Clearly you must fit the punk look to get quality service here. After reading many great reviews, I was very excited to stop in and get a very simple tattoo I've been wanting for about a year. They did not ask me how I thought the stencil looked and after applying it to my arm, he immediately started tattooing. After he finished tattooing, he did not ask me what I thought of it, just bandaged it up with a piece of paper towel and tape. I am deeply upset over how my tattoo looks and I wish I had been able to say something and have him change it. Since I live out of the area, I now must pay someone else to fix his sloppy work. Attached are the pictures of what it was supposed to look like, versus what I received. As you can see, it looks nothing like the photo, poorly done and sloppily executed. I'm honestly so embarrassed of it I've kept it hidden since I got it. Be warned. read more

I love this place! The piercer there is AMAZING. She does great work and at super low prices. I'm so sad that I moved away and can't get new piercings done by her :( I never got a tattoo by Steve, but I did get one done by Kay ( I think that is her name) and she did the most beautiful work. I get non-stop compliments on the flower she did behind my ear. It's so realistic looking, and she really listened to me when I told her what I wanted. She has done a lot of my friends tattoos and they all were amazing. I really reccomend her. read more

I've now been to Southside Tattoo twice and both were great experiences. I was referred to Kay from a friend and she did my foot tattoo last year. It was easy to get in and her laid back confidence put this first timer at ease :) This year I wanted to get in super fast and Kay was booked so I scheduled with Max. He did my wrist tattoo and was so fun. He really enjoys his work. I gave him my ideas and some pics and he interpreted them perfectly and I couldn't be happier. I've been coming here ever since I turned 18 (and now I'm 21) and I absolutely love everything about this place - the environment, the artists, the talent, and the friendliness. I am a client of Steve's and he is one of the most talented human beings I have ever met. He's very kind and hilarious, and he takes his work seriously. He is honestly one of my favorite human beings. My favorites are my thigh tattoos - I gave him ideas and he ran with them. One is a rockabilly belle from beauty and the beast, and the other is a zombie vampire. The attention to detail he gives is outstanding; you can literally see veins in the zombie girl, making her more realistic. I recommend this place 100%. It's the only tattoo parlor I have gone to that feels like home. Max and Kay are also very talented and kind people. All three of them have so much talent. read more
