I've had six dates of service in the last year with excellent clinicians. However the billing has been the worst I've ever dealt with. They do not submit claims correctly. They say my insurance denied the claim when there is no proof my insurance got it. They sent me to collections and argued with me. Bad experience with myself and other family members. Intermountain Health took the word CARE out of their name and their patient visits, and their doctors are more interested in hurry up visits with minimal diagnostics than actually figuring out what to do. I have to tell the doctors what to do, insist on tests, insist on a treatment plan which they often don't have, and my husband is now dead from cardiac arrest and I now have 3rd stage heart failure all while they said we were just fine. But I have since insisted on them ordering tests for myself and found out what was wrong with me. The doctors had no idea what to do for heart failure, or my arrythmia, or my slow heart rate., and this is supposed to be their specialty. They also have a lady call with test results who knows nothing, so we have had to play the give the doctor a message game or wait for months for another appointment to find out how to care for ourselves. I will never go back there and actually moved up north hoping to get better medical advice. Unfortunately the IH doctors in northern Utah are just as clueless and have the same avoidance system. When your business model of pushing through as many patients as possible is more important than taking the time and doing the testing to keep patients safe, this is what you get. When a system makes more money if someone has a catastrophic event like a heart attack and needs extreme care and surgery, there is no incentive for preventive medicine. I have had more than the usual ration of operations over the decades and met and was cared for by dozens of doctors. They were all great doctors, but my recent ablation procedure allowed me to work with what I consider to be the best of the best - Dr Jeoffrey Orme. The first time I met with Dr Orme he was thorough in his explanation of the issue; addressed what options were available and the outcome of each. He didn't rush, he listened to my questions and answered them all in sufficient detail. He was respectful of what I needed and all my other challenges. Listening to him I was more than confident that I had the best doctor. He was empathetic and understood what I have been going through. Dr. Orme called me numerous times leading up the surgery to check in on me. He never rushed the calls and they were happening in his evening which is above and beyond what anyone should expect. I can say without any hesitation that Dr Orme is the Doctor I would want operating on my children. He is truly a brilliant, personable, thorough, and empathetic doctor. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. I was visiting with someone else at the time. The appointment she had was in the morning and she was seen shortly after she was scheduled. The nurse was extremely professional and very understanding. Her friendliness really helped the patient relax. Dr. Otto was very professional and a straight shooter. It's obvious she is well respected in her field. Options were discussed and she listened to her patient. The doctor had wanted a test run and knowing we were from out of town, she helped to arrange the test for later on that morning. She also stayed later in the day for a follow-up to discuss the results and the plan moving forward. During the afternoon visit, Dr. Otto was noticeably ready for the day to end. I imagine going room to room all day long is pretty tiring. But she still remained professional. In conclusion, the hospital and staff were outstanding. I have had several tests for afib it has been over two weeks and no call from anyone about the results. I have been to the ER twice in that time. Nothing but silence! I am now hunting for a new cardiologist and practice. It is obvious these guys don't care! My advice is to find another practice.they are a medical disgrace!!! read more

The Doctors are great but on answering phone calls and returning phone call they are vary poor and non-responsive. I have actually called from my home in Hurricane and after some time of the phone just ringing got in my car and drove to St George Intermountain and parked and walked in to Southwest Cardiology and the phone was still ringing. Incredible staff. They are all incredibly caring. I am new to the area and very unsure of who I was going to see for an acute condition. The moment I checked in at the receptionist desk to Sharlene, Dr. Willis and Kindra...WOW...totally impressed. They were all so caring and gave me their undivided attention for over a half hour.
