This restaurant gets an absolute A+ all the way around. We headed over to wire Commons for the Summer jam and stumbled into this fabulous place. Period it was fairly crowded. We did not have a reservation. They were so kind at the front sat us within five minutes. There is also outdoor seating that was pretty crowded too. The menu is very affordable. The portions are generous in the food quality is fantastic. My husband got the fried fish, I got the Carolina burger, which are sweet server. Told me is their most popular. It is a double smash burger with pimento cheese, bacon, jam, and a Black Eyed Pea Bass, just a little and it is delicious. The star of the show is the sauces for the fries. The fries are hand cut, and there are six different sauces to choose from. We had garlic aïoli, beermustard, and smoked paprika. There is a 50 Cent charge if you get more than two, we were happy to pay it. They were out of the hand peach pastry pies, again, who knew they were so popular we will get one for sure next time because we will go back. Really really enjoyed it read more

My wife & I had dinner here last night. I had a good old fashioned and we split 2 appetizers - crab fritters and fried green tomatoes. Both were excellent (if I had to pick one that was better, crab fritters but... they were both great). For meals my wife had the bacon chicken and she raved about it while I had the pecan crusted salmon (I loved it). Everything we ordered was not for someone on a diet or looking to eat light BUT there are no complaints as it was all delicious. We did not get a dessert but maybe next time, the brownie sounded good. Worth mentioning, our server was great and when we walked in around 7 there was a corn hole league happening outside and there were about half the tables taken (it was also the first Tuesday after New Years). I got the bullet chicken with corn succotash and salad with ranch. Honestly it was fairly solid. I really do wish there was sauce and seasoning all around - especially on the succotash and chicken. The food oh my. 2nd time eating there. Highly recommend. The whole wire park is a well done location of an old manufacturing plant.

Mixed feelings on this place. Loved the vibe here and everyone was nice - particularly hostess, however service was very slow. Got maybe one water refill for our small water glasses the entire time. Food was also very meh- agreed with the fried deviled eggs being rubbery. We read that review but they sounded intriguing and got them anyways. Crab cakes on the other hand were super tastey! Caesar salad was also very good. Fish sandwich was more batter than fish but fine. Nice addition to wire park but things were either hit or miss. read more

We have eaten here several times and have seats had a positive experience. This trip I had the fish sandwich with fries and garlic aioli dipping sauce, my husband had the burger with Mac and cheese and bacon on it with fries and we enjoyed our lunch choices. My fish was well cooked and flavorful, his burger was very good (albeit a little messy ) and as always the fries were crispy on the outside while tender on the inside! Service was great! Our hostess, Annie, was quick to greet us, and made sure we had the table we wanted and drinks. Our waiter, sadly I can't remember his name, but he came to our table quickly and checked in on us often! He even showed up with refills on drinks without us having to ask! He was also friendly with conversation. We always sit outside and enjoy watching everything going on around us! Love it here and will definitely return. I wanted to love this restaurant, but we were a little disappointed. Let's start with the positives. The ambience and styling were VERY nice and the waitress was attentive. They also have specials, like on Wednesday's 1/2 price on bottles of wine. I got Pecan Crusted Salmon. It was hands down the best tasting salmon I've ever had. Flavorful and not overcooked. My husband got the ribeye and fries. The fries were good and bountiful. But the ribeye was the let down. My guy was probably expecting a nice umami hit, but instead the steak had some kind of an apple-cinnamon tasting glaze which was overpowering. Please leave the steak alone! We'll probably come back at lunchtime one day for hamburgers. Hopefully they will taste like hamburgers and not a piece of candy. read more

