He bit my husband all the way home from Austin (where we picked him up) and then proceeded to let us know he wasn't potty trained the moment we got to the house. Shortly after, he also let us know he did not like visitors to our apartment. He'd follow them around nipping and growling at their feet relentlessly. We gave him grace for awhile thinking it was the new environment, but after he bit the Petco Trainer during the graduation of Adult 1, we knew we had to do something. From the moment that I called Karma Dog Training, I felt very comfortable. Jeff answered my call and he patiently listened to me explain the situation. He went into detail about dog aggression and referred us to Carolyn. Carolyn was prompt in helping me get scheduled for an appointment and arrived on the decided time. Our first secession was last night. The moment Carolyn arrived I could tell she was perfect for the situation. She is very soft spoken and gentle. My husband and I watched as she went through a series of potential trigger test on him. She isolated sound quickly, which never even occurred to me! Carolyn informed us that Drake's aggression is definitely fear based. She gave us exercises that we can do with our guest to help build his confidence. Also, she walked us through the steps of greeting guest, from the moment they knock on the door. We know that this will be a journey of replacing fearful situations, with positive ones, but I can tell with the tools and advice she gave us, that we have a starting foundation to build on. On a side note, we recently adopted another dog named Elena. We have not had the time to start obedience training with her, and she is only six months. Needless to say, she's quite the wiggle worm. Towards the end of the session, we let her down for the greeting the guest portion. She literally would just plop down in a sit at Carolyn's feet, and spend minutes calmly looking up at her. I was baffled. Her attention span is about two seconds. Overall, we received 10-star customer service! The whole process was fantastic, and we are looking forward to having another session. Let it be known, that I researched, and spoke to over 10 dog trainers/ behaviorists in San Antonio.. and can honestly say my experience with Karma Dog Training was the best! My husband and I have no doubt in our minds that Carolyn will be our go to trainer for any issues here on out.

We just might be one of the most difficult cases LOMA has ever had. Our two rescues were fighting and we called LOMA in absolute desperation. They seemed to get along really well at first and then things went really wrong. We had no idea what to do. We were at a loss. Dr. Lorraine had to use every trick and tool she has to help our boys and to help us too! At that time, our two boys were about 2 years old. We had many so many trials and errors. Dr. Lorraine was incredibly patient with us. The training really was for us just as much as it was for our dogs. Our boys are now 7 years old and they have both made a complete turn around. They aren't the same dogs anymore. They have developed some good manners and they have learned to get along with each other. They actually enjoy having people come to visit versus having the meltdowns they used to have when someone set foot into our house. They taught us how to train our dog to sit , stay, wait ,place as well as learning how to go to his designated space for down and settle. I felt the instructors were excellent. I can't remember all their names, but Fab was excellent. when Rudy graduated from his class, he got a certificate and had a graduation picture taken. Right now I feel that I need to work on these basics before I enroll him in intermediate class, but when he's ready, I will definitely go back.
