This would be her first time to a facility to groom. She was a little nervous and scared. I said it's okay, as she pushed towards the door. The woman running the grooming section scolding me and said, no you do not say it's okay, because it's not okay. Sorry to correct you but our trainers would say the same thing. I was trying to comfort a panicked puppy. I did not mean her behavior was okay, but that she would be okay. Our puppy is obviously still in training and this is not our first puppy. This was our first time ever having a dog groomed, first impressions and actions are important. I found it unprofessional and insulting the way she spoke to me. She did a nice job with the grooming, but I would not recommend this particular place to anyone with a puppy, young dog or first time grooming. I do not feel it is right to insult customers and treat them like trash the moment they walk in the door. UPDATE: As you can see from the owner's response. They obviously DO NOT care about their customers'. I did NOT react negatively, nor was I reinforcing fearful behavior. We have had many dogs and have them professionally trained. We understand the do's and don't of training dogs. As an owner of several businesses myself for over 25 years, this is not the way you treat customers. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. If it had not been for the fact that we had a scheduled appointment that was scheduled weeks out, I would have walked right out of the door. Very rude to speak to customers this way! Changing to a 1-star review after owner feedback. UPDATE: The response from the Owner is NOT anything I ever wrote. I stand by my rating. I would NOT recommend this groomer. They are terrible.

We have also gone through a training class there with Liz (highly recommend). The groomer, Amy, is fantastic and always has them smelling and looking good. If you find a lost pet, do NOT take them to Southwoods!…read more I found a sweet dog late one night and immediately grew attached. Wanting to do the right thing, I had him scanned for a microchip at the nearest vet, Southwoods. He was chipped--and that's when things took a disappointing turn. The staff at Southwoods told me they were legally required to keep him, even though I offered to foster him until the owner was located. I gave them all my contact information and asked them to pass it along to the owner. I offered to keep the dog at my home in case the owner reached out. They refused and insisted he could not be returned to me. I later discovered that Guilford County Animal Services has a Stray to Foster Program, which encourages good Samaritans to foster found pets during the stray hold period--and they even offer support and supplies. I wish I had known that beforehand. Southwoods also claimed they would take the dog to the shelter the next day if the owner didn't come, and that I could possibly adopt him from the shelter after the hold period. In reality, they took him to the shelter the same day. Based on this experience and the misinformation I was given, I would not recommend taking found animals--or even your own pets--to Southwoods. Please consider going directly to the Guilford County Animal Shelter or following their Stray to Foster guidelines if you find a lost pet.

The care my babies have received is priceless. Not literally....they've cost me tons, but the quality of care has been worth every penny. The love and compassion they showed when I had to put my first two babies down two years apart was how it should be done. Knowing that they care makes an absolutely devastating experience manageable. They're special people (and fun)! I've always enjoyed going just so I get to see and talk with them, and over the years, I've had to go A LOT. I trust them and I appreciate them more than I think they'll ever know.

She's flexible with our schedule due to kids' (4 yrs & infant) sickness & travel. We opted for an additional dogsitting/training over weekend to seal the deal. Karen asked us top 3-5 things we would like to work on with our Gizmo prior to her visit. First visit clicked right by away! We had homework and we were shocked at the changes we saw immediately as long as we did the homework as well. She alternated the trainings with my hubby & I so we both were trained as well. Leash walking, recall, follow through with basic commands (place or home until release), & no counter surfing incidents since we started with her. Highly recommend Karen & how she can caters a program to fit all your needs. Very reasonable for in home training (1 hour session) each that works vs. 10 training pkgs from other boarding places or the $2k+ for boarding/training option. It's makes a world of a difference getting your fur baby trained in his/her environment. We done daycare/ training & boarding/daycare & it didn't stick! What an amazing experience from beginning to end! Dewayne is absolutely exceptional. He's not only…read morea dog whisperer, but he's also very skilled at communicating with the owners and essentially training us on dog behavior. We did the on and off leash training and Dewayne took extra time throughout the process to ensure we were comfortable with the training tools and approach. He also added additional sessions when we felt our dog needed more time to master certain skills. Our dog is a Great Pyrenees mix and Dewayne taught us a lot about the breed, and took this intro consideration when training so the experience was tailored to our dog's needs instead of basic, boilerplate training. Dewayne is honest and upfront and has such a delightful sense of humor - we loved working with him. Training takes time and work. Dewayne gave us weekly homework assignments and was very supportive and responsive to our questions outside of class. It's such a compliment when people comment on how well behaved our dog is, and we always credit it to the training with Dewayne. We highly recommend him!

I give the doctors here a five-star rating, especially Dr. Breland and Dr Swift who did Rose's surgery? She looks amazing and she can breathe so much better and she's so happy she talks now makes little whiny noises and little barky squeaky noises. That are so cute. I can't say enough good things about the doctors here. We've been going there for 8 years now and I feel their prices are fair and they really care about your dog or cat LOL. They have some cats hanging around there