I'll be generous and give this casual, "southern" restaurant a 4 star review, because it's new and I think it can work out the few things that were not great. I tried it once for lunch with a group, and once on a crowded, noisy weekend evening. Maybe that's not a fair trial -so I'll just go with what is good and what I hope will improve. FACILITY 4/5 1. Repurposing instead of destruction--- It's a great reuse of an old wire factory with bright, new creative decor, 2. It's nice that they have a covered outdoor dining area, (because it's noisy inside even when it's half full or less.) It's not their fault that the old factory's solid wall and ceiling surfaces reflect a lot of noise. Maybe in the future they can add some sound absorbing panels or other things to help make conversations indoors easier. 3. The outdoor dining area opens onto a very large, covered pavilion/courtyard with adjacent stores and other restaurants. The dining area is open, light, and breezy with a view of the yard and the play yard--all very pleasant during the weekdays. Unfortunately on weekend nights that outside area is very crowded and very noisy as there is competing live and recorded music along with the general crowd noise. 4. The whole area is family friendly and non-vicious pets are welcome outside, too. 5. SERVICE 5/5. Our server was cheerful, attentive and quick. 6. Group accommodation3/5 Although they were aware a day ahead of time that the group would be around 10-12 people, the group was seated at 3 different locations, instead of pushing tables and chairs together to allow the group members to dine together. The restaurant is not large, but it has tables and booths as well as a bar. FOOD: 3/5 Although they have a large, (not inexpensive) drink menu-the food menu is fairly limited. Friends and I tried on separate occasions the deviled eggs, the salads, called "greens" , the salmon, and the cod with a variety of sides and sauces. The positive remarks were about the sweet potato tots (side) and BBQ ranch dressing. Other items were deemed average. I would not order the pecan chicken salad again, and I usually love chicken salad. LOCATION 3/5 It's convenient for the Watkinsville residents, but not so much for Athens and surrounding counties. My son and I stopped here for an early dinner. We had the street corn fries for an appetizer. It was wonderful! Very fresh and tasty. He ordered the pecan crusted salmon. He loved it. Especially the sauce. I had the chicken salad. It was good but I didn't care for the toasted buns. So I ate all the chicken salad and left the buns. I'd order it again, but ask for either a different bread or leave the buns untoasted. Excellent service, very clean and comfortable. read more

Very disappointing. Cute restaurant that we have heard about. Seated promptly and our server was cheerful and polite. The menu was underwhelming but offered smash burgers, salads, and entrees. The food was delivered lightning fast, but didn't even give us a chance to have more than a sip of our drinks. The salmon salad was delicious. Unfortunately my smash burger was ice cold and suited for a smaller appetite. We also had to send back an order of fries that were also cold. Based on the reaction from the server, she didn't seem surprised that we had issues with 2 of 4 meals. The service was excellent. We sat upstairs and could see the outdoor movie from our table. The place was new. Clean and popping with people on a Friday evening. The food is looks amazing on the menu! We started with 3 appetizers because we wanted to try them. 1. CRISPY DEVILED EGGS Lightly Fried topped with Candied Bacon, Tomato Vinaigrette. These were deliciously different. The breading and deep frying made the egg white a little rubbery. The candied bacon added a new flavor profile to the deviled eggs. 2. STEAMED MUSSELS Turner New Zealand Mussels served ni aSauvignon Blanc Buter Sauce, Poblano, Corn, Tomatoes, Onions with Toasted Bread. The tomatoes with the mussels made this sauce incredible! 3. FRIED GREEN TOMATOES Served with Tomato Vinaigrette, Pickled Onions, Queso Fresco. This was a little salty. Allyson ordered Blackened Salmon Salad. The salmon was good. She also enjoyed the the Asparagus from my entree and said it was excellent. I ordered *APPLE BUTTER GRASS FED RIBEYE - Turner Grass Fed Ribeye served with Smoked Gouda Mac &Cheese, Grilled Asparagus. The ribeye was delicious, the Mac and cheese was a little salty. I would have given this 4.5 stars only because some of the food was overly salty and I didn't think the deviled egg should have been deep fried. read more

