Oh Stony Point, how far you've fallen…read more I don't know if it's COVID or what has brought about the mass exodus from this outdoor shopping center but it's a shell of what it used to be. 10 years or so ago - I was so impressed with all the stores here. Some of them the only high end ones until you get to DC. Tiffany's, Restoration Hardware, Anthropologie, Sur la Table, body stores, Bebe, Saks 5th Ave and tons more. Tiffany's and RH remain. As well as Saks and a few others holding on like Pandora and Brighton, but that's it. A vast majority of the shops have closed as well as the restaurants. I remember when this was a bustling shopping center with children playing in the main area and people walking their pets. It was a ghost town today. I hope it can be revived.

I even remember going to the movies at the Willow Lawn Cinema! Man I'm old! Through all of its growing pains, face lifts and renovations, I have continued my support of this centrally located shopping center. Some restaurants have come and gone, but there's always a good selection of eateries. I'm a regular at Ross, Old Navy and DSW. I'm hoping there will be an influx of business with the new Dick's Sporting Goods store here! I love the Five Guys, Noodles, Tropical Smoothie, Panera and Chick-fil-A. This A.C. Moore doesn't have as much as some of the other shops, but I patronize it in a pinch. Alpha Comics is here and I love browsing in that store and it's right across from Ducks Donuts! The Kroger is always packed, I avoid it. It's nice that they've added a play area and a picnic spot too! The parking configuration is a bit confusing sometimes, but it's not hateful. This mall is one structure that seems to always reinvent itself! Overall, I'm glad this RVA classic mall has survived thru the decades! Keep on truckin' Willow Lawn! Yep, I said it!

There's also a Five Guys, a liquor store, Starbucks, Panera, and Noodles & Co if you're hungry or thirsty. It's your typical strip mall, with smaller stores in an outdoor setting. I do think it's headed in a much more positive direction as a result of the building renovations, so my fingers are crossed that they're able to pull in more anchor stores to make this a more popular shopping destination. Parking is never a problem, and the holiday decorations get two thumbs up from this girl! And did I mention the Staples is great? Because it is.

In open spaces they had lots of kids activity and relaxing spots. Whole area was kept clean and constantly monitored, excellent service all around. There were several escalators, elevators and restrooms throughout the shopping center. Plenty of parking spots were available all around, pavements could use some improvement. As we walked around for a bit, I found many of my favorite stores like Lululemon, Dick's, Lego, H&M and an Apple Store too. It was a good mix of popular and expensive brands. They had Macy's and Dillard's departmental stores. Several of the restaurants included CFK, Chick fil a, Chipotle, The Cheesecake Factory, Texas De Brazil, Magliano's and lots more. Initially we went just to just visit Cold Stone, but we ended up spending couple of hours at this shopping center. I also found the rare Capital One cafe. We spent time shopping in Dick's as well. We settled on the Bourbon chicken, orange chicken, and General Tao's chicken with lo mein. They had a Bourbon chicken daily special with veggies for under $8.50. We got the three entree special for under $12. The chicken dishes were each really good and fresh with each having their distinct flavor profile. All in all, really good "mall" Chinese food that I would come back to when in the area.

It appears the clothing stores around here seem like they're completely missing the demographics of local neighborHOODs like of Seven Gables, St Paul's area and Varina. Doesn't seem like much is here for guys.. at all. Either way it doesn't matter it's usually dead here except for the restaurants like Olive Garden, Chik Fil A and Red Lobsters. What is strange is that everything here ..and near here seems to be a mini version of their West End counterparts. The Best Buy across the street, The Red Lobster.. all are noticbly smaller. There is a roundabout for some odd reason, and 70% of the area is empty parking lot. You'll ask yourself "wow do people around here know how to drive?!" the answer is likely no since two high schools are about 15 minutes away and the international airport is also close by..plus it's still new so you're getting a mix of newbies on the road dealing with a roundabout. Long story short I would not be surprised to see this place go the way of this area's last mall, Eastgate aka Fairfield Commons that's only 5 or so minutes down the street. People here are very rude except for Chikfila or whatever. I will never go to the GameStop here again, it' was my first time experiencing a ghetto GameStop. The employees wear urban clothes, du rags howeer you spell it.. kids are always in here and it's the size of a closet with maybe 2 bins of used games that are still fairly new and from this gen. Short Pump is still the best shopping center.

Wow what a mistake it was coming to this mall. I was barely in the door when the security guard…read moreyelled at me that I'm not allowed inside because my service dog doesn't have what he called a "service dog tag," whatever that is and showed me some sign hanging in between the doors which had nothing written about a "tag for a service dog." I told him this and my right to have a service dog who I need to take with me to places like this. He proceeded to say that he was going to call the cops, for what law was I breaking? Please show me the law that says I cannot take my service dog into an establishment?! No I will not be discriminated against like that. I have left a message for the general manager to call me back. This is ridiculous and the mall had a bunch of closed stores and nobody in there anyways. Good luck.
