Memorial is old, but in general the facility is well kept and the service is excellent. In December, I had a triple bypass surgery in Memorial. I first spent 5 days on the fourth floor prior my surgery. My surgeon was Dr. Vitaly Piluiko, who recently retired. Him and his team were outstanding. Dr. Piluiko, visited me in my room every day prior my surgery. After surgery, I spent a few days recovering in the intensive care unit. Even the anesthesiologist came to check on me the day after my surgery! Yes, the hospital is a bit tired, but the care I received was outstanding. My only observation is that the food service company lacks of employees who understand what vegan meals are and they need to have a proper selection of options for vegans, vegetarians and pescatarians. The service is at the same level of what I experienced in large hospitals in San Antonio and Dallas Texas.

She asked me why I had come to the Emergency room. I explained the problem with my glucose level and the number of insulin pumps that I had gone through in 24 hours. The Doctor said she would be back. When the Doctor returned, she told me that there was nobody in the Emergency room who dealt with diabetes or insulin pumps. I asked what about the rest of the hospital, I was told that they have all gone home for the weekend. She said she was going to arrange for me to be discharged. I was upset, so I placed a call to the hospital administration, and was told that they would look into it. Shortly after the call, a Nurse Practitioner came to see me. She checked out my Insulin pump controller and went to make a phone call to my Diabetes Doctor, who's office was closed for the weekend. She eventually spoke to a Diabetes Doctor she knew. The Nurse Practitioner returned, telling me that my insulin pump was malfunctioning. I was told about the diet I should eat over the weekend, until I could get in contact with my Diabetes Doctor on Monday. I was eventually discharged from the hospital, without any help for the large swings in my glucose levels and no means to administer insulin. I should have been admitted over the weekend to get my glucose levels under control. Basically, the Emergency Room Dr. Ponce de Leon and the Nurse Practitioner left me in a very dangerous situation.

When Dr's demonstrate this level of indifference for their patient, they are telling you just how little they care. Goodbye and good riddance. If you think this is harsh, ask the staff. They will tell you, Dr Leon is NEVER on time.

His people kept rescheduling my appointment again and again. At NMCC, Dr.Satar was wonderful!!! I don't think many doctors trouble themselves with scheduling and should not have to but if your front desk is horrible they don't know. And it never gets fixed as in the case of Dr. Boulware office. NMCC front desk and scheduling were excellent. I wish I had gone to them first.

Nice office, thorough exam, good communication. My wife and I are both MDs, and he saw us together, which was cool. He neither omitted info, assuming we knew, or dumbed it down. He seems skilled at matching his style to the person. Again, his exam was meticulous, and his explainations were exactly what we needed. Finally, outome. Best damn glasses ever, beating my all time favorite from seven years ago. Over to the optical shop, where prices reminded me that it was Walmart. Frame selection was good, service excellent, and the glasses were ready a day earlier than promised. About as good as it gets.

Id either make the 4 trek 1 way or have telehealth with him. I was with him for 4 or 5 years or maybe more. If it wasnt for him wanting to do procedures over seeing patients id still be with him. Nothing at all bad to say about Dr Ramirez he's an excellent Dr and I do miss my favorite Dr so much! I just didn't like his other providers. When I find a dr I mesh with I stick with them and its hard for me to start up a whole new relationship with another provider due to the social anxiety i have. No other reason as to why I left. Dr. Ramires & Dr Jill who I've had the most interaction with are the best. They always assure their staff and themselves make the patient so comfortable and explain everything throughly. You have to go upstairs to the OB/Gyn side of things (stairs and elevator access right up front). First impression with the staff was absolutely wonderful. They are welcoming and kind, and super helpful. I did not have to wait very long before I was called back for my appointment. The MA was very good at her job, made me feel at ease and you could just tell she loves what she does. Which I realized was a common theme here. Everyone was just so happy! I saw Dr. Peace. Now I've seen a lot of OB/Gyns in my day... Dr. Peace is definitely in the top 2 (only because my #1 delivered my first baby). She is patient, she listens to you, she is reassuring, makes sure she's heard everything you want to share before she goes on to do anything else. She is genuine and cares! Oh and she has the most gentle touch! I am so glad to have been able to get on her schedule and become her patient. In fact all of the staff I interacted with here just seemed like amazing people.
