It is not a chain, it is a family, and when things go sideways with insurance or other issues they are there to do their best in helping you find the best way that works for you. No, they are not going to create miracles, but on the other hand, they are not going to give you the deer-in-headlights-I-have-no-idea-what-to-do look either. Unfortunately, they were also sold out, but Kristin, their wonderful employee, actually called the company and several weeks later let me know she had him! He arrived in the mail today. My granddaughter will be thrilled. Kristin really went above and beyond for someone who is not local. If I'm ever in Warren, NJ, I will stop in for sure. They have an excellent gift department. I was just walking around the area and decided to stop by this boutique and it was a great experience. I found a water resistance beach pouch that will make a great addition for my beach bag. Love all the accessories they sell at this boutique. I was also able to get some baptism accessories for my niece. The quality and price of the items was amazing and the service was outstanding. The lady that helped me was so lovely she even found some idditional items for me so I really appreciated her suggestions. Then she packed the items in such a lovely way I felt the hard work and love that she placed on the wrapping of the items. As soon as my daughter was done paying, Sabine, who, up until that point had been nice enough, suddenly changed up her attitude and began to berate my daughter, who was wearing a mask. She demanded to know why my daughter was still wearing a mask, in fact her exact words were, "You're still wearing a mask. Why?" When my daughter explained her reasons for still wearing a mask, (not that she needed to explain herself), Sabine started to say it's probably because my daughter was a foreigner, "I know foreigners like to wear masks," were Sabine's words. For the record, we are not foreigners. We may not be white, but my family and I are American citizens, my children were born and raised in the US. My daughter told Sabine clearly that she was not a foreigner, and that she was born and raised in this country, to which Sabine replied, "Well, I guess you don't have an accent." My daughter walked out of the store shocked at the ridiculously racist comments she had just be subjected to from a store she had just supported with her business. We are still in shock! In the wake of all the attacks on members of the Asian American community, I do not feel safe letting my friends and family of color go near this shop which is owned by a woman who is blatantly racist and intolerant. The Vested Interest is probably one of the most organized shops I've visited, so the digging isn't too intense and the gems are really not too hard to find. Need a sweater? Well, go to the sweater section. Shoes? All in one place. Blazers, coats, outerwear? All separated so even sifting between different kinds of jackets isn't tough. You get the point. AND on top of all of that, it is very well sorted between sizes. My mom comes here often and has gotten a few great pieces for herself and as gifts over the years. And on my last trip I walked away with two beautiful coats! One was Jones New York and still had the original tags for $400.... I walked out with it for $80. The woman working there when I stopped in was super helpful, gave me some opinions when I asked for them and was very kind. When I didn't ask for any help, she just let me look around and shop without feeling rushed. Excited to pop back in every once and awhile!
