Weather report stated excessive heat warnings and triple-digit temperatures. What was even more sad was there didn't seem to be a back-up plan in place. C'mon, you had to have known and/or checked the weather forecast that there was going to be extremely, sever hot weather... Or, here's a future suggestion , I am pretty sure maybe the PTA had funds or the school could have used emergency funds to purchase canopies and have provided water at least to the graduating students. OR..., An all out emergency text could have been sent to all parents stating "Bring your own canopy, water and/or ice etc. Some consideration for older people and younger children regarding this heat should have been taken. This is horrible!! Worst graduation experience EVER!! Many didn't even enjoy the ceremony because everyone all around were continuously complaining about the poor planning by the school. Attended a student talent show yesterday and really enjoyed this event. You could tell the students were gifted and talented, with classical piano playing, in key singing, comedy stand up and more. It was a very warm day as well and the auditorium wasn't cool at all so maybe the AC wasn't working great. Or it could also be that the auditorium was full with family and friends. But, the grounds were extremely clean and the restrooms were well kept for the students. The school staff seemed friendly and professional. Seems to be in a safe community as well.

We decided to give one more look at Catholic Schools in our area to see if there were any schools that had a tuition we could afford. We stumbled upon Holy Cross Academy. We called and made an appointment to meet with the principal Mrs. MacDonald. Mrs. MacDonald is amazing! She took the time to show us around the school, and tell us all about the educational and religious formations at Holy Cross. She made a huge impact on our decision to submit an application and sending the kids to Holy Cross. After sending our oldest son to Holy Cross for one year, we knew this was the school we wanted all of your kids to attend. Holy Cross has an AMAZING staff. They are all caring and really put the kids first. Our 2 oldest now attend (TK & K) and the baby will go when he gets school age. This school is all about community. Their student learning expectations: Lead, Love, Learn and Make a Difference are infectious - you as a parent want to get involved in making the school and even more positive environment.
