Southern Hibachi Express food truck in Greenbrier, AR.
    Nikola T.

Southern Hibachi Express is a gem of a food truck. With an easily accessed location on the main road through Greenbrier, this business offers great food at reasonable prices. You can wait for your order in the comfort of your vehicle and be notified with a beeper they provide or call in your order ahead of time. Employees are friendly, service is fast, and the food is plentiful and tasty. I ordered Hibachi chicken with brown rice. I'm not a fan of broccoli, so I ordered mine without it.

Great place for hibachi Houston won't be disappointed. LARGE portions and excellent quality of food. Priced VERY reasonable. We were in tow visiting friends. Recommendations: Call your order i advance to miss the wait. Whe we were waiting for our food, at least 30 people come in and pick up their food. ENJOY

Driving cross country and was headed to a new hawaiian place in town to grab a quick lunch when I saw the Southern Hibachi Express truck parked in a lot. Quickly u-turned and made my way to it. Ordered the teriyaki chicken and veggies. The portion was huge, one box was too much for two people. And it was so good! After days of eating food on the road, it was just what I needed!

Before ordering, I specifically asked how it worked and was told you just order whatever you want for the flat price. At no point did anyone clearly explain they would add extra charges if you didn't finish every bite of food. When the bill came, they suddenly tried charging us an extra $15 because of leftover food. I told the waitress I was not paying an undisclosed fee that was never properly explained beforehand. Instead of handling it professionally, she became rude and argumentative. On top of that, the food itself was honestly some of the worst sushi and Japanese food I've had in Conway. Service was incredibly slow, which made even less sense considering there were only two tables in the entire restaurant. After a long back-and-forth, they finally removed the charge, but the entire experience was uncomfortable, misleading, and not worth it. I won't be going back.

(We ask every year) Not expecting them to honor it because it's a BIG ASK in food service - they went ABOVE AND BEYOND. We were given champagne and they made a rum cake for us! We were crying with gratitude, the hostesses and wait staff were crying, and it will be an anniversary to remember. The ambiance and decor was edgy and modern. You could actually have a conversation while it not being too quiet or too loud. Oh and the food was fantastic! We ordered crispy rice cabbage salad () a patty melt, Khao Soi, and two cocktails. Unbelievable quality. Even better service! Our waitress, Parker, was knowledgable about everything on the menu, suggested the fries (don't skip those), and very attentive. We will be back.

No loud music so you can talk to and hear your guest. Some of the seating is family style and some individual which is cool. Drinks are amazing and staff is attentive so which made it great service! Food: Menu concept has a variety of food items. It has more Asian flare but also has a few items from other food cultures. Not quite a home run with all. The Appetizers we selected were good. I like the spin on the desconstructed crab Rangoon. It was really tasty and adding the cheese on top gave it a unique taste. The chicken wings were perfectly fried but sauce is required to develop taste. Which is fine if they were going for Korean Type fried wings. Dipping sauces were okay, chile lime is refreshing but not made for fried wings. Gochujang sauce was good and sweet chili heat were fine-Flavors were just as good as a store bought bottle. I was excited to try the crab fried rice but I found it to be dry and the flavor bland. It needed more vibrant veggies. The veggies were cut tiny so the flavors didn't come through like the roasted corn inside or the scallions. I couldn't taste they were in the rice. The "blue crab" was almost invisible. However if you use the sweet chili sauce on the rice it gives it a punch! Portion sizes were large-some too large. And usually that's a sign the food is probably not that great. Chicken Kimchi Stacker-The kimchi on the chicken sandwich was great but couldn't completely deliver enough flavor for the double fried bland chicken. It needed a special sauce to give it a kick. As for the entrees, we wrapped them up for take home. I added more scallions and rice vinegar and a touch of lite soy sauce to the fried rice. And I would probably go back to try other items. I would definitely return for the bar, and great Rangoon dip! Overall, No explosion or burst of flavors but it is well prepared and well presented food with a great staff.

The octopus sashimi was not tender. The white tuna was not particularly buttery as it should have been if it was escolar (not sure what it was really). The eel was deliciously soft and had the traditional sweet unagi sauce atop. The fried soft shell crab for $7.95 was a whole crab fried into about four pieces. It was not as tender as I've had elsewhere but good for Searcy. The unagi don was in good portion with about seven slices of eel atop a bed of somewhat dry rice. It came with some pickled ginger, a wee bit of seaweed salad, and some artificial wasabi. The eel was good.

I've gotta vent here..... as a former Sushi chef in Japan, this bastardization of Sushi has gone too far, and this place is just another contributor.... I see that people's favorites here are the Volcano Roll and other localized concoctions... Here's a hint: If you're seeing 'deep fried', 'sirachi', 'cream cheese' or a multitude of other American ingredients in your sushi roll, it's not Sushi. Sure, you enjoy it, and so do I sometimes, but let's stop calling it Sushi. Fair enough? Let's call them 'Fat Rolls' or "Saucy Snakes' or something that describes them better. OK, off my soapbox. This place is un-inspiring....
