Our contractor used them for our kitchen remodel in 2024. All we had to do back then was pick windows and approve pricing. Their installation team was great- though our contractor took care of it all - so we called them in 2026 to replace more windows. This time they were sounded a bit scattered on the phone, sent the wrong crew out to quote for work, then never got back to us. So- communication and organization aspects seem dicey enough that we will move on to get quotes elsewhere. read more

I'm absolutely tired of the management within this company. My eldest brother previously worked at their warehouse location in south Sacramento. During his time here he received terrible care, consistent harassment from his manager Mario Sanzes. He would come home nearly ready to pass out from being ill and or suffering major injuries including a sliced artery that he couldn't call out for because MARIO called him a BITCH and stated for him not to report it to management ???? My brother has experienced this manager standing outside the bathroom while he was fighting heat exhaustion just for him to be called "fucking worthless," and a "piece of shit." I would like to note that my brother was warned to not work under this manager for everyone has quit this position and moved away from his department for the same reason. Could you imagine waking up at 5am just to drive about an hour out and work 8 hours full of harassment? This manager sits around and commands all his employees to overload their plates because he doesn't want to help perform his duties. My brother struggled for 2 months asking Mario for help on securing glass and double checking to make sure safety precautions were aligned. To no surprise Mario called him a worthless bitch and refused to help. my brother quit due to almost falling off the forklift operated by Mario. This manager was incapable of driving and continuously shook the vehicle labeling him a "bitch." My family and friends have been receiving services from here for a while all while recommending this company to others. That ends here until the owner of the company, OSHA, and or possibly HR do something about this. Let's also include that reports have been made to HR continuously over the years by other employees and yet this manager is still here. Southgate Glass you need to do better. How is it that over 25+ employees have the same feeling about one employee and he's still being paid a pretty penny? read more

Southgate Glass did an amazing job making custom solar window screens for the Firefighter Burn Institute's historic firehouse, which is almost 100 years old. The majority of our windows are original to the firehouse and swing outwards to open. Oscar did a great job customizing the screens allowing us to access the handles and open the windows. In the past, when you came around a particular corner into the southwestern part of the building, you were hit with a noticeable increase in temperature. Not any more!! Very disappointed with my experience. I called Southgate Glass to get an estimate for my broken window. I was asked about the window measurements during our phone conversation, and the representative I spoke to seemed to already know what to do for my cracked glass without seeing it in person even though I tried to explain my circumstances. They did schedule a tech to arrive at my home to perform more accurate measurements on my kitchen window. Apparently he didn't seem to notice that my window requires a more complicated replacement. I just assumed that he was the expert and he knew what was needed. I guess I didn't realize that I had to point out to him that it needs to be retrofitted. That my kitchen counter is higher than the track and both panes need a total replacement. An estimate came to me via email, and I was happy with the quote. I approved the order and paid the 10% deposit. Then the day arrived for the installment process, only to discover that my window would require a lot more effort to replace! The technician told me that my window would cost double the amount quoted and he would not be able to do this kind of job! I ended up having to call them a few weeks later to request my deposit back! I never got information about an updated estimate, but only given a "sorry we couldn't help you attitude!" And to add insult to injury, I'm still getting the run around about getting my deposit back after calling them twice so far! I was recommended by my boyfriend Joe K, to call Southgate Glass initially just before he recently passed away, even though he himself gave them a negative review several years ago! I had a sliding door installed in 2018. Over the weekend, the locking mechanism in the door handle broke in the locked position, so I cannot open the slider. There is no way to access the screws that attach the handle without removing the framing around the door, so I cannot remove the handle and at least unlock the door. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called for service, I was offered an appointment two weeks out and was told that they may not even be able to fix it on the day that they come out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not having access to this door is a major safety hazard. Either the install was incorrect or they are installing poorly designed equipment. Either way, I'll go with someone else next time. read more

I hired this company a year ago to replace the glass in most of my windows. The cost was reasonable, ordering & installation process was pretty easy and smooth. But the last 6 mths I've been trying to get a new quote for a couple windows I didn't do at the time AND have a couple they installed looked at. One window won't stay open anymore because some piece in the frame is now broken. And another new window already has moisture build up in it. The bid was competitive and reasonable for current rates. The project started on time and was completed in 4 days for 25 windows. Extremely disappointed. We have used this company multiple times but this will be my last time. They came out to measure and replace broken seals and rollers 3 times and I still have one window that was never fixed. They sold us windows and I asked that they match the other windows they do not. I have called and spoke to multiple managers who sends their repair division out to fix the problem but it is never been completely done. I bought a 2 new windows and an accordion window door as well. I asked that the windows match my other windows. The color matches that's it. When I complained to the salesman Bryan Simas, he told me his hands are tied he turned over my complaint to his manager. I never received a call. Their repair staff went as far to tell me I should replace all my windows that their repairs only last a year! So disappointed. Bad customer service, horrible communication and I still have windows that need to be repaired. read more

The customer service I received from Milton and staff has been beyond incredible. I have extreme hard-water stains on my shower doors. They recommended Bio-Clean to remove the stains. They even took my shower door, prior to purchase, and cleaned a spot. Incredible results. Unfortunately, despite trying a buffer and a drill attachment, I was unable to duplicate the results they were able to achieve at home. I am thinking they are too stained to be clean again. Removing the doors and going back to curtains. However, any glass needs in the future. I will use Southgate. read more

Unprofessional, poor quality work, appalling attention to detail, abysmal communication, reckless demolition, and flaunted lead safe protocols in our old home even though we have a baby and they advertise themselves as an EPA RRP certified contractor... bottom line is they could care less about your time, your property, your safety or the safety of your children. This is not just unprofessional installers, the incompetence and apathy goes to the top. Management inadequately or just doesn't responds when there are problems, has minimal initiative and accountability when they mess up, and fails to follow through on a contract. After nearly a year from the initial demolition and install they're finally trying to wrap up the project because the permit is about to expire. Hiring Southgate is one of my biggest regrets. Response to Melissa: southgate did not go to great lengths. I went to great lengths to fix your company's mistakes. I had to find a hotel. I had to clean up the lead contamination inside the house and find the contractor to test and the contractor to clean up outside. I had to leave my house to stay with friends and family, and then a hotel for weeks so that my 6 month old daughter wasn't exposed to lead contamination. I had to pay over $1k out of pocket for the hotel and cleaning supplies before you reimbursed me. And the photos I posted were taken after they finished. I posted another photo I took just now of damaged trim. It's the same piece in pic 5. If you went to great lengths, then why did you pay me to fix the damaged trim and clean up the lead paint in the house? It obviously wasn't an uncommon circumstance either. Only after what happened at our house you do you now supposedly follow RRP as required by the law (according to what the lead testing company you hired told me when I hired them to come out again for another job). When I was fed up with the project manager dragging his feet and ignoring us after 8 months waiting for the job to be finished, I called to speak to the GM and was transferred instead to the same project manager that I specifically asked not to speak to. That's why I repeat, the apathy and incompetence goes all the way to the top. read more

Had a garage door window panel break recently during some work which was being done at my house. Like any amateur I took the broke glass to Home Depot. One of the guys told me you could go to a glass shop in town, buy our glass which can be cut, or go to the cheapest place in the area. Not knowing how much glass really cost I went with the latter and ended up here. The area the shop is located isn't the best BUT the service and price was worth it. I was in and out within 15 minutes and did not feel ripped off by any means. My glass cost a little more than the uncut glass that Home Depot had in stock but fit perfectly upon installation. Hopefully no more rocks go flying through my windows but if they do I will likely return here. read more
