Shrimp and Cheddar Bay Garlic Battered Gulf Shrimp Cheese Grits w/ Andouille Chicken Sausage Sauted Veggies
Taylor K.

Alright. This is it. My search is over. My wild goose chase as a transplanted southerner in Chicago trying to find grits in this Midwestern winter has come to an end. This was a new place that came up on my Uber Eats. I've had a hard time finding southern inspired food in this city full of amazing food that actually had any heart. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was an easy choice. I was so excited to even see it on a menu up here! Delivery was quick and came still warm. It came packaged neatly but in a cardboard/recycled material type container that probably isn't best for a dish with as much moisture as grits can have, and I moved the dish to a bowl. It was lined with parchment paper to keep it from seeping through which helped, but would have been better packaged in something a little sturdier. HOLY COW when I opened it though it smelled so good. It came with shrimp, andouille sausage, cheddar grits, and some peppers and onions. These are hands down the best grits I've had in Chicago and maybe the best ever (except for my dad's). This was a big portion, filling, and so flavorful. The shrimp were garlicky and delicious and I actually loved the addition of peppers and onions. I immediately recommended Southern Twang to my roommates and I can't wait to order again. Thank you for making this transplanted southerner incredibly happy.

I get to be the first review! I'm honored. This restaurant really blew my mind with the authentic taste of the south. I came into this meal with a hangover from the surprisingly easy break-up with 2020 and finished with zero hangover and a full, happy belly. The cheese grits with shrimp, andouille sausage and veggies was perfect. Literally can't stop eating it. I'm obsessed. Black eyed peas bc it's New Year's Day and this tradition I follow. Southern Twang offered me the ability to fulfill that tradition. Annie Mae's Souther Collard Greens. WHOOH! Packed with flavor and spice and everything nice. Peach. Cobbler.Eggrolls. Need I say more? Belgium waffle, well my roomate had that one. He liked it. The butter sauce it came with was a nice touch. And it looks pretty! Not pictured: Gulf Shrimp Po-Boy and Gumbo (12 oz) both were gobbled up too quick to get a pic. Do yourself a favor and give Southern Twang a try. Only thing, I would like this new company to be able to use their own delivery service because I don't want them to lose out on money and with these times we can all use some help! If you do order, use Grub Hub.

Ordered here for the first time. Everything is amazing! Look at the size of this sandwich. And I got lobster mac and cheese and gumbo, too. Will definitely order again.

It's one of those Uber eats/grub hub food pick up spots.

I got the shrimp and grits and it was wonderful! Generous portion sizes, great flavors, and the right texture/consistency for grits.

Supporting this local Chicago AAPI women owned restaurant! Love the seafood boil here! When you…read moreorder veggies they do not skimp with the boil. This is unique because I've actually have not ever had broccoli or green beans with my seafood boil and I would definitely have it again in a heartbeat. I'm in love with the garlic noodles and fries besides the main seafoods. They have so many different deals and promotions, high quality, friendly service! The spot is pretty roomy and can accommodate a variety of different size groups. I also enjoy they provide gloves, a bib, and a sink outside of the bathroom to wash your hands. Hooray for my crazy messiness! Cant wait to go back! Parking can be a challenge but is available in an around the neighborhood.

First, the service itself was good, we were seated right away with no reservations, but upon entering the restaurant has a very strong almost mildew like smell. Our server let us know right away that they were short staffed in the kitchen and therefore orders were taking 45 minutes to an hour to come out. Not a problem, we understand and ordered some apps to get us by. The food is why I'm giving it 3 starts. We ordered the calamari, which was soooo overcooked it was tough and chewy, I couldn't even swallow it. We ordered the cajun fries too and they were okay. My partner and I both ordered king crab legs with the house cajun sauce. Let me just say the sauce itself was amazing! Super delicious and tasty, not too salty, very flavorful. But both of our king crab legs were way overcooked, to the point where the meat seemed shrunk, it was very firm and rubbery/gummy. Unfortunately for paying such a high price for 1lb, this was extremely disappointing. Being that 3 seperate dishes were overcooked, I personally wouldn't return for this reason alone. Very disappointed but I feel like this issue can easily be fixed! Hoping to return one day because the flavors were definitely there, but unfortunately not anytime soon.

I was visiting from out of town and was not familiar with the parking around the area. I asked one of the staff members and immediately they reassured me that the side street would raking was totally fine to park just so long as it wasn't the front of the building where you have to pay. The food started with a complementary potato soup which was flavorful and lovely. We got a round of drinks and one of our party didn't care for her drink and it was replaced no question. We had the flat iron steak, the chicken, and the salmon and each entree was wonderful. The proteins were all very tender and juicy. I was also very pleased with the salad that came first which was lightly dressed and very seasonal. We finished our dining experience with a slice of cheesecake. It was a nice cap to the end of a wonderful meal. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion - I would love to come back and try some of the other items on their menu.

The ambiance is intimate, romantic, and just feels exclusive without trying too hard. I took my girl there for her birthday and she absolutely loved it -- which is always the real test. We had the ribeye and the Rotini Bianco, and both were excellent. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The Rotini Bianco was rich, creamy, and done just right. Every dish felt intentional and well executed. Don't hesitate to book. If you're trying to impress or celebrate something special, this is the move.

We started out w the mezze collection, we chose tzatziki, spicy whipped feta, and the skordalia w octopus, it came w 2 wood fired pitas. You guys, this mezze collection was straight fire. It was divine. It also was quite filling and we prob didn't need a whole fish after, but I was not mad about the fish bc the fish was incredible as well. We got the wild lavraki, which was explained to us as the cousin of branzino. It was deboned for us at our table and he sprinkled flaky salt, squeezed lemon, and added some delicious flavored oils on top. Prob the freshest fish I've had in the city. We also had a couple cocktails, I had a spritz that was lovely. The total bill was a bit shocking, cant lie, but I also believe it was worth it for the quality of service and food that we received. I ordered the Georgie's gyro, and it was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the "few fries" that normally come with it due to my shellfish allergy, and I wasn't offered a replacement option. Since the entrées are a bit on the pricier side, I would have appreciated having a substitute or a more substantial side included. The quality of the gyro itself was good, though, and the ambiance was a highlight. I loved that you could see the wood-fired oven from the dining area -- it added a nice touch to the experience. They also have a great variety of drink options, making it a nice spot for a meal and drinks.

Wow! We stumbled across Lloyd's Upscale Street Food on the DoorDash app. Only found a few reviews…read morefor them on Google but all were positive, and the menu sounded too tasty to pass on. We ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Garlic Butter Lemon Pepper Wings (comes with fries) to share between 2 people. The food arrived hot and well-packaged, to my personal relief because I didn't want soggy wings - the risks of food delivery, right? Kudos to our courier! The wings were wonderfully, perfectly cooked, moist and so flavorful with a slight tart kick from the lemon pepper, and a nice crispy outside. The breading was the right amount, too. I admittedly don't normally care for chicken wings but I am a fan of Lloyd's! Lobster Mac was outstanding- pasta is nicely al dente (we were both fans of the texture), well-seasoned, not over-salted, and was cheesy and creamy throughout. What a pleasant find today! Will definitely order from again, can't wait to try more items off their menu. Thank you, Lloyd's Upscale Street Food!

Nonetheless I'll started from bad & work my way up. The jerk chicken birria tacos were dry & had no flavor. Not even the accompanying dipping sauce could help. The fries that were underneath the chicken were seasoned well. Lastly the lobster ravioli was extremely creamy & rich. I'm nit sure the lobster was cooked well enough however it could a close 2nd to the best thing on the menu which in my opinion is the chickens wings.
