The layout was nice and I really enjoyed how they incorporated the creek into the layout to give it that extra bit of a challenge, while also making some holes picturesque. Let me…read moreexplain...Southern Meadows is a tiny 9 hole golf course sitting on a few acres of land off Rt 15 in Rush (between Henrietta and Avon). The course is completely open with a few small bushes and tiny trees planted here and there. They have also jammed in a small driving range, putting green, and clubhouse. There are just as many par 3s here as par 4s and nearly every hole is the same boring straight shot with no obstacles or hills. I love this place because I cant stand driving ranges, it's just too static for me and I like walking around and changing it up on every shot. I like that for $10 (the price of many driving ranges) I can come here with an hour or two to spare and practice with a quick 9 holes. If you come here with that mindset you'll love it. If you come here looking for a proper round of golf you'll hate this hole in the wall.

We were set up in a large tent adjacent to the restaurant/party house/club house. The main bar was closed (been there before, it's nice). The food was served family style. Each dish was fantastic. More than enough to feed this hungry group. Bartenders were attentive and prompt. What really impressed me were the servers/bussers. They really hustled. As a former restaurant worker and frequent diner, I appreciate staff grinding it out. I want to give a high five. They had a challenge with a storm that come in but pivoted well. I hope that they see this and can know that their efforts were noticed. Thank you so much and I do know that the groom/bride were very happy.

It's $5 to play per person for the disc golf course and you have the option of renting a cart for an additional fee, though we chose to skip it. The course itself is short with some wooded holes, so you only would need it for the short walk to hole #1 and back to the clubhouse. The course is mostly par 3's with a few 4's thrown in. We felt the design of the course could have taken more thought because you had to double-back across the hole you just played to get to the next hole's tee pads. But otherwise, the course was well maintained and marked. Worth the money to play with a decent mix of open holes and some wooded. We would stop in if we were in the area again.

Golf attire is required. Driving range and putting green are in good condition. Restaurant and bar are nice too, overlooking the course, decent beer draft selection. Staff friendly and welcoming. Was expecting a bit more for the price. Some areas of the course were in rougher shape, including cart path and some fairways/greens. Golf carts are newer though with the GPS trackers. Parking lot is across the road and plenty of spaces. Golf carts can't be used to cross the road to the parking lot though likely due to the GPS trackers and speed limit of the road).

A lot of the holes were pretty straight on and weren't too difficult, although the sport along is very complex lol. The Genesee Valley Golf Course has a north course as well as a south course. We played the north course, front 9 and then the back 9. They offer karts as I'm sure most places do. They have a driving range as well where I was able to get a few practice shots in and get a feel for the club. The staff was very accommodating and informative. Inside they have a little shop where you can purchase merchandise and use the washroom if needed. Overall I had a blast, the scenery was great with the changing of the leaves and the freshly dew grass lol. Would definitely enjoy another round of golf!

Great course. Scored an 8am tee time during a holiday week by calling the night before! Wow!…read more We showed up early to rent clubs and get balls and tees etc. They had two bags of clubs for us. Between the two bags, it wasn't a full set. We purchased used balls at a dollar a pop and new balls for five bucks a sleeve. Ten tees to a bag was only a dollar, so we grabbed two of those. The shop has some merchandise and snacks. Since we had time, we grabbed a large bag of range balls which cost $8. The pro shop worker let us buy 9 holes for three people and said we could decide if we wanted to do the other nine holes later. Three players for nine holes was $20. Not bad! We asked for a scorecard and headed out to the range. Check the scorecard for a layout of the course. The range was empty. We hit a few balls there. I like how they have distance markers on the range. We skipped the putting range. The greens were well kept but wet from recent rains. The fairways were gorgeous but slow because of the rain. The carts were gas powered. I've never experienced that! No gps or electronic scoring. No windshields, so bugs were all in my face. No towel service either. By the end of the day, we had a great time, my shoes were soaked, and I managed to play like a decent golfer with a 1, 5, 5 hybrid, 7, two 9s, a sand wedge and a putter. Lol. Not a full set, but manageable. Bathroom had no light, had to pee with the door open just to be able to see. The course moved fast. We were done in less than four hours. Only two major water hazards. Lost a few cheap balls, nothing major. Overall, a great time. Bring your own gear, a flashlight and eye protection and you'll do fine. The offering is minimal but keeps cost down. Could use a real restaurant and a snack and drink cart on the course. However, they do a great job maintaining the course, so I would recommend a visit.
