She and a team member with colorful hair had uplifting music (including country ) playing, and we bonded over our shared playlist more than once! I even joked that if I'm ever feeling down, I should just visit the office to boost my spirit. That's the kind of energy they bring. Dr. Qadri is the real deal--he helped bring my kidney numbers from 41 back into the 90s, and gave me a high five when I officially beat the kidney disease stage . So now I go to mayo clinic, where I am not too old and they work with me and they have me working with a renal dietician. And they actually want me to live!

But I do have a frustration: During the past few months I had an office visit and, just minutes after our 'visit' ended I wanted to ask a follow-up question (it is sometimes hard to think of everything during the office visit and, oftentimes a patient has a follow-up question that emerges as a direct result of the office visit). I asked a member of her staff to tell Dr. Byrne that I had a question and not only did she not come back to me to answer it, but when I saw her walking toward another room before I left the office she purposely ignored me. I get that there are 'permanent patients' who ask a string of non-stop questions, and the doctor's time is valuable. But, in my view, to be a top notch doctor there has to be some reasonable flexiblity in such situations, and it bothers me that I had to schedule another appointment just to answer what I considered to be a simple, quick follow-up question from the appointment.

Luckily, she was transported to the very best trauma hospital in the area. Diagnosed with a brain bleed and a sprained ankle from her fall, they kept her for observation. Long story short, she was sent home, but had a few strange episodes and was in a lot of pain, and returned for about another week of care. We met several of her nurses and were impressed with their bedside manners. They really took good care of my MIL. The hospital is easy to navigate and has a terrific parking structure within walking distance. And a Starbucks open until midnight during the week. Overall, a great experience for a terrifying situation.

I have lived all over America (and all over the world) with my occupation, and I have NEVER had such lack of medical care as in the Phoenix area. After living over half my life with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Sjogren's Syndrome, Raynaud's Syndrome & Hypothyroid, as well as going through aggressive Ovarian Cancer & chemo in my 30s, it is refreshing to find rheumatologist that isn't desensitized to considerate care of the autoimmune issues at hand. Dr. Pace is kind, patient, understanding, competent, and thorough. I feel like I finally have a rheumatologist that is on my side as I continue to battle my health issues.

We recently moved to the east valley and needed a new OB as I have a high risk pregnancy due to my previous medical history. I explained to them on the phone if this was someone their office could handle and I needed to see an OB not a nurse or a midwife due to the complications of my pregnancy. I was scheduled for an ultrasound and "doctor's " visit. The front desk seemed more concerned about their nails and hair than doing their job. I had to redo the same paperwork 3 times because the girl upfront kept deleting it. The ultrasound tech was rude and just seemed annoyed we were there. She has zero personality. While the medical assistant was extremely nice; she did not seem to know what was going on; her nails were longer than her fingers which don't seem professional in a medical setting or even sanitary & she was chewing gum with her mouth open as she spoke to us twirling her hair and ignoring most of what I was saying. I was seen not by a doctor but a nurse; she 100% ignored my questions and concerns. I was then told thy were not going to do anything but have me come back because " we don't even know if you have a viable pregnancy " I was 6 days earlier than we thought and instead of being professional she was rude and heartless. This causes so much unnecessary stress. We got TWO second options that same week and they BOTH agreed the due date would be moved and baby was healthy and growing and there was NO reason to say what she said especially since I am still nursing and there is zero way to know the exact date of conception. When I told her what she said " no you HAVE to be this far along and you're just not matching that " It causes so much unnecessary stress but the way the entire appointment was handled was unprofessional and has zero human compassion. The only reason that I even stopped to wright this review was because the front desk called me today to verify that I canceled my apt. When I said yes I decided to go with an office with better bedside manner her response was " oh yeah that TOTALLY makes sense " and laughed and hung up.
