So after about a couple of watching them not acting right. They would not really touched the floor like it was lava. One of Minnie (who we also got there at the shelter in kennebunk) when I picked Minnie one her name and she wanted attention for loving.) Well Gregory acted the same way so I wanted him To be in our family. The unique thing was that he had the floor and the apt. The shelter at first when I said I wanted him and because he was younger and I am diabetic so they wanted me take home one of the older cats were already declared I promised I would not have him declawed. I also knew it is easier to fit in because they havent gotten in a set way of being. It also easier doer the girls. Took two weeks the girls were they acted normal and not watching them go deeper in depressed. But we are a happy parents of our furry kids

As both Mao's adopter and a registered nurse, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of medical…read moretransparency during his adoption. Before adopting Mao, I specifically requested his surgical records but was told his urinary issues had been resolved with surgery and was not allowed to review the paperwork. I never spoke with a veterinarian or medical staff, despite later discovering in his records that a veterinary consultation with prospective adopters was recommended. It was only six days after adoption, on the day we rushed him to the vet for another urinary blockage, that I finally received his complete medical records. Those records revealed that Mao had experienced two urinary blockages while in the organization's care, had only been off medication for one day before being medically cleared for adoption, and was recommended for a foster observation period before permanent placement to monitor for recurrent urinary issues. None of these recommendations were followed, and none of this information was disclosed to us before adoption. From the day we brought Mao home, he showed concerning urinary symptoms, including frequent urination. We carefully followed all instructions, fed his prescribed urinary diet, and monitored him closely. Despite this, he suffered a third blockage just six days after adoption and required emergency treatment. The outcome was devastating. After veterinary evaluation, we were advised that due to the severity of his urinary disease, possible kidney damage, and a potential diabetes diagnosis, he remained at high risk for future blockages even after additional treatment. He required another unblocking surgery and is now being evaluated for Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery. Faced with the likelihood of ongoing complex medical care beyond our ability to provide, we made the heartbreaking decision to medically surrender him so he could receive the treatment he needed. My concern is not that Mao had medical issues. Animals with special needs deserve loving homes. My concern is that critical medical history, documented recommendations, and the seriousness of his condition were not fully disclosed before adoption. Full transparency allows adopters to make informed decisions and helps ensure animals are placed in situations where their medical needs can be properly anticipated and managed. Despite everything that happened, we loved Mao deeply during the short time we had him. In just six days, he became part of our family, which made the decision to surrender him even more painful. We wanted nothing more than to give him a safe, stable, and loving home, and we were fully committed to following his medical care plan. What makes this experience so difficult is the feeling that Mao was not set up for success before adoption. Given the severity of his medical history, the lack of disclosure, and the absence of the recommended observation and veterinary consultation, it seems he was placed for adoption without the safeguards necessary to ensure he was truly stable. Looking back, it is hard not to feel that Mao was denied the best possible chance at a healthy and happy transition into a permanent home. He deserved better, and I hope lessons are learned from his case so that future adopters and animals do not experience the same heartbreak. Do better.

Without going into too much detail, our girl had seemingly overnight developed intense dementia, extreme separation anxiety, and her arthritis had become worse. We were searching for at home euthanasia specialists in case we needed to help her get the help she may have needed, but we also weren't sure it was time. Finding Haven and Dr. Hill on Google is the best thing that's happened to us in a WHILE! One call to her and she explained that while she offers that service, she also specializes in senior dog care and can do a normal assessment or even develop a full hospice/palliative care program for her if we saw fit. She listened to our specific situation, repeated it back to us in her own words to help illustrate that she truly understood what we needed her help with and that she thought she'd be able to help, and my husband and I could finally sleep again. And now, thanks to Dr. Hill's recommendations, Chloe is sleeping through the night again too! I'm sure there will be hiccups along the way but after one session with her, we've learned cognitive training tools, a new people-food diet to help her, and the trick of putting yoga mats down for helping her not slide on our floors! Chloe is already doing better. Thank you, Kelly! I cannot share enough good things about your business for anyone having a senior dog!!

Unfortunately we had issues in receiving our loved one back and after talking with Dr. Hill in the issues we had, she was very rude and condescending with unfortunately has a negative effect on her as she is the owner. We spent a lot of money having our beloved pet using the aquamation process and what we received back was not at all promised. Dr. Hill is connected with Tranquil waters and I don't recommend them at all as they made promises to us which were not received. If I were you I would totally find another company.

Avant-garde European Doberman I wanted to thank Avant-garde…read moreEuropean XL Dobermans for my precious Raena. I understand the hard work that goes into breeding, dogs, and cats, being a retired vet tech/ Doberman breeder. I have seen the best and the worst. Heather has done her homework/research and has acquired the most beautiful pedigrees in the world. I don't say this lightly, but I am so grateful I found what I was looking for in a Doberman. Another thing people don't know about me. I am super picky about conformation, health, and temperament. Owning Dobermans in the 1970s working with police trainers and showing obedience you have to have the right dog for the right reason. I truly believe that a dog has to fit with the owner's lifestyle in personality. This might be hard to believe, but the puppy I got from Heather is the best dog I have ever had in my lifetime. I am 70 years old in a couple of months, gosh that sounds old , and the decision to get a large dog was something I wrestled with. I had placed a deposit with Heather over a year ago and told her I would have to put the project on hold to get a puppy. I hesitated about myself and my strength in managing a big dog. Several months down the road and out of the blue, Heather presented me a beautiful photo and video of a puppy and I couldn't resist. That was the best decision I've ever made. Raena is now six months old over 80 pounds and the sweetest, gentlest, smartest dog ever. Heather does not know yet, but I haven't had a chance to tell Heather that I did an Embark health test on Raena,,, I've always done health testing on my pets, and everything I mean everything came back clear. So if you want the most beautiful dog on the planet, that is healthy, temperament stable, and emotionally sound.. look no further. I can't say enough about this breeder and her wonderful dogs

We knew we wanted to socialize her as soon as possible. When I started researching daycares for her, Red Barn Inn was at the top of the list. Based on reviews I read and the location, it seemed the best fit. When I dropped Gia off for the first time, I was like a brand new mom all over again. Constantly checking my phone to see if there were any phone calls or texts, worried about her and being distracted from my job. She was our only dog and hadn't been around any since we picked her up and I wasn't sure how she'd do. When we got to the location, she seemed reluctant but walked inside, eagerly sniffing and trying to figure out what was happening. Mind you, she's already been through so much, who knows what is going on in her mind. I knew it would be good for her but was very worried about how she'd interact with the other dogs. It brought a smile to my face when I saw her photo posted on the RBI FB page. We opted to do a half day just to see how she did. When I picked her up, I was told she did a great job and got more engaged with the other dogs the longer she was there. After a positive experience, when we returned the 2nd time - she about ripped my arm off running to the entrance. She was so excited! When we got inside- she was jumping all over just begging to be let out to play with her friends. Now, whenever we say "Let's go see your friends" she is VERY excited. Since her first day - it has been at least 6 months, possibly longer--who pays attention to days during the pandemic (haha) - RBI has been amazing for our Gia. She has stayed overnight more than once and is well-cared for and we have not witnessed any concerns. After spending the day with her friends, she comes home exhausted - perfect that she gets her energy out and I can focus on my work day without worry. The bonus is all the great photos of the pups on the website so I can see a glimpse of her day even though I am not with her. I recommend RBI to anyone looking for daycare or boarding for their animal. Staff are wonderful, thanks for all you guys do!
