Had some time to kill in Knoxville. Scootered from the hotel around town, headed across the river and hit Southside Garage. They have a collaboration with Dia De Good truck which was serving some bomb Birria tacos. For a California guy to give props on a TN taco is pretty hard but well done. We love these guys in the Dia De food truck! So honest and accommodating and the food is damn tasty. Love the Sunday brunch options and daily specials - get there early; they will sell out. I get the shrimp rice burrito as a bowl (makes or GF) and I enjoy the chicken tinga tostadas (they have a touch of flour) but some nights I can only eat half- you get plenty! First time here. Staff was on the cool side. Very good selection of beers. Both my wife and I found something we liked. What sets them apart from many other brew houses is that they offer full liquor (and cocktail) service. The place is very clean and very spacious. Plenty of shaded and unshaded spots, as well as indoor and outdoor. We both had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich from Oakwood BBQ food truck. Neither of us cared for the sandwich for the same reason...to much fat in the meat that needed to be separated. I might return, but with a pizza from South Coast across the street. read more

I'm giving south side 3 starts because i felt like the staff was not very warm or welcoming. I don't even think they said hello to us when we came inside. They did have some good beer on tap, but you would think that for a night as slow as it was you would be more friendly to your patrons. Yelp needs to have half stars and not just whole stars, lol. I want to rate this joint 4.5 bro! Not just a 4! Great small open door joint, good vibes, and good food. Each day they have one or two different food trucks assembled there.... place is small. The garage part is open to sit and enjoy beer on tap and watch a game on the TV. They have a gelato shop next door... and a backyard area with picnic area tables and corn hole. We tried some burgers and they were phenomenal, only bad part was their was some flys hanging around due to the yummy smells and heat from being seated in an open door area. It's a food truck park...I don't really know how to review a place that has different food options each day, but we've been happy with the selections when we've gone! They have a bar with lots of craft beer options, if you're into that, and a permanent gelato brothers location, so that's consistent as well. It's open air, but there are several tables in the covered garage area if the weather is less than perfect. My only complaints are- it would be nice if there was a little more parking, and if there were 1 or 2 more spots for food trucks (usually there are 2-3 when they're open), but both of these are limited by real estate, so I can't really fault them. It's certainly more convenient to where I live than the other similar Knoxville locations, and is very family friendly, even in the evenings when more people are there drinking. I really enjoyed this place! It reminds me of a few places that I went to where I'm from so I felt right at home. They have food trucks all day and beer. What more could you ask for? I went when the weather was really nice and all the garage doors were open and it felt great. The staff was really nice and helpful as well as the food truck staff. This place is great and I recommend it to anyone looking for a pretty chill atmosphere to just hang out and enjoy drinks with friends outside! read more
