It can be a challenge to find a sitter to come to the northwest/Hill Country part of San Antonio, but TMAB makes it happen! Before the first visit or prior to traveling, I can schedule a meet-and-greet. As a Chihuahua and a rescue, it takes a while for Charlie to warm up to new faces. Jessica, the owner, ensures that the sitters are a match for him. They quickly learn his personality and routine. They are caring, responsive and trustworthy. Vivian has been with TMAB for a long time and now seeing Charlie. I appreciate receiving updates and photos from their quality time after each visit. Upon pulling into the facility we noticed it was well gated and liked the privacy screens on the fence so the dogs in care wouldn't go bizerk when we pulled up causing a distraction to the whole place. The lobby smelled clean and had a faint homey cinnamon smell which was comforting (A main priority for us was the smell cause it really tells you a lot about the care of that makes sense) We explained that he didn't do well with other dogs in the past, has pollen allergies since we're still adjusting to San Antonio, and that he had some anxiety medication in case he needed it. Turns out he gets along with other dogs very well and made many friends! He also was able to play and tolerate outdoors much better, and he didn't need his meds the last few days of his stay. Huge improvement! We highly appreciate that they offered 24/7 webcams and believe me, we checked in VERY often. I loved that they sent us pictures and messages daily keeping in communication. We feel the care our pup received was excellent and we will definitely will bring him back anytime we need to board him. Staff is extremely nice and Ariel did a great job on his grooming! I know this grooming place had some bad reviews in the past, but, I had a completely different…read moreexperience. I brought in my Chow Chow Rotty, who has a ton of thick fur and sheds like crazy, grooming him is no small job, and I've done it myself, so I know the effort it takes. With the previous owners, Rotty would be kept there from morning until late afternoon, and he'd come home thirsty and needing to pee badly. The environment also didn't feel very welcoming, which left me uneasy. Now, with the new team, the change is incredible. The place smells clean, looks spotless even the kennels and they actually let you walk your dog to the back and settle them in yourself. It's reassuring to see the grooming and holding areas and know exactly where your pet will be. Very transparent. They keep their doors locked because the staff are usually in the back grooming pets, but there's a sign asking you to call, it's just a security measure, and once they come to the door, you're greeted so warmly it feels like walking into someone's home. Most importantly, they take amazing care of Rotty. The longest he's ever been there is 2 hours, which is incredible given the amount of fur he has. I truly feel safe and comfortable leaving him in their care. I highly recommend this place if you want your fur baby treated with love, respect, and professionalism. The new owners are doing a fantastic job. I'm very thankful to their service.
