The barber cut most of my hair off leaving me close to a buzz cut, left my back side long and front side long as if I asked for a mullet... he also must have misheard my request to line up my beard since he trimmed it so low and uneven I had to come home and shave the whole thing. Word to the wise. Heed the warnings of prior victims of bad haircuts. I didn't and paid the price. So, I went in with 5 weeks of growth that just needed a fade on the sides and a slight trim on top to blend in while keeping some of the length. I was extremely specific on what I wanted and even showed a picture of a past haircut. The barber who was cutting my hair botched it badly. I come to find out he has no license and was never properly trained. WTF!! My hair was butchered so bad that another barber had to step in and attempt to fix it and I basically walked out with a crewcut as there was nothing else that could be done to salvage the haircut. I didn't get charged for such a f#%k up but that doesn't even begin to make up for it. I am one pissed off mofo. Heed the warnings...I am not the only one who as done so. This place is everything you'd expect from a barber shop in Miami. You walk in to a room of Latino guys covered in tattoos, mostly with dope haircuts. It's a little unorganized, and they kind of just place you at the back of a mental queue if you walk in without an appointment. But as long as that doesn't bother you, it's a really good place. The barbers are friendly and gave me a great cut. I'd recommend paying in cash, because there's a $2-3 credit card fee. read more

After two visits to this shop, I conclude that they're unprofessional and not worthy of the business. The first time I went, the barber needed help from the other barber Mike because he didn't know how to do the haircut. I can appreciate asking for help instead of f'ing up my hair but it was an extremely basic cut and it took him two hours. All the other barbers had already done 3 customers w more complex cuts by the time mine was done w me. I'm not going to sh*t on the cut... it was fine but the amount of time it took was crazy. My second experience, I decided to avoid the guy that was still learning and made an appointment with Mike TWO WEEKS in advanced for today (4/25). I confirmed with him the week before to be sure as well. I showed up at the shop this morning and nobody was there. He wasn't late.... He simply didn't attempt to make the appointment. I called him and he sent me to voicemail. Ten minutes later he texts me saying he just realized the time and he wouldn't be there nor would anybody else be and wanted to reschedule. It was 9:15 and the shop was supposed to open at 9. I asked him what time he would be there then because I had a flight to catch.... he ghosted after that. Not even the decency to respond to the customer you just left hanging. Time is precious and it's clear that they don't value yours at Southside. When you're paying $30+ to get your haircut and still expected to give a tip, your barbers should. read more

Never had a bad cut at this barbershop. I was in desperate need of finding someone to cut my hair since the guy I usually go to was horrible to get in contact with. After saying f*** it, I decided to go to this barbershop which is conveniently located right next to my apartment. I honestly like it for what it is. Right when you walk in, it's just a bunch of people getting cuts with barbers in a close-knit vibe. Some of them act a bit ghetto but honestly that shouldn't bother anyone because usually they know how to cut hair really well. Got my hair cut multiple times here. Just keep in mind there is no cashier, so you have to pay every cut through your phone in the form of cashapp or Zelle. There is an ATM I just don't know how much it charges for transaction fees. Honestly this place is great because it's walking distance to my apartment. I would usually make an appointment beforehand with the barber and show up on time, get my cut and leave. Some people argue with the pricing but in all honesty this ain't Hair Cuttery. Times are changing so get used to it or find some place else. This place is awesome. I walked in the other day, expecting a traditional barber shop. As I sat down, I didn't have an appointment but they asked if one of the people could take me, and said I'd just have to wait a few minutes. I didn't even wait 3 minutes. When you walk in, it's like no other barber shop. The barbers there all have Tatts and there's amazing artwork, much of it is from local artists that has a very authentic street flare. However even if you don't like that style or art, they are the most friendly and competent guys you'll find. Seriously. My barber was Honduran, he lived here three years. Despite not being here long, he spoke great English. Fortunately I speak "Cuban" and it was a great opportunity to interact. His English was much better than my Spanish and he couldn't have been any more friendly. But the attention to detail is what matters. I've never had a more attentive barber. I mean, there was no detail too small. He was a perfectionist and they all were. Just look at the results of anyone that goes in there. And normally, if someone gave you have that level of service, it'd take forever. My whole haircut took about 15 minutes. This place is just amazing. If you have a chance, stop by and just enjoy the atmosphere , it's laid back, friendly, comfortable and very cool. They are okay barbers but terrible at people skills or anything related to successful business practices. For example, I asked Lito (Barber) Saturday morning when he'd be in for me to get a hair cut and he said he'd be arriving at 3pm. I went to the barbershop at 11am and he was there cutting hair... Second bad experience is with Manny (another barber there) where I call/text to make an appointment and no response. I don't know about you but time for me is very valuable and I don't have enough for all this back and forth and for barbers to only get back when it's convenient. While I'm here, let's not forget the fact that my haircuts take twice as long because they ALL stop throughout the hair cut to text, take calls and just do a bunch or random things that draw out the process and make it take an exorbitant amount of time to get a mediocre cut. To have them as a plan B or C and get a haircut every once in a while at SouthSide barbershop is not a problem. But if you make this your regular spot, be prepared to deal with an amateur level of customer service and silly sh!t on the regular. Bravo boys. Keep up the good work. read more

Danny cut my hair and he was fast and the conversation was great. The wife loves the haircut too so it works in their favor. The only downside to the whole shop is the window tint is so dark I circled the block twice trying to see if they were open, no easy feat off 27th and 1. Excellent barber shop with skilled barbers. Its not your standard friendly barbershop. I waited for about 10 minutes without a greeting, but that didnt really bother me. They were having fun, busy cutting hair, watching basketball games, and discussing sports. All i care about is that they cut my hair exactly how i wanted it, and moved people in and out and a timely manner. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and you can watch whatever that days sporting events are and enjoy a coke (they arent free). They take credit cards but have a transaction fee.
