Meanwhile, the refrigerator was off too, and we were not about to lose all our food. We turned to Yelp. The reviews looked solid, so we called. They answered right away. A few minutes later, we got a text saying Daniel was on his way and would arrive in 16 minutes. And he did. We described the issue, he inspected the outlet, and removed the cover. The receptacle was cracked in five places, with melted and burned plastic. It was a dangerous mess that could have turned into a serious problem. Daniel replaced it, flipped the breaker, and everything came back to life. No more crackling. Coffee maker working. Fridge humming again. We are very happy with the service and have added Johnathon Brown Electric to our go-to list. If we have another electrical issue, they will be our first call. Long story long to follow: We had 4 ceiling boxes that we wanted swapped out for fan-rated boxes. I found Gianni Electric on Yelp, requested a quote on the app over the weekend, they replied quickly with a few extra questions and took down my contact info. They got Alec out the next day for a quote, and he came back the following day for the install. We probably could have gotten the work done a bit cheaper if we went with some self-taught handyman off of thumbtack, and I could have done the work myself (though it would have taken me a lot longer and probably would have made a mess in the process); but plumbing and electrical are two things that are worth paying a professional who has a license and insurance for. The price was reasonable and pretty much spot on what we had guessed it would cost us before reaching out. The whole process was pretty painless, and we'll definitely use them again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends.

It FAILED inspection on Monday Aug 5th for electrical. AC Mechanical has refused to send a tech out to meet the inspector to address these issues. Storm is coming and though I paid nearly 9K almost 6 weeks ago I do not have a functional generator (and I possibly have a SAFETY HAZARD). Spoke with the owner George who takes no responsibility for this situation and says "I can't help what the city does" and "it's not my fault". Contract indicates AC Mechanical handles the installation and inspection (which the generator has FAILED) "not their fault". To add to this already unbelievable service nightmare, the workers as AC MECHANICAL HIT MY CAR causing $4000 worth of damage when they came to install my generator.
