Renee at Southern Roots Salon. STAY AWAY. Have been seeing her since December for color and trim. My hair was shoulder length. I went in with a picture today and asked if she could do it, if she couldn't to say so. I have straight hair. Have had it short most of my life. Hands me a mirror at the end. From a distance it looks fine. Up close. OMG. I have a bald spot where she cut way too short. It's choppy and wasn't blended midway down the back of my head. I sent her the pics my husband took and she says she did a good job! NEVER have I had to go for a 2nd cut to get my hair fixed or asked for my money back, but I did with this. I've got to go get it fixed and no idea how short it'll end up. To be clear, I contacted the stylist via text with these same pictures when I got home. She did not apologize, ask if I would let her fix it or say I'm sorry. Her response was I did a good job and offered me a partial refund. The owner is concerned about her stylists and reputation of her salon but won't offer to fix it or give me a refund for a bad cut. I would let another stylist fix it, even the owner, but not the person who did this. She should be trying to redeem her salon if she's that concerned read more

She is fun, uplifting and does a great job on my hair. I have found that their prices are very reasonable and I am usually able to get an appointment within a few days. I've been going to Susie, the owner of Southern Roots, for 2 to 3 years. Susie does a great haircut and great color, however, her time management skills are nil. My appointment was delayed by 10 to 15 minutes while she decided to do an extra process on a client. She completed my cut but coloring my hair was put on pause for another 10 to 15 minutes while she went back to the first client to do some additional work. Then, I was put on pause again when she made the decision to begin a cut on her next client rather than rinsing the color out of my hair and finishing the rest of our appointment. If this had been the first time this happened, I would have gone with the flow. Unfortunately, this is a common theme. If you have all the time in the world for a hair appointment, feel free to use Susie. If you're time is valuable and you like to get in and out of a hair appointment, find another stylist. read more

Lacey saved my hair, and thus my life! I had a stylist my friend recommended come to my house and asked her to take my dark brown hair to a dirty blonde and showed her a picture of Heidi Klum for inspiration. She said no problem and foiled up my hair. When it was done and I saw lots of blonde and she left while my hair was still wet. When it dried I noticed I had a halo of coppery red coloring around the middle of my head. The top and ends were varying shades of brown, yellow and bright blonde. I asked her to come back and take a look at it to see if she could correct the coloring. She came back free of charge and foiled me up again. This time it came out brighter and worse. I had zig zag lines all around my roots, and totally unnatural orange colors all through my hair. I felt embarrassed to go outside and my hair was fried. I looked up salons in the area and based on great reviews, I went in to Southern Roots Salon to ask if they could help me. Lacey looked at my hair and asked me what the other stylist had and came up with a plan to fix it. She made time to see me the next day and I went in with high hopes. She lightened up my roots and put toner on the red areas. When she finally dried my hair I was ecstatic. It looked like a totally natural strawberry blonde and I no longer had zebra striped root lines. And it felt like real hair again. Thanks to her, I am no longer embarrassed to go outside. I have been here once a while ago. The staff were very friendly and the place is pretty classy. I brought a picture of one of Victoria Beckham's hair cuts. It was a short choppy do.. I ended up with a much shorter cut than I asked for, and it looked NOTHING like the picture! I was disappointed and didnt want to return..
