I was given some antibiotic solution for my surface wound by Nurse #1 pretty immediately, gave her some information about what happened, and she told me the doctor would be in shortly. Enter Nurse #2 around 40 minutes later. She told me they were preparing the xray. I questioned why I needed an xray and she said to make sure there were nothing in my foot, then proceeded to check on the nail in my foot. There was no nail, I never said there was a nail, I scraped my foot on rusty metal, and that translated to puncture would with nail in foot; not sure how. She then said "Oh, maybe it's to make sure you didn't hurt your bone" to which I thought, "Pretty sure if I fractured my heal, I'd be in agony, yet I don't feel anything". She left. Enter Nurse #3 about 45 minutes later. Nurse #3 tells me to follow her, and asks if I need a wheel chair. I give a confused look and tell her the same thing I told Nurse #2, there is no nail, I just need a shot. She looks frustrated, but goes to get the doctor. Doc's busy, but comes in maybe 5-10 minutes later. We proceed to have a 30 second conversation while she checks the wound. She says "yep, you'll need a shot and a Bandaid, make sure to keep it clean. I'll prescribe some antibiotic just in case" and leaves. Nurse #2 comes back in a while after that, puts the Bandaid on, and almost forgets about the shot. 2 hour trip for something that should have taken 5 minutes, lots of miscommunication from the simple scenario that occurred, lots of waiting when they seemed pretty slow, and 4 people saw me, a bit much I thought. At least they have wifi.
