ran out on him he and wanted to reschedule the following week. The downspout was causing damage to my paver patio and I couldn't wait. When I offered to do the rework myself in consideration for time and materials, the owner insulted me. Additionally, SARG took my credit card for a down payment and subsequently charged me in full for the balance without my permission and before I could approve the work. Pretty sure that is a fraudulent charge. After heated discussion over the phone, owner agreed to give me materials to finish the job myself. You don't get what you pay for with SARG. If you want to pay premium prices and finish the job yourself, this is your place. Can't believe they can stay in business. Go elsewhere with your hard earned dollar. P.S. The workers littered my yard with sheet metal scraps and rivets and did not clean up. read more

I interviewed 3 companies to install two copper leaderheads and downspouts. SARG's estimator seemed the most knowledgeable. I gave them a 50% downpayment and 2 months of time to order materials and set up an install for our next trip to Tucson. This project was very time sensitive because of having only a one week window of time in Tucson to be present for the install. I was in contact several times with the salesman over the 2 month waiting time to confirm that all materials (copper, had to be special ordered) were ordered and to reiterate that the install date was of utmost importance. I received an email from the salesman with a picture attached showing one of the leaderheads. He wanted to let me know that the materials had arrived. Obviously the crate with the downspouts was not opened to check condition. One day before the install date a representative called me to say that the downspouts were damaged and had to be reordered and hopefully they would arrive before our departure the next week so the install could still be accomplished. Of course they did not. I cancelled their install and had someone else pick up the materials. I could not see rewarding them with the install labor when they were so irresponsible in the procurement of the materials for a job that they knew was extremely time sensitive. No way to run a business. This customer not satisfied! read more