We were told by two other people that they weren't happy with the food or service, but we went and tried it anyway. What a mistake. Service was terrible. The server was nice enough, but got things wrong, we had to ask several times for things and just didn't check on things. Refills, matchup, plates, etc. Food was worse. Burgers were not smash burgers, they were just over cooked regular burgers, with sad toppings. Fries were nothing the write home about either. Started off with a fish sandwich, they put the aioli on it after I asked for it on the side. Tartar sauce was not a good recipe at all. The outside of it looked over cooked and greasy, then when I broke off a small piece to try, it was raw inside. I sent it back. I won't be trying that again. We tried the peach fried pie, not worth it, terrible. If you have to go there, be careful what you order, don't order the fish or the pie. We feel it won't last with the current menu and cook or chef. We won't be back. On a side note the ambiance was nice, comfortable, and decorated well. read more

My experience at this restaurant exceeded my expectations! We had the sweet potato tots as an appetizer and the fig Pimms Cup. I got a burger with Mac and cheese and my friend got the steak - both were cooked perfectly and the sides were awesome. I was really surprised by the prices too - obviously things like the steak were higher priced but my burger was only $12 and there were several options around that price. I was also excited that the brownie we ordered was clearly home-made (and delicious). This is the perfect addition to Wire Park, I think the patio will be a great place to eat this summer too. read more

I was a member of a group of 4 who had lunch there today. It was excellent. The food was tasty and hot, and the portions are large. We started with the corn dogs (delicious) and crab fritters -- very yummy. 2 of us had fish and chips and enjoyed it very much --particularly the tempura batter. Nice and crunchy. Another member of our party had the pimento cheese ham sandwich which came topped with a fried egg. She gave it 2 thumbs up. And the other member of our group had the Bulleit Bacon chicken dish that he said was excellent. It came with macaroni and cheese which he said was also delicious. Great food. Great service. I always want to give a new business a chance to work things out. Saturday afternoon party of 5 and we were escorted upstairs to a table. Attentive staff that was quick with our requests. Fried green tomatoes, salmon, fish and fries, cod sandwich and a couple of burgers. It was our opinion that the fries were too salty AND we had to ask for pepper and a side of ketchup. We had a birthday in our group and were offered a choice of 2 desserts and a glass of champagne on the house. THAT was a nice touch. That was the best bread pudding and ice cream I have ever had. ( I would come back to this restaurant just for that dessert.) Unfortunately, there is only one public bathroom in this restaurant. That seems outrageous. We had dinner at Southern Prospect tonight and while the drinks and food were great, I am here to write about the service. We had 7 adults, 7 kids (all under 8) and our server -- Jack -- was amazing. He was patient as we figured out how to best arrange our unruly group and was pleasant throughout our meal. I am always hesitant to go out with kids, but tonight was fun and laid back. Thanks, Jack! We tried it out for a possible family outing later this month. The ambiance is good, not too loud and has outside covered seating. The service was average and our waitress friendly, most of the food arrived quickly but our dessert was very long in coming. We shared an appetizer of fried green tomatoes which were very good but there were just 3 slices. All sides (vegetables) were also quite tasty. I ordered ribeye steak cooked medium rare but there was hardly any pink/red in it and it was tough and not much flavor. My wife had the salmon and the sauce on it was very tasty but nothing really special overall. A side of gouda Mac-n-cheese was flavorful but not very warm. The place has potential but with a bill over 100$ (including tip) at this point we decided to look elsewhere for our family night out. read more

I can understand a new restaurant having small issues whet first opening, but this was more than just small issues. The service was not only slow, but we never had the same person attend our table. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. We had the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes as appetizers. Basically, we were served 2 eggs (4 halves) and the only tasty thing about them was the candied bacon. As for the fried green tomatoes, they were so bland and tasteless. When our dinners came, I think the sheer "deer in headlights" look on all the adults faces said it all. The chicken tenders were very thick breaded. They looked and tasted like something you would get at a fast food restaurant. The crinkle fries were way too salty. One family member got the fish and fries and basically it was the same scenario. The fish had a very thick greasy batter and the fries were also too salty . The conversation at the table was nothing but disappointment on the food and service . It's not a restaurant that we care to spend our money at again . If a restaurant starts off with terrible food , I'm not really sure how they will make it . I wish them nothing but the best. read more
