I think we've used Dick's Rancho Glass for at least 40 years! The general contracting construction company I worked with starting in 1989 have been using their services to fix broken windows, screens, and repair windows and rolling closet doors. For about 10 years, we have used them to install Shower Doors. Most recently, Ian and Gerardo came out to replace several failed windows at my own home. They replaced the glass, some screens, and a couple of window balancers. Boy with a difference it makes to have windows that work correctly! Ian and Gerardo were very respectful of our furnishings and our Floor Coverings all while trying to work around three busy toddlers I definitely won't hesitate to give them a call for any future issues I have. read more

My kitchen window began cracking and started fogging up a few years ago, which became progressively worse. Never did I think that trying to get a reputable window company to recognize what needs to be done, turn into a hard thing to come by! We tried to have 3 other companies come out to measure and give an estimate. Each time, I get an acceptable bid, only to result that when they returned to install, they didn't take into consideration that the whole window needed to be retrofitted, not just replacing the window pane! Finally, I was referred to Dick's Rancho Glass! They were completely knowledgeable and professional from beginning to end! Ashley was very helpful on the phone and via email communication. When the estimator and installer came to my house, he noticed that my particular window was built below my kitchen counter top. The window track was too low to allow a simple replacement of the glass. He understood that the whole window had to be completely changed and made a bit smaller and higher above the counter. Hence, "retrofitted". When the day arrived for the installation process, the two man team immediately got started. I felt very comfortable that they knew their craft. Even when I said I was a little nervous about having the work done, one of the guys joked, "we're nervous too! We haven't done this kind of window before! I hope it doesn't leak!" Ha! Ha! After a few hours, they finished with an amazingly clean job! My bright and shiny new window looked perfect in the kitchen! I couldn't be happier! I didn't realize how much I was missing out watching mother nature in action in my own backyard! Later, I found out that my mom and dad had them replace their living room window many years ago when someone attempted to break in! I needed a shower enclosure installed where a wall which one panel was to be up against had a bow that was not apparent to the naked eye. One glass company declined to do the work, but Dick's saved the day. Iian and his helpers measured once and measured twice and eventually had the panel of glass cut to perfectly nest agains the wall. Definitely a solid 4 I had them replace a broken window. Everything went well just as expected. I just wish they would have told me or asked me about the rubber seal. The seal is very old and although it was reusable, it's falling apart. If I had known, I would have purchased new seals and would not have had them put the old seals back. Excellent service. I called to schedule an appointment for shower door hinge replacements. My clients bought a home recently, and the sellers broke the hinges of the shower door on moving day - my luck. I called around trying to find out which type of hinges they were, and I finally got in touch with Dick's Rancho Glass. The lady on the phone allowed me to text some photos of the current hinges, and she instantly knew what type they were. They gave me a window between 1-4pm, and she said they would call me when they were on their way. Sure enough, I got a call and they were right on time and got there around 1pm. The gentlemen took a look at the door, and were finished within 15 minutes. It was a little on the pricier side to replace ($300), but at least I have the peace-of-mind in knowing who to call for broken shower hinges in that neighborhood, and the familiarity of the job. read more

We have a 30 year old front window that had developed a crack in one of the side sliders. A contractor came out to look at it and said I could either replace the entire window or take the cracked slider to Dick's Rancho Glass. As it was the cheaper option, I took it to Dick's. When the window was originally installed, it was state-of-the-art. Which means that better products have been introduced since then. The person who helped me at Dick's pointed out the best replacement for the old glass . She even tried to match the tinting. The glass had to be ordered with a target delivery date of five days. Exactly five days later, they called me that it was in. The next day, I went in and they installed the new glass in under an hour. Side note: Dick's Rancho Glass may not be the cheapest vendor out there, but you get what you pay for. They didn't try to talk me into replacing the entire window and they gave me less expensive options. I appreciate being treated as a potential return customer and not just someone to get out of their business. read more

When I reported it, one of their employees Bill promised me a no cost replacement. We replaced all of our windows in 2020. Roughly half were installed by another Sacramento window company and half by Dick's Rancho Glass. Prices were roughly the same, but Dick's was the clear winner for a couple of reasons. First, the installer himself (Casey) and his assistant A.J. - not a salesman - came out to measure the windows. They were friendly and knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions with no sales pressure. Their measurements were precise, and on installation day they removed the interior wood trim from our old 1941 windows, cleaned it up on site, and replaced it after installation, rather than trimming the new windows with thin plastic strips as the other company did.
