Worked with Ralph in the Bike Shop. Great guy, very helpful and friendly. Needed a replacement bolt and pedal arm for 2 month old Huffy bike. Every place I called told me they wouldn't work on, nor deal with cheap bikes. $175 isn't that cheap! Anyway, Ralph not only checked it out and made sure everything was working properly, but had the bolt and new pedal arm (both from stock) installed and I was on my way in 10 minutes. read more

Honestly, this place is so odd! We have been in there 4 times and there is one young man nice and the rest are rude and ugly. I have bought 5 bikes last two years and one scooter and would never buy here! Then decided to try again and took bike in a week ago for minor repair and said we could pick up a week later. This is long time for simple repair and we call and hadn't started so we picked up and took to Zion cyclery! What a joke - turns out have to leave Kenosha! read more

Happy to be review #9. Walked in with my bike after a blowout and some crazy clicking happening. They took me in with no wait and Brad fixed the tire, then took the bike for a spin to diagnose the problem. Took him a few trips but finally boiled it down to the bottom bracket. He fixed it up, lubed the chain and I was on my way. The kicker is it was $31. I've been to their competitor downtown and I've paid triple the price for half the service. I can't recommend these guys more. read more

What a great shop! Simon took great care of us! My youngest got trucks, bearings and wheels for his first deck. Helpful and friendly, we definitely enjoyed this place. They even took the time to help my son get his first board all put together, taking care to explain along the way so my 10 yo can start learning to do it himself :) I love local shops like Southport! read more

Amazing service answered all our questions making sure we got the right bike and then they went above and beyond staying late on a Saturday evening to make my sons new bike was just the way he wanted it. He was able to provide his services without me having to bring the bike back. He was also kind enough to take my bike out of the trunk and return it after he was done. They're not exactly the best. Always willing to help out, but their knowledge of racing/touring is low. My friend bough some shoes from them and they didn't know how to clip-in to the pedal. They had to call their boss over to explain. Not too bad in price. But online is cheaper. So, when I told them I bought my clip-in pedals on Amazon, one of the employees made a snide remark, 'If you keep ordering online, you won't have a place to try on shoes.' Ironically, they didn't have any shoes in my size. I went to Racine Cyclery and bought the least expensive pair. $20 dollars more expensive, but at least they were in stock. Overall, 'eh.' Racine Cyclery is snobbier and more expensive, but at least they know their way around a road bike. And I've never had a snide remark from RC. read more

I was in the Kenosha area for the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon. As my friend and I unloaded our bikes from the trunk, we realized that my front tire had been unceremoniously left on a Chicago street. Whoops. Southport Rigging was doing bike inspections for the triathletes. I went up to their tent (that they were closing down, by the way) and pleaded my pathetic case. They said the shop was closed. However, one of the guys said he would go back and open it up and have a bike wheel for me at 4:30 AM the next morning. And he did. I couldn't believe it. He kinda made me fall in love with him. Just a little bit. read more

First time I went to get my bike tuned after having it hang in my garage unused for a long time. I got prices and we spoke clearly about what would be done. When i picked the bike up it was 100.00 dollars over the pre paid aount and they never called to have me approve the extra fees. then the chain they replaced broke after riding the bike for less than 50 miles. I brought the bike back and they replaced the chain for free, but when I got it home the bike would not go into 10 th gear. Aperently they never tested the bike after they put in the chain. when I brought it back they said they would not be able to get at right away. I did not like the fact that they did not test the work they did before giving the bike back to me. I did not like the fact that they went over the original work order by a bit more than 100 dollars and never called to have me approve the extra cost. I did not like the snotty mouth on the mechanic at the shop. although I may have gotten the rest of the work done at no charge , I decided I would rather pay the shop downtown an addiitional 50 dollars to make the bike right, because I will not tollearate a snot mouth on someone I am giving my money to! read more

I purchased a new Trek mountain bike from The bike shop and within a month the front forks broke throwing me over the handlebars.
