They sell you a dream! I graduated from them 2 years ago, and not a single person has been selected by any agency they work with. People spend $$$$, especially after "graduation," when they try to sell IMTA in NY. I wish I had read reviews before signing up and wasting my money and time. All they do in class is print information and read it to us. During auditions, they tell us the same thing: "You have amazing potential." Please don't fall for this undercover scam. read more

Seems more like a modeling class for fun, no promises and no guarantee that you will "graduate" or get jobs from this. It's costs about $1500 with the first payment as $300. You cannot Cancel after 3 days, and it has to be written, sent it, and actually received by them. I got hit with some hard financial issues and decided to opt out but I cannot get that $300 back and I didn't even get to attend any class. Pretty much a big scam. They never called or notified me of anything or even try to contact me to keep in touch. After I was excepted , I had also received another email asking if I was interested in auditioning as if I was not already enrolled. So they probably just accept everyone and make money off them. Not knowing too much about modeling or acting my daughter showed interest and had chosen this agency. I paid the 1500 for the classes, and was told she would not be signed with out the classes. Scheduling conflicts had her miss a couple of classes and they told her she wouldn't walk (graduate the course) if she didn't make them up... she didn't make up 2 classes and still walked out of a handful of classes‍. Made it seem like it was all for show. No need to actually finish. She was "signed" and got a call for an "audition" if that is what you can call it because in order to go to this "audition" you had to pay 4000. I know everyone's experience is different with SWMT, so I can only speak for my personal experience. Without writing a novel, I want to start off by admitting that I got into all of this unexpectedly. I was trying to get my sons into it, not myself, but I was advised to try it out for myself, before I get my boys into it. But I can say after a little over a year later, I really feel like I gained a lot of knowledge and training from the Barbizon Classes and even more from the IMTA training. I just got back from IMTA in LA and I can honestly say that I felt over prepared for both of my model and acting competitions, and I owe that to the training I received monthly from SWMT. I went on to win over 10 awards, including placing in Female Actor of the Year and Lifestyle Model of the Year. I knew exactly what to expect while being at IMTA because we trained for it time and time again. Our Agent Directors we're very hands on in making sure we were taken care of and very supportive throughout the whole convention. A sincere thank you to you TyRell and Amanda! You both are amazing women that knows this industry and how to navigate through it. I truly appreciate everything you have done for me and everything you continue to do for me. My experience at SWMT has been nothing short of life changing. I had never considered myself to be a model or actor before, but it was always something I had wanted to pursue. I come from a small, clique-y town where I never had the look or the last name to be anyone special. Tyrell and Amanda have transformed me into a brand new person. I have learned so much about confidence, self love and respect, compassion, and friendship, not to mention the incredible amount of information I have learned about the industry. I want to make it very clear that working with this agency is a JOB and it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and commitment. Like the directors say, "You get out of this what you put into it," and I have never heard a more true statement. This isn't something you audition for once and then wait around for the calls and opportunities to fall in your lap. This is a hard, competitive industry and you cannot expect to take off right away. The classes provided at Barbizon were absolutely amazing and informative. My teacher was a very successful and gorgeous woman, (Shout out to Diana), who came from near nothing and built herself and her career from the ground up. Tyrell, Amanda, Laura, and every single person I have come into contact with at the agency are strong, knowledgable women who hold themselves tall and have high expectations for the people they choose to bring into their agency. I am truly blessed to have been chosen to be a part of such an outstanding school. The classes I took through Barbizon were amazing and I felt that they really prepared me for the auditions and castings I have received from SWMT. But, like I said, this is a JOB! You have to be active and on top of the game, just as you would expect SWMT to be on it as well. They cannot represent you if you aren't putting in the work for them. I have been working hard to learn about the industry in order to begin the career I have been dreaming about for ages! Not only has SWMT and Tyrell opened this incredible world for me, but they also gave me the opportunity to attend IMTA, which was hands down the best week of my entire life! Yes, the cost of the trip looks intimidating and you may question your life choices when you see it, but you have to remember that nothing in this world comes free, and the amount of exposure, experience, and knowledge I gained from my time at IMTA is immeasurable. Words cannot describe the gratitude I have for Tyrell and Amanda for accepting me and preparing me for that conference. It was a week of full-blown TALENT! I met the most amazing people, I strengthened the best friendships I have ever had in my life with the most amazing group anyone could ever ask for, and I learned so much about the industry that I am working towards. With absolutely 0 experience before joining SWMT, I was able to place top ten in three different competitions above 100 other people! My group and I were THE most prepared for IMTA because of the guidance of Tyrell and Amanda. We stood out, and you can too! I could keep writing FOREVER about how amazing SWMT is, and how I think everyone should have an opportunity to meet Tyrell or Amanda, because they are the most genuine people, but this looks like it's getting really long. Please don't let bad reviews or big numbers scare you away from this place, because this is where dreams come true! Trust me, I'm living proof. And if you need extra encouragement, I know about 20 people that can back me up on this. I'd like to end this by saying GO FOR IT! I was seeking out local modeling agencies that seemed more modest than some of the local giants. Just wanting to get my feet wet and see what is out there. I sent in my contact information to SWMT and participated in their 4 hours long information session/"interview". I would not even consider it an interview as I was on Zoom for less than 5 minutes with the scout. I found out they require you to pay nearly $1500 for modeling and acting classes before you're even considered for a contract. They "guarantee" you a contract once you complete the classes but the agreement states otherwise. If you're interested in paying for classes, then this opportunity may be for you. But if you're interested in pursuing modeling or acting with an agency that values your look, skill set, and represents you without steep financial requirements, then SWMT is not for you. Please look into other agencies before convincing yourself it is worth that money. A true agency will help you develop as a model and actress without the required deposit. read more

TyRell and Amanda always made themselves available if I had any questions. They and the other teachers (Alyssa and Bri) taught me so much and prepared me thoroughly for IMTA where I learned A TON. My college age daughter signed up with the intent to take classes. We were both told that we were able to cancel if it didn't work out. She never ended up driving the 2 hours to any of the classes & called to cancel. The corporate office was extremely rude to her stating that she signed a contract & was required to pay the full tuition for NO services rendered. I NEVER signed a contract but agreed verbally to pay the initial deposit. My credit card has been charged consistently from April until September when I finally noticed they were continuing to charge me for my adult daughters contract. When I called to negotiate seeing as how she NEVER once received a service they refused to negotiate. Pretty sure after making her cry she won't be wanting to utilize this service in the future, just a guess. Any business should be willing to negotiate under these circumstances. This shows very low business ethics in my opinion. My credit card charges are being disputed. Don't get yourself into the same situation by using this agency previously knows as Barbizon. I wonder why they changed the business name...bad reviews perhaps? My attorney has been notified as I should not be responsible for someone else's signed contract regardless if it is my daughter she is an adult & if she didn't read the contract why is mom having to pay? I would have agreed to paying something towards this but NO SERVICES RENDERED = thousands of dollars out of MY pocket for a contract I didn't sign? I think not. Besides even if she did miss the cancelation date they should offer some sort of negotiation if she is never to use their services. BAD BUSINESS!!! read more
