Here is how they do their scam: - You apply and qualify = Then they send you someone to do a "home inspection" to "see what appliances you need" - Then you get a written APPROVAL NOTICE, listing what appliances they will give you After that, the show is over. You get nothing. How ? Here is how: You are referred back to their contractor, who is actually a co-conspirator, meaning his job is to give you nothing, so the funds they receive from the government does not get spent on appliances, but stays in Edison and Harrison Cons' pockets. John Harrison is the name of the local crook who works iwth So. Cal. Edison Crooks, to scam S.C.E's customers. When I found this all out and began to broadcast it, in addition to launching multiple complaints, S.C.Edison suddenly withdrew their Appliance Approval. I called and asked what reason they have for it. Answer: we have no reason, no cause. We just decided to void the Approval. Then they restarted the application process, saying I will need to wait for 30 days for re-approval. Whether they approve an application or not, doesn't even matter. Fact is: the customer never gets an appliance, because S.C.E and their fake contractor keep the funds in their own pockets. There are probably even no appliances anywhere. John Harrison Inc is not an Appliance Contractor. He is listed as a Construction Contractor. This mega-scam is going on for years. I am now taking it to the government and the Feds. Then I call another number that transferred me to a live person only to be told I had to be without electricity for 24 hours before I could get a refund. We had to have a outage in Agoura Hills, California, they say it such a wide spread issue somewhere else proving they're incompetent, incapable in being more responsible with our electricity this is unacceptable for during the day and we have to go through stupid planned outages every other time of the year. Here is a thought why can't we have our electrical lines underground instead of having electrical power lines above ground while we have to have power pole lines above ground that comes with your stupid outages, short circuit breaker & fire danger obstacles on us too? I signed up fr outage notifications. Got one via text. Got out the whole house generator, prepared it for operation but the outage never came. Went to the website and it states no outages are scheduled for my address although the text says there is. Tried to use the website for clarification; useless. Called customer service. Spent several minutes navigating through a vo-bot that had no selections I could use and no selections to escape. Finally just started babbling nonsense sounds so it finally dumped me into a cue for a human . . . "your expected wait time is 55 minutes!?! Seriously for how much we are overpaying for what we get they can't hire a college student to answer the phone??? Pathetic. I got stuck in the loop of their automated services. I could not get a human. I read another review here that recommended saying you were having trouble with the website so I could get a human. Basically about as crooked a company as any can be, not just utilities. We have 25 solar panels and they still find a way to bill us over $200 a month. We export more energy to them than we use from them, and yet we are still paying them that much. Why, you ask? They charge us 28 cents per kWh (during peak times) and pay us 1/2 a cent per kWh for the energy we export to them. I plan to file a formal complaint to the California Public Utilities Commission for this corrupt practice. They are reeling from lawsuits for the Eaton fires, as they should. SCE is the worst and robbing us blind. My normal bill is average $350 a month. Last month it was $640 i almost had a heart attack. Why? Why? Why. My neighbors were Flabbergasted we all live in he same condo's. SCE needs to make themselves more available and with a live operator...This month $620 and I cut back at least 50%. I need to speak with upper management or attend the very next meeting, something is very wrong and it's not my air conditioner unit. I was told SCE has to go to other states for energy. Poor customer service , automated system set up so no physical person will answer. Prices out of control

SCE under the guise of safety shut off power to moreno valley, and many others as you know and at their convenience. My area is flat, and no to very little vegetation and the power is off. There is no reason to keep the power off in 92555 area code for days, that is ridiculous or very poor management by SCE. They have a website, but in actuality, they do not want to hear or talk with you. Contact to a person is virtually zero, unless of course they are COLLECTING funds. I understand power being turned off is necessary at times, but not for days. I don't really care that the Santa Ana winds are blowing. Power can still be turned on at night or for certain lengths of time. Food begins to spoil, frozen food thaws thereby wasting hundreds of dollars to the customer, and they do it without consequence. Not only that with all the Solar power being conducted and mandated out there, they ought to have tons of extra electricity, but no. They can't even run the basic infrastructure without having brown out in the summer or whenever they decide. I got a $400 electric bill, almost double my monthly average I've tried three times to inquire about the huge increase. The first time I was on hold 47 mins and had to hang up. The second time was 53 minutes and got hung up on, and third time I was on hold for 46 minutes before my phone battery died. This is the problem with government monopolies. 42+HOURS FOR SCE TO RESTORE POWER DURING LABOR DAY WEEKEND. All the meat & dairy products were toast by Tuesday. Ice cream??? After 2 days that's money down the drain even if you limit the opening & closing of your fridge/freezer. Many bad thoughts & words are currently running through my mind as I think of what to write about SCE right now but you're smart enough to figure out what they are so I'll skip my outburst and get to the things that angered me during this ordeal. 1) The inability to reach SCE to find out what's happening and how long it will take to fix it. (Unless you call IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT OR EARLY MORNING!) 2) Being given false information after finally getting through. I got a representative on the phone at 2:47AM on Sunday morning. He spoke with a field supervisor and they said it should be fixed between 4 or 5, or in other words, a couple of hours. 4 o'clock rolls by and so does 5, In other words, BS. I call again later to ask what happened. She says she sees I spoke with someone earlier but there is nothing about power being restored in a few hours. Why am I not surprised? Monday night, one last desperate call to a representative. She has the decency to at least tell me there is no way to tell how long it will take but she will mail me a claim form so I can try to get SCE to reimburse some of costs for our food we couldn't salvage. Good luck with THAT huh? 3) Their recorded updates are completely useless. 5PM today turns into 2PM tomorrow and later, 1 PM the next day. Their whole system is inept and useless. It's like going to a fortune teller without the extended wait time on the phone. It's like being trapped at the DMV run by sloths or waiting for cable or phone service who MIGHT show up eventually if you are extremely lucky. All examples of inefficiency like our beloved federal and state governments. That's a fate I wish upon each and every member of the SCE Board of Directors and management staff. Final Update: SCE shows their true face as they refuse to refund ANY of my losses. Despite the fact their employees gave me conflicting information on when my power would be restored (15 hours eventually turning into 42 hours), Edison declined to pay one red cent even though they should have said they had no idea when power could be restored. The first service rep even spoke with a field operator who told him power should be up between 3-5 AM Sunday morning which would have been fine. If SCE had the integrity to be straightforward from the beginning, I could have taken steps to salvage food from the start! I ASSUMED that I could believe what I was being told. Well you know the old saying about assumptions,? They make an A$$ out of U and ME. Please dear people, never take a utility company at its word. It's like taking your car to a shady mechanic or believing a politician when they promise change and to SERVE the PEOPLE. Yup, we get SERVED alright but all of these clowns. I wish it were possible to put negative stars! I used to think AT&T had the worst customer service. I have since changed my mind. I now believe that SCE is much worse than any other company we have had to deal with. The fact that in order to speak with a live person took an EXTREME amount of effort, persistence, and tons of hanging up and redialing aside, after speaking with an agent, we got disconnected by the agent's mistake; however, she never called us back, even though we had given her our cellphone number during the call. We had to call ALL OVER AGAIN and after 2 hours of trying, we got connected with another agent who made us go through everything - every single step - all over again. For the elderly who are NOT familiar with online services, the system is ridiculously impossible. Also, there is NO CHAT available on the website. Shame on SCE for lack of customer service! read more
