1-Star Review: My Experience With Astrawatt Solar…read more I'm a big supporter of solar energy, and I still recommend going solar -- just not with Astrawatt. I signed a contract with Astrawatt in late 2024 to install solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall. Unfortunately, I ran into issues at almost every stage: communication delays, product availability problems, installation mistakes, and poor coordination with Evergy. Astrawatt provided projected energy-savings estimates as part of their proposal. After six months, I noticed no change in my energy bill. I reached out to multiple people at the company, including my sales rep, Rhody, and the owner, Alex. A technician finally came out and discovered that my system's energy-export capability had never been enabled. Once they turned it on, the system began performing as promised. However, during those first six months, my system was capped and unable to produce the savings it should have. Alex acknowledged the mistake and even calculated the energy production I missed, telling me I would be reimbursed within days. Two months later, after many follow-ups, communication from Alex, Rhody, and others at Astrawatt has stopped. Based on my experience, the company has not taken responsibility for the error or followed through on what they told me. I truly wish I had chosen a different installer, and I recommend anyone considering Astrawatt think carefully before signing a contract. The amount of money I spent on the installation of my solar system has been a really bad…read moreexperience. The project manager, Haresh, has been hard to reach for answers to my questions. And most of the time, I have to call several times before to picks up or replies. The workmanship of the installation is less than optimal. I am surprised that it passed inspection. The large conduit that penetrates the outside wall of my house has not been caulked or sealed to keep water or weather out, so a mold problem does not start. None of the PVC conduits were cemented at the joints. they were just dry fitted. How can a project manager let that happen??? Well, my guess, he was never at the job site! Additionally, there was 2 missing cartridge fuses, they alleged that I took them out. How dare they accuse me of taking them! Why would I do that? Oh, by the way, I was in NY at the time of the install. I tried to get support from the company, and it proved to be most difficult. MY SUGGESTION - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

After speaking with a representative of Volta Solar - everything was broken down for us into terms that made us decide to make the move to solar. We were informed of all the stories that are read online and how this particular company differs. We also weren't put on the spot to make a decision right then. The electricians responsible for the job were respectful of our home and our property. They even enjoyed having our dog in the yard with them. Everything was done in a timely manner and given to us as an understandable play-by-play. To no fault of their own (something to do with how our house was built), they did have to return the next day to finish one small task. I definitely recommend going through this experience with Volta.

My experience with JR & Co has been nothing less than excellent from start to finish. Luke Williams…read moreis the very knowledgeable project manager that was very helpful and genuinely committed to making sure that the project was successful. He made the process of working with my insurance company very simple and was very familiar with the adjuster who was assigned. When it came time for the team to show up Luke was there to put up protective equipment around all of our garden essentials and the crew was very mindful of our belongings while constantly loading the roofing trash into the trash trailer. Even though the crew is Hispanic there was an English speaker who communicated the daily plans with me at all times of the project. I ordered a designer shingle which is less common, but the crew told me they have many years installing several dozen projects with the same shingle and have had plenty of experience with how to install it. When the project was completed they spent a considerable amount of time cleaning the yard to free it from nails and the smaller debris. I will be happy to recommend JR & Co to as many people as I can for as long as it is relevant.

Electrician wired it wrong three times,unhooked a 220v stove and left one hot wire and neutral,…read morethe installers got into a fist fight ( while very interesting it was very unprofessional) the salesman said I would no longer have an electric bill, and they were warrantied for 35 years ( 12 years later hail stone broke one I had to pay for replacement). 199$ for panels 200$ electric bill ( was 199$ for just electric bill before I got lied to) had to have them out SEVERAL TIMES just to get the things to work a little bit..... Junk product and an even worse company... Proud to say I got my 4 acre companies building not to use them. They lied to me...no respect for such such a place... If you are reading this DONT USE SUNSMART....they will tell you what ever to make the sale.

The electricians Roberto and David were great, in fact, they were all exceptional. I have an old home that had a Federal Pacific Electric box. If you have an old home like mine and you have one of these electrical boxes (have it replaced asap)! Those never did work well and are definitely a fire hazard! They knew the history and got it done the next day.

Received a a very quick and prompt estimate. Had an electrical box fire, that destroyed the breaker…read morebox and the power supply meter with cables connecting the two. Was three days from the 4th of July, Roberto who gave the estimate knew it was an emergency. Power Company turned off the Water and Gas due to protocol with no electricity. Was a house with a 65+ year old, and couldn't stay there. Was at hotel since 4 days before the estimate. Was told by Roberto he would get the ball rolling because it was an emergency, approved the estimate within 10 minutes. Not a word from them a week later. Even called looking for an eta, information anything. So Monday, 10 days after incident, called someone else local. They came out same day for an estimate, literally 8am the next day to do the job. For 600 dollars less and replaced an old wire on top of that. While Tuesday afternoon I never did receive a call from Jeremy, but I did call and cancel. So while Jeremy Electrical I might call to update a system, replace outlets, or such jobs. Would not call again for an emergency. Edit: 100% hit accept on the estimate from the link in E-mail as soon as Roberto left, called next day to confirm it was approved though. Was not once called by Jeremy electrical, but sure cares enough about Yelp comments to reply literally 2 minutes after it was posted though.
