They have operated in GA only and now are preying on the influx of people coming to FL. I contacted them for a bid and Richard came immediately. The price was right (first red flag) so I proceeded. We picked out the stone at UMI where he said to go. After choosing the stone we found out he had no account. This concerned me but he told a Good story. He asked for an 80% deposit which I refused. Then he said 50% material. Because it was an e tire home I asked to break it apart in the kitchen as one phase n laundry/ baths as another. He agreed and I paid for the stone in the bath/laundry first. After his run around for weeks, they came and did the bath only- no laundry room. He said he'd be back for laundry when he did kitchen. I paid him Upon finishing the bath on all labor for bath n laundry room. He was supposed to finish the kitchen a few days later. When he didn't show as promised he cussed me out, insulted me, complained I was ruining his vacation in Greece and my project wasn't his problem. After days of back n forth he gave another install date. He never showed. When I asked why, he stated the edges were taking longer and he'd let me know. Something smelled fishy so I contacted UMI and he'd never purchased the kitchen stone at ALL! They were still there. He'd taken my money for a slab for laundry, 3 slabs for the kitchen and stated they were fabricating it yet never even purchased them. This is now a full felony committed not just poor ethics and terrible business. We have filed with our financial institutions, and he is still not refunding our money. We had to pay another contractor to go purchase the stone, tel he exact stone we have in writing he said he's fabricated, and pay a premium as we are unliveable in our home now. On top of all of this the work he did do, is shotty and installed wrong so we have to have it all pulled out and refitted. The shower seat collects over 1" of water, the edges aren't true, and the threshold for the shower wasn't adhered and still loose.
