To say I'm frustrated would be an understatement. I scheduled a consultation for my 11-year-old…read moredaughter regarding an expose and bond procedure for an impacted tooth, and we waited nearly a month for this appointment. I took my daughter out of school and provided the necessary X-rays from our orthodontist, only to be informed that additional images were required. After finally seeing the doctor, I was then told that this office does not offer sedation for children and that we would need to go elsewhere for treatment. While I appreciate being informed of this, I am incredibly frustrated that this critical detail was not discussed when I initially scheduled the appointment. A few simple questions at the time of booking could have saved us both time and money. I was unaware that not all periodontists offer sedation, and this lack of communication made the experience feel misleading. To add to my disappointment, I was told--without any real concern--that I was still responsible for the estimated consultation fee, despite the fact that the office was unable to provide the necessary treatment. This entire process was a waste of time and money, and now I have start over with a different provider.

Dr. Hamal is excellent. I came to her with an emergency...She discovered extensive root decay where…read morean older molar crown had popped off after the second time it was cemented (by a previous dentist.) It was a difficult case. She was surprised I had not felt more discomfort from the infection before coming in. She worked for quite a while to remove all of the decay, as it was a hot mess. She kept the area pain-free for me during the procedure. (And...bonus...I had more energy once my body was not fighting that infection.) Afterwards, she presented me with options about what I could do next. I opted for a dental implant. Her wonderful, efficient staff presented me with an accurate estimate, explaining how and why any treatment charges were slightly more than my dental coverage. (It's nice to know this information in advance.) Again, each subsequent procedure was painless. In my case, there was minimal swelling and bleeding. I'm sure each patient's gum condition and healing outcome is different, but I would trust Dr. Hamal to be able to navigate those differences. She is practical, empathetic, forthcoming...an experienced, skillful professional. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Blank did gum recession surgery on me about 5 years ago. I was so scared to have the procedure…read moredone because I had a friend who told me it was the most painful experience of her life. Apparently Dr. Blank works magic, because it really wasn't a painful procedure in the least. He did a wonderful job, and I would recommend him/his practice to anyone. I still have appointments on a yearly basis for them to check my gums, and the staff is amazing. The office is a bit small, but it is clean and efficient. As a side note, Dr. Blank is really a funny guy. He prides himself in being the self-proclaimed "best" at what he does. I won't disagree with him, he's pretty amazing!

Recently had a scaling and planing procedure done with Dr. Alan Levy. He not only has a wonderful…read morebedside manner (very kind, gentle, cheery and funny) but he has been an oral surgeon for 30 years and he knows his "stuff!" I was very afraid of the procedure (blood and gore and pain) and he assured me that there would be very little blood, that he would give me numbing shots for the pain and that the pain would be minimal after the procedure. The numbing shots did hurt a bit (when doesn't a shot hurt, right?) but as soon as I was all numb, he went to work and expertly did his procedure. Afterward when I was getting ready to leave, I noticed a bigger bit of blood and mentioned it and he put me right back in the operative chair and looked into my mouth to discover a few blood clots that he suctioned out. Bleeding practically non-existent after that. Pain level was low enough that I didn't need to even take Tylenol. His office is efficient, clean and a nice place to be if one has to visit an oral surgeon. I recommend him unreservedly.

It's the rare person who wants to go to the dentist, and I was one of the majority who hated going…read more I bit the bullet last year and went to what was then Ashville Dental. I had not been to a dentist in 25 years at least when I visited, except to have a tooth extracted about six years ago, and my mouth was a disaster. From the moment I walked into the office I felt welcome. The receptionist was so nice, and that helped put me at ease. The front office staff seem to like each other, and the atmosphere is light-hearted. The waiting room is nice-looking and neat. I waited about five-ten minutes, and Ashley came to get me to take me back for my x-rays. We hit it off immediately -- she is funny, friendly and easygoing. She explained everything as we did it. I met Dr. Kottman (what a sweetheart) when I was ready, and we discussed my dental history and what needed to be done. Every step of the way, I was kept informed about what was happening and what was next. I saw Dr. Doug a couple of times when Dr. Kottman wasn't available, and he is as nice as the rest of them, as is Julie, who assisted when Ashley wasn't there. The medical staff make procedures as painless as possible, and if you need specialist care, they do not hesitate to refer you. Ashley made sure I could get into the office for my next appointment every time I was done with my visit. Everyone is so down-to-earth and friendly, you wouldn't believe it. The prices are incredibly fair, and the work is excellent and timely. I'm almost done now, and I've been into the office so much, I have a feeling I will miss everyone there until my six-month checkup.
